Chapter 13 - The Night to Remember [chapter-7]

Mask Man moved fast.

He rushed to Sam and began untying him—it was clear he planned to move him elsewhere.

Night thickened around them.

As Mask Man lifted Sam, everything changed.

Sam suddenly struck him hard at the solar plexus—a sensitive point just below the ribs.

Mask Man gasped.

Sam didn't stop.

Blow after blow crashed down.

"You bloody traitor!" Sam roared.

"You used her name and stabbed me in the back!"

Rage fueled every punch.

Mask Man fell.

Sam stood over him, breathing fire.

Another hit landed.

Through blood and pain, Mask Man laughed—low and mocking.

"Funny," he rasped.

"Look who's teaching me lessons about betrayal."

Sam froze for a split second—conflicted.

That moment was enough.

Mask Man swept Sam's leg from the ground, yanking him down.

He locked Sam into a tight submission hold.

"I didn't expect the coffee to wear off this fast," he muttered.

Sam fought back—wild jabs. One landed.

Then Sam stomped directly on Mask Man's gunshot wound.

Mask Man screamed.

"Doctor, you bitch!"

Pain burned through him—but fury burned hotter.

In one violent motion, he twisted Sam's leg and threw him aside.

Mask Man rose.

Punch after punch slammed into Sam's jaw.

Relentless. Brutal.

His fists reddened.

Sam's vision blurred.

Control slipped away.

The night swallowed everything.

Mask Man dragged Sam to the car.

He shoved Sam into the side seat, strapped him tight with the seat belt, and struck him once more for good measure.

Placing his phone in front of Sam,

Mask Man drove onto the highway—

not toward the blast-house case, but somewhere far more personal.

"Don't you recognize this car?" he asked coldly.

It was Sam's.

Sam waited.

Then—

With a sudden movement, he reached under the seat and grabbed a pistol.

Click.

Mask Man heard it.

Bang—

Sam fired—but with his hands tied, the shot went wide as Mask Man struck his arm.

The car swerved violently across the empty highway.

Mask Man groaned in pain but regained control, disarming Sam with a savage punch.

Hope died in Sam's eyes.

Mask Man's voice dropped—dark, trembling with rage.

"You knew exactly what happened to her."

"She trusted you," he snarled.

"And this is what you gave her?"

Sam laughed bitterly—without regret.

"Yes. I knew. I betrayed her."

"I loved her," he admitted.

"But she never loved me back. For her, Aron was everything."

Mask Man shook with fury.

"And that was her crime?"

"She loved someone else?"

"You could've walked away," he spat.

"But you chose betrayal."

Sam's voice cracked.

"Yes. I did."

"When we were driving home, I handed her over to Officer Rick. False charges."

"I thought she'd be arrested—nothing more."

Guilt crept in.

"I never imagined she'd die."

Mask Man intensed,"And you never try to find out."

Then he paused.

Mask Man's silence was heavier than words.

"This," he whispered,

"is what you call love?"

"Even hell wouldn't want you."

Still driving with one hand, Mask Man picked up the pistol.

Two shots rang out.

Bullets tore through both of Sam's thighs.

Sam screamed.

The radio crackled alive.

Breaking news:

"The burned body has been confirmed as Officer Rick."

Sam's screams died into terror.

He stared at Mask Man.

Mask Man tilted his head.

A slow, knowing smile crept beneath the mask.

The car door opened.

Mask Man jumped from the moving vehicle.

The car veered—

slammed into a pole—

BOOM.

Fire swallowed everything.

Injured but steady, Mask Man walked away.

He removed the mask.

Once again—

only one thing shone.

Now Police is also involved .

What's next?

It's a Great suspense .

But not For our Un-masked Man.

Looking back at the flames, he announced calmly,

"A man died in a car accident."
