[Random Descend selected.]
[Selecting Descend location…]
[Random Descend successful. Welcome, Summoner Logan.]
"Descend successful, Summoner. Your Descend duration this time is thirty minutes."
[Name: Logan]
[Race: Human Soul]
[Soul Strength: 7.3 (Scattered Soul)]
[World Exploration: 1%]
What greeted Logan's eyes was no longer that deep purple, and he finally let out a breath of relief. He looked around and saw that—like Purple Prison Mountain—this was also a forest. But compared to Purple Prison Mountain's eerie, gloomy, shadowy darkness, this place felt warm and bright.
The trees weren't towering giants, and even the weeds grew in tidy patches. Logan could even hear small animals moving around.
He took one step forward. The next moment, the system's prompt sounded.
[Map discovered — Blossom Valley]
[Current map exploration: 0.01%]
[Exploration rewards accumulating]
[Good luck, Summoner Logan.]
"Blossom Valley?"
Logan narrowed his eyes, then suddenly slapped his palm.
On the Spirit Blossom screen-map, only Purple Prison Mountain was lit up. Everything else was still shrouded in shadow—but you could still vaguely make out what each area looked like through that darkness.
On the screen, most places were mountains, with rivers and plains too. There even seemed to be something that looked like… farmland?
But there were only two valleys. One belonged to the Kanmei faction, and the other to the Akana faction. And the deities depicted over the valleys on the screen were so vivid and distinct that Logan could recognize them at a glance.
They were the spirit of the Kanmei Valley—Ahri—and the Spirit Blossom deity of the Akana Valley—Riven.
So arriving in Blossom Valley naturally put Logan in a great mood.
Ahri was practically the main character of the Spirit Blossom story. Sure, later on there was also the "second-generation protagonist" Sett, who set off on a journey to find his father—but that didn't change the fact that Ahri was the soul of the narrative, the one who ran through the entire Spirit Blossom tale. And Ahri was a friendly, gentle deity—a guide for lost souls—nothing like Thresh, that creepy old bastard.
If he met Ahri, maybe he wouldn't just unlock fifty exploration points on the spot—maybe he could even squeeze some benefits out of her.
With that in mind, Logan picked a path and began exploring Blossom Valley.
[Discovered Faerie Grass, exploration value +5]
[Discovered White Moon Rabbit, exploration value +3]
[Discovered Giant Spirit Deer.]
[Discovered Autumn Moon Grove, exploration value accumulating]
Wandering through Blossom Valley, Logan felt himself relax. Aside from the beautiful natural scenery, the local creatures here weren't particularly aggressive. As long as Logan didn't approach and provoke them, even when they noticed him, they simply stayed quiet and went about their own business.
They didn't look weak—at least, there were several creatures that made Logan feel like he absolutely wouldn't be their match.
There was a giant deer over three meters tall, its body nearly two meters long, with antlers like blades. And there were things crouched in the trees—not beast-spirits, but spirit-bodied beings shaped like human souls. Logan figured he definitely couldn't win against those.
After he passed yet another lake, Logan checked the remaining time and realized there were only four minutes left before the Descend ended. After walking for so long without running into Ahri, he felt a little disappointed—but even if he hadn't met her, his harvest still wasn't small.
Just as he was thinking that, the trees in the forest suddenly rustled. A snow-white blur flashed past his eyes in an instant. Logan thought it was some rabbit-like creature, so he followed the movement—
And saw a tiny snow-white fox sitting neatly on a rock, head tilted as it looked at him.
"Lost soul~ are you unable to find your way?"
"If that's the case, please follow me. I'll lead you out of this place. You don't belong here."
[Warning!]
[Attention!]
[Blossom Valley deity detected!]
[Escape immediately and avoid the target!]
[Blossom Valley deity possesses the ability to influence the mortal world!]
Logan rolled his eyes the moment he heard it.
Is this system's intelligence at the level of a moron?
So rigid.
Ahri was the benevolent leader of the Kanmei—she guided souls. How could she possibly be dangerous?
And besides, if there really was danger, Logan's outcome would be the same as last time when he ran into Thresh: he wouldn't have any chance to run at all.
Logan was stronger now—his soul strength had risen, and he was already beyond an ordinary person—but in Runeterra, he was still weak.
Especially in Ionia—let's put it this way: Logan figured even a not-yet-teen Akali could take down three of him.
So if Ahri really wanted to harm him, he wouldn't have any ability to resist. And anyway, last time it was Ahri who saved him from that obsessive old creep Thresh. Which was exactly why Logan was absolutely, definitely not following Ahri just because he liked her!
Ignoring the system's warning, Logan walked toward the snow-white little fox.
The moment he lifted his foot, the fox alertly raised a paw, hopped down from the rock, and landed on the grass with soft pink paw pads. It glanced back at Logan, its big tail swaying, then trotted forward.
After a few steps, it stopped again and looked back at him.
The meaning was obvious: follow.
Logan hurried after it, weaving through the woods as the little fox darted ahead.
They reached a firefly-lit patch of forest. The fox finally stopped running and lowered its head to lick its fur.
"You're really fascinating. You're clearly not a soul yet… so why are you here, human child?"
That pleasant voice sounded again. Logan looked down and saw the fox lifting its head to look up at him. In its beautiful eyes, starlight shimmered—brilliant and dazzling.
"Like you said, I got lost," Logan replied.
"Lost? That's interesting." The fox sounded delighted. "I think you came here on purpose. I haven't forgotten you—because of you, Thresh and I fought for days."
Then, right in front of Logan, it sprang high into the air.
"Poof~"
With a light sound, white light and smoke burst out together. When it cleared, a woman appeared in front of Logan.
She wore an off-shoulder short dress and white knee-high boots, with long pink sleeves covering her arms like detached gloves. Pink hair spilled down, and nestled within it was a pair of long, upright fox ears—wide and pointed, the same soft pink as her hair. Her face was breathtakingly seductive, with three rosy markings on each cheek. Her narrow eyes were foxlike, mesmerizing. Beneath a straight, delicate nose was a full, smiling mouth—curved as she looked at Logan, smiling sweetly.
"Human child—have you ever seen a fox like me?"
Logan froze.
He'd imagined Spirit Blossom Ahri would be beautiful, but when she truly appeared before him, Logan realized he'd still underestimated her.
This wasn't just beauty Logan understood—no, it was a kind of beauty that simply wasn't human at all.
Otherworldly. Sacred. Pure. Tempting. Cute. Sexy.
They were opposite words, but on her, they all fit perfectly.
There were plenty of beautiful women in the Twin Cities—Vi, Caitlyn, Jinx, and others Logan had seen in Zaun. They were all stunning. Vi had a bold, heroic edge to her face. Caitlyn was tall and flawless. Jinx, with her sickly pale complexion, carried that sharp contrast of innocence and temptation.
But next to Ahri… Logan felt only Jinx could barely brush the edge of her presence—purely by relying on that "chaotic and unhinged" vibe.
And even that was just vibe. Besides, "unhinged" wasn't exactly a compliment, was it?
"Staring, are you?"
"Hehe, I like that~"
"Human child, come talk with me. I'm very curious how you managed to do this."
[Ahri's favorability +1]
