Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Medicine for the Illness

At the door of the ward, Scotland grabbed Stelle, who was about to open the door, and feeling a bit uneasy about the seemingly unreliable Stelle, asked, "Stelle, are you really going to save this child? And you're just going to go in like this, without contacting a doctor to inquire about his condition?"

"There's no need for that!" Stelle said confidently, "I have my own methods."

With that, she directly opened the ward door.

This was a single ward furnished in an extremely simple manner, yet it gave off a sense of tranquility and comfort. It was clear that as a father, Yuuki Ogawa had done his best to provide a good healing environment for his son.

At this moment, Yu Ogawa was quietly leaning back on the hospital bed. His usually healthy, rosy face was now exceptionally pale, and his large eyes showed a hint of fatigue and weakness. He held a Rubik's Cube in his hand, slowly rotating it, trying to solve it.

Suddenly, a slight sound of the door opening echoed in the quiet ward. Yu Ogawa looked up at the sound, only to see two unfamiliar adults slowly walking in through the doorway, a trace of curiosity and confusion in his eyes.

Yu Ogawa: "Big sister, big brother, who are you?"

Stelle briskly walked to the bedside, sat down beside Yu Ogawa without formality, and went straight to the point: "My name is Stelle, and he is Mitsuru Midorikawa. We are friends of your dad, and he asked us to come and cure your illness."

Yu Ogawa blinked in confusion, somewhat disbelieving. After all, just yesterday he had seen his dad full of worry over his illness. Could there really be a solution so quickly?

Yu Ogawa hesitated, "But I've never heard Dad mention you two before?"

"He can't possibly tell you about all his friends. We're just the friends your dad happened not to tell you about. But none of that matters!" Stelle casually brushed it off, then waved her hand, signaling Yu Ogawa not to dwell on such meaningless questions: "What matters is—this!"

Stelle opened her palm, revealing a yellow-packaged, candy-like item with strange writing.

Stelle handed the item to Yu Ogawa, happily introducing it: "This is what can cure your illness—'Sour Dream' brand gummies. They replenish vitality and cure diseases, an indispensable good helper for fighting and adventuring. I only have this one left. If your dad hadn't pleaded so sincerely, I wouldn't give you something so amazing. Kid, you should thank me, the Galaxy Bat-Man, from the bottom of your heart!"

"Is that so? Then thank you very much, Big Sister, no, Galaxy Bat-Man." Yu Ogawa was stunned for a moment, then took the'Sour Dream' brand gummy from Stelle's hand and thanked her solemnly.

In reality, Yu Ogawa didn't believe Stelle's method of curing him, as it didn't sound very reliable. He just saw Stelle as someone his dad had invited to comfort him, and not wanting to disappoint her, he accepted Stelle's item.

"Don't just hold it, hurry up and eat it. The sooner you eat it, the sooner you recover. Plus, it's sweet and sour, quite good," Stelle urged Yu Ogawa.

"Okay, I'll eat it now." Yu Ogawa was a bit helpless; he wasn't very good at refusing. In the end, he unwrapped the candy and slowly ate it all.

The taste was indeed good, as Stelle had said. It was a bit tart, but upon closer taste, there seemed to be a hint of sweetness, just like its name,'Sour Dream.'

And whether it was an illusion or not, after eating the candy, Yu Ogawa suddenly felt much lighter, and the frequent discomfort of chest tightness and shortness of breath had disappeared.

Could it really be, as Sister Stelle said, that this was the medicine that could cure him?! But could the effect be that good?
