Chapter 96 - Chapter 95: A Potential Source of Wealth

Arthur stood on a newly leveled platform, overlooking the bustling construction site below.

He had found profitable goods for now, but he needed channels to connect with important figures, so he had to find a way to invite some merchants back.

Lucien stood respectfully behind him, awaiting orders, having been summoned.

"The sun is truly beautiful," Arthur remarked.

Lucien was puzzled. Lord Arthur never spoke meaningless words. He lowered his head in thought, then frowned, repeating the process, trying hard to understand Lord Arthur's subtle hint.

"Lucien!" Arthur commanded.

"Yes, My Lord," Lucien responded. Was it finally time for a task?

"I have a task for you!" Arthur turned to face Lucien. "Gather fifty soldiers! Go to Kings Road!"

Lucien's heart skipped a beat. Indeed. He placed his hand on his sword hilt, recalling the previous operation disguised as bandits.

"I understand what you mean, My Lord! You can rest assured!" Lucien said fiercely.

"Go and 'intercept' a merchant caravan!" Arthur's choice of words was peculiar. "Remember! It's best if they are from King's Landing! A sufficiently large scale! A caravan with sufficiently magnificent banners!"

"Don't worry, My Lord! Not a single one will escape! No news will leak out!" Lucien patted his chest, twisted his head, and even put his mind to work for a moment.

"Lord Arthur! I think this shouldn't be done on our land! Let me take my brothers, disguised, and do it on another lord's territory! How about that, My Lord?"

Arthur: "

"

Arthur's eyes widened: "Who told you it's a robbery? What I need you to do is intercept, intercept, understand?"

"I understand, Lord Arthur!" A resolute look appeared in Lucien's eyes.

Arthur could only switch to a more direct meaning: ".

::,

It's a genuine invitation! An invitation!!!"

Arthur emphasized the word "invitation."

"Ah!....." Lucien's brain seemed to fall into a state of confusion.

Arthur rubbed his face with his right hand: "You are to set up your formation in the middle of the road. When they stop, you must tell the owner of the caravan that my lord, Lord Arthur, invites him to be a guest in his territory."

The financial officer, Barna, frowned beside him. "Lord Arthur, most merchants are very cunning and wary, especially large caravans from King's Landing. They all have their own backgrounds and guards.

"Their attention won't fall on a small lord. For them, once the toll is paid, there's no debt between them. I'm afraid they won't easily accept an invitation."

Arthur's lips curved into a smile. He took out a flawed single-piece crystal lens and handed it to Lucien: "So, the posture must be firm."

"You must make them understand that this is not an option, but at the same time, you must also let them see the benefits."

"Show them these things, tell them that in my territory, there are goods that cannot be bought even in King's Landing or the Free Cities. If they are willing to come, I will show them true wealth. If they are not willing...:::,

"Then make them understand that if they refuse my invitation, they won't be able to leave!"

"I understand, Lord Arthur!" Lucien carefully put away the lens, bowed, and even felt a little disappointed that this operation wasn't a robbery. "I guarantee the completion of the mission!"

On Kings Road, dust flew.
