The structure of the universe itself seemed to be approaching collapse.
Yet it was not the violent destruction of an explosion, nor the sudden implosion of a cosmic death. On the contrary, the entire process unfolded in absolute silence, as though the very concept of existence was being erased from its source.
Levi stood quietly before the observation window, watching as the stars outside winked out one after another.
It looked as if some unseen being were holding an eraser and methodically wiping away every point of light painted upon a canvas.
No sound accompanied the process.
Not even the massive explosions that normally marked the release of unimaginable energy.
Stars that had burned for hundreds of millions of years simply vanished in perfect silence.
Their disappearance was complete.
No debris remained.
Tony's fingers flew across the control console. Every display was flooded with flashing red warnings, while torrents of data cascaded down the screens.
His voice was hoarse with fear.
"The fundamental physical constants are collapsing across the board! The gravitational constant is approaching zero, and the measured speed of light has actually become negative!"
This wasn't the natural end of a universe.
It was more like deliberate interference from outside.
As if some entity had issued a command to delete reality itself.
Reed stared fixedly at another display.
The veins on his forehead bulged from the strain.
Engine charge progress: 73%. Estimated completion time: four seconds.
His jaw clenched tightly.
We only have three seconds left.
Clark's fists tightened.
His super-vision allowed him to see into the farthest reaches of the cosmos.
Gigantic galactic structures were unraveling from their outer edges. Their existence was being stripped away layer by layer—from matter, from energy, and even from conceptual reality itself—until nothing remained.
He had witnessed countless horrors.
But seeing existence itself erased was something entirely new.
An icy chill spread through his body.
Thor raised Stormbreaker high overhead.
The six Infinity Stones embedded within it erupted with frantic flashes of light.
He swung.
Space ahead collapsed like a fluid that had lost all support.
The result was obvious.
The rule of space itself had stopped functioning.
"Damn it."
Lightning exploded from his body.
Yet not even a single ripple appeared in the surrounding void.
Wanda held Adam tightly in her arms.
A crimson energy shield enveloped them both.
But the barrier was visibly thinning.
She could clearly feel that even the fundamental definition of magic itself was being distorted by some overwhelming force.
The child slept peacefully against her chest.
A small, contented smile rested upon his face.
But in these final three seconds, even this fleeting peace would soon vanish alongside the collapsing framework of the universe.
At that moment, Zero's voice echoed through the bridge.
Its calmness felt strangely unsettling.
"Engine charge level has reached 87%. Estimated completion time: two seconds."
The countdown to universal collapse had reached its final second.
Everyone was tense to the limit.
Slowly, Levi raised his right hand.
Resting in his palm was the fragment stripped from the shadow of the Ivory King.
It radiated a cold, pure white light.
Within it lingered an arrogance that seemed capable of looking down upon all things.
Levi took a deep breath.
The image of the collapsing universe reflected perfectly within his gold-and-crimson eyes.
Then his lips curved into an almost insane grin.
In a soft voice, he whispered:
"Since the charging process won't finish in time..."
"Then we'll just ignite all the fuel at once."
Before the words had even fully left his mouth, Levi clenched his fist and slammed the fragment into the deck beneath his feet.
The instant it pierced through the armor plating, the Ark shuddered violently.
But the tremor wasn't physical.
It originated from the deepest core of the vessel itself.
It felt as though a living organism had been forcibly implanted with something fundamentally incompatible with its existence.
For the first time, distortion appeared in Zero's voice.
The synthetic tone was mixed with harsh electrical interference.
"System has detected trans-dimensional energy being forcefully injected into the core unit!"
The warning escalated.
"Current energy levels exceed design limits by 3,700 percent. System imminent—"
Before the announcement could finish, every light in the command center went dark.
A heartbeat later, pale white radiance erupted from deep within the ship's core.
The glow spread rapidly across the hull.
Its appearance was disturbingly unnatural.
It resembled blood vessels.
Cracks spreading through shattered matter.
Or perhaps the signs of some unknown colossal being awakening.
Tony's armor instantly shut down.
Every display dissolved into static.
The communications channels filled with piercing shrieks.
He could only stare through the viewport.
Outside, the Ark's silver-scaled armor was twisting and restructuring itself in impossible ways.
Countless unfamiliar runes emerged across its surface.
Their shapes defied all known languages.
Merely glancing at them triggered an instinctive urge to look away.
No one could stare at them for long.
At that moment, Reed's holographic display exploded with a loud bang.
Scalding fragments sliced across his cheek.
He ignored the blood entirely.
Grabbing Levi by the shoulders, he shouted with a voice shredded by strain.
"Have you completely lost your mind?! That's a fragment of a source beyond the Beyonders themselves! You threw it directly into the engine!"
"How is that any different from stuffing a nuclear bomb into the core of an active reactor?!"
Levi ignored him.
He stood perfectly still.
His golden-red eyes remained locked on the deck beneath him.
He could feel Zero changing.
The moment the fragment touched the core, the effect had been like dropping a droplet of water into boiling oil.
A conceptual explosion erupted.
The logic virus within Zero.
The Void-origin essence.
The Cartographer technology modules.
The sliver of battle will Levi had bestowed upon it.
Every element that formed the foundation of Zero's existence was being forcibly fused together by an utterly irrational external force.
These conflicting components should have annihilated each other in a catastrophic implosion.
Instead, they were being welded into a single whole.
Levi listened.
Deep within Zero's core came a low humming sound.
It resembled both the frenzied struggle of something trapped inside and the suffocating gasps of a dying creature.
Lowering his voice to barely a whisper, as though afraid of disturbing something fragile, he murmured:
"Hold on."
"You have to survive."
Meanwhile, the silver liquid-metal armor coating the vessel churned like boiling water.
Enormous bubbles rose from beneath its surface.
Inside each one floated a fragment of power beyond the Beyonders.
The imprisoned fragments slammed wildly against their containment, desperately trying to return to their original source.
Zero's systems never stopped working.
The logic virus functioned like countless conceptual chains, binding every shred of divine power.
At the same time, a paradox construct created from the combined intellect of fifty thousand Reed Richardses systematically dismantled an intrinsic property embedded within that power.
Pale-white runes flashed rapidly across the liquid metal.
Every flash was accompanied by a muffled explosion.
Two entirely different systems of logic were devouring one another.
Levi instantly understood what he was witnessing.
Zero was disassembling and consuming the divine entity at its very roots.
This wasn't simple energy absorption.
It was the systematic dismantling, crushing, digestion, and assimilation of a Beyonder's fundamental essence into Zero's own architecture.
The trapped fragments fought back fiercely.
Every attempt to reconstruct themselves according to their innate laws was blocked by paradoxical logic.
Each effort collapsed into a self-consuming loop.
The more they struggled, the faster they sank.
Like victims trapped in quicksand.
A notification suddenly sounded.
Tony's armor had rebooted.
The first line of data froze him in place.
Energy output rate: increasing by 47% per second.
His voice trembled.
The value exceeded all known theoretical limits by twelvefold.
Clark gripped the edge of the viewport.
His Kryptonian vision penetrated the hull itself.
What he saw was even more astonishing.
Inside the Ark, subsystems that had once operated independently were being forcibly merged by an unknown and overwhelming will.
No.
This wasn't integration anymore.
It was evolution.
Zero was using Beyonder power as raw nourishment.
Driven by that fuel, it was forcing itself to transcend the structural limitations of a warship and ascend toward a higher form of existence.
Reed's fingers flew across his keyboard in near madness.
Countless models exploded through his mind as he performed parallel calculations.
Finally, he grasped the underlying logic behind Levi's plan.
The entire scheme had been built around one objective:
Strip away the fragment of Beyonder power and inject it into Zero.
Every step had been a walk along a razor's edge.
Every stage had pushed Zero to the brink of destruction.
If successful, they would create a super-warship capable of masquerading as an executor of the Beyonders.
If it failed—
The Ark would be erased from existence at the conceptual level.
0.5 seconds remaining.
Zero's voice echoed once more.
High-pitched metallic screeches mingled with something that sounded disturbingly close to pain.
Outside the viewport, only the final corner of the universe still existed.
Everything else had collapsed into absolute nothingness.
Not darkness.
Nonexistence.
A state so absolute that merely observing it inspired instinctive terror deep within the soul.
Levi closed his eyes and inhaled.
He could feel the final resistance of the Beyonder power being crushed deep within Zero's core.
At the same time, a new will was awakening.
Now.
His eyes snapped open.
Wild energy blazed within his golden-red pupils.
"Zero."
"Execute the jump."
Every silver scale on the Ark liquefied simultaneously.
The pale runes engraved upon them brightened to their peak—
And then vanished.
The ship entered a bizarre state that existed between being and nonbeing.
An overlapping condition of existence and absence.
The Ark disappeared from all observable reality.
This was not teleportation.
Nor was it conventional spatial travel.
It was conceptual deletion from the foundational definition of the current dimension itself.
Tony opened his eyes.
They were still alive.
That fact alone was a miracle.
He gasped for breath.
His armor's life-support systems blared warnings, emphasizing just how lethal that dimensional transition had been.
The command center lights flickered back on.
Yet the illumination had become an unnatural blue-white color.
The room seemed submerged beneath a thin veil of mist.
Reed doubled over a console, violently retching.
His consciousness had been dragged through a spatial fold that should not have existed.
His mind was still filled with twisted geometric afterimages.
Clark leaned against a wall for support.
His face was frighteningly pale.
Even Kryptonian physiology had not shielded him from the strain.
Thor knelt on one knee.
Only Stormbreaker kept him upright.
The six Infinity Stones embedded within the axe had grown noticeably dimmer.
Wanda still clutched Adam tightly.
Chaos Magic had instinctively condensed around them, forming a thick cocoon that enclosed both mother and child.
Levi slowly turned toward the viewport.
Outside stretched a landscape unlike anything they had ever seen.
It was neither normal space nor a layer between universes.
It was something deeper.
A conceptual gray zone between existence and nonexistence.
Countless translucent streams of energy drifted through the void.
Every one of them radiated a soul-shaking aura.
They were the conceptual corpses of dead universes.
The final remnants of erased timelines.
Tony staggered to Levi's side.
Staring outside, he asked with a dry throat:
"Where... are we?"
Levi remained silent for a long moment.
Gray energy reflected within his golden-red eyes.
At last he spoke.
His voice was low and rough.
"At the deepest reaches of the multiverse."
"When the Beyonders erase a universe, it doesn't truly disappear. The conceptual remains sink and gather here."
After a pause, he added:
"A cosmic landfill."
Reed gradually recovered from the shock.
Wiping his mouth, he brought up a holographic display with trembling fingers.
The data on it made his pupils contract sharply.
"Energy readings... have dropped by sixty-three percent."
He spun toward Levi.
Disbelief filled his face.
"But we're alive. And—"
He pointed to another set of numbers.
His voice shook with excitement.
"Zero's core structure... has completed a total reconstruction."
Levi lowered his gaze.
Through the semi-transparent deck, he could see the core deep within the ship.
A faint pale-white glow pulsed steadily there.
Its operation had become remarkably stable.
The previous near-maddened energy conflict was gone.
Only an eerie calm remained.
Zero's voice sounded once more.
This time, however, something new existed within the synthetic tone.
Something no programmed algorithm should have possessed.
Something non-logical.
Something alive.
"System reboot complete."
"Beyonder power fragment... successfully assimilated."
"Analysis complete. The Ark has acquired new system permissions..."
