Chapter 22
After hypnotizing Jiraiya, Ling Yu didn't linger outside. Using his Space Power, he instantly returned to the Senju residence.
"Sis, I'm back!"
After taking off his shoes at the entrance, Ling Yu called out into the house.
"…"
Silence greeted him. No response.
"What's going on?"
Ling Yu frowned in confusion.
Normally, Tsunade would enthusiastically welcome him home. But after waiting several seconds, the house remained quiet.
Assuming she might be asleep, he headed to her room.
Empty. Clothes were scattered, the bed unmade. It looked like she hadn't returned since he left.
Next, Ling Yu searched the entire house—the courtyard, kitchen, his bedroom, the underground training ground. No sign of Tsunade anywhere.
"She's not home?"
His confusion deepened.
"That's weird. Sis said she wasn't going out today. Where could she be?"
Back in the living room, Ling Yu flopped onto the sofa, racking his brain for possible locations. Nothing came to mind.
After lying there a while, he sat up with a sudden idea.
"I can ask at the clan gate."
He left the house and headed toward the Senju clan entrance.
At the main gate, he spotted a guard stationed there.
Ling Yu jogged over and asked politely:
"Have you seen where my sister went?"
"Young Master. Princess Tsunade left about half an hour ago."
The guard bowed respectfully before answering honestly.
"Half an hour ago? That was right after I left…"
Ling Yu bit his thumbnail, murmuring.
Wanting to track her down, he pressed:
"Do you know where she went?"
"I'm not sure. But Princess Tsunade seemed very rushed. Two female clansmen were following her."
"She looked angry when she left… muttering something about the Uchiha… 'I'll make you pay'… things like that."
The guard carefully recalled the scene and shared everything he knew.
"Uchiha…?"
Ling Yu froze. He remembered his recent clash with the Uchiha clan.
Tsunade must have heard about his fight with Mad. Knowing her fiercely protective nature, she'd likely stormed straight to the Uchiha compound.
The thought gave him a headache. Tsunade was too impulsive. If she got hurt, it would be a disaster.
The Uchiha were still a powerhouse clan—strong enough that both the Third Hokage and Danzo paid them close attention. Who knew if they had a hidden Kage-level expert?
"Thank you. I'll go now."
After a quick thanks, Ling Yu hurried toward the Uchiha district, praying he wouldn't be too late.
…
Meanwhile – Outside the Uchiha Compound
Tsunade sat cross-legged on a chair, arms folded. Behind her stood two female Senju shinobi.
Facing them was a row of Uchiha police force members in uniform, staring warily.
Both sides stood in tense silence. The atmosphere was thick enough to cut.
"I've waited long enough. Why hasn't anyone come out yet?"
After a while, Tsunade stood up, narrowing her eyes.
Her gaze swept over the line of Uchiha officers, radiating impatience.
"I'm sorry, Princess Tsunade. The elder is on his way."
Uchiha Ryu, the police captain, hurriedly stepped forward, speaking cautiously.
Seeing how furious Tsunade looked, he was genuinely afraid she'd storm the compound.
If she did, the officers here wouldn't stand a chance. And with so many onlookers… if she succeeded, the Uchiha clan would lose all face.
Ryu inwardly regretted his earlier arrogance.
He wished he could go back in time and slap himself.
…
Several Minutes Earlier – Uchiha Clan Grounds
"Where's the person in charge of the Uchiha?! Get out here!"
Tsunade stormed up to the Uchiha compound gate with her two clansmen, roaring at the top of her lungs.
"Clan head, this might not be wise…"
The two Senju women behind her exchanged worried glances. They'd been ordered by the elders to follow her—specifically to prevent her from doing anything outrageous that could spark a clan conflict.
Tsunade's temper was infamous. Once she decided something, ten oxen couldn't pull her back.
She flicked her hair dramatically, speaking with absolute dominance:
"What's there to be afraid of? They dared to bully my little brother. Not storming in is already me being nice!"
The casual motion made the two women behind her eyes sparkle. In unison, they thought:
So cool!
The gate guard nearly jumped out of his skin at the sight of Tsunade. He bolted inside, screaming for help.
"Captain Ryu! Someone's causing trouble at the Uchiha gate!"
The moment he burst in, he spotted the police captain training and clung to his leg in panic.
"What?!"
Ryu was shocked. Someone dared cause trouble at the Uchiha compound?
Then a thought hit him—this was his chance for promotion!
He puffed out his chest arrogantly.
"Whoever dares mess with the Uchiha is tired of living. Don't worry—this is my responsibility."
"Captain…"
"Enough talk! Gather two squads. Let's see who's bold enough to cause trouble here."
Ignoring the guard's attempt to speak, Ryu led a dozen officers in a grand march to the gate.
When he finally emerged, he spotted the troublemaker from afar and inwardly smirked.
Just a woman daring to make trouble here? She must be suicidal.
"Move aside! Don't block the way!"
He shouted at the crowd. The onlookers, intimidated by the police force, quickly scattered, forming a wide path.
"You are…"
Ryu strode forward confidently—until he got close enough to see her face clearly.
His eyes widened. He pointed in disbelief:
"Senju Tsunade?!!"
No one had told him the troublemaker was Tsunade!
"Are you an Uchiha elder?"
Tsunade sized him up, frowning.
Ryu swallowed hard. He didn't dare answer. His earlier bravado vanished—he wanted nothing more than to retreat.
But when he glanced back, his dozen subordinates were watching. There was no backing down now.
"N-no… I'm just the police captain. The elder is on his way."
Ryu's voice trembled slightly as he spoke carefully.
"Not the elder? Then how long am I supposed to wait for your Uchiha clan?"
Tsunade's temper flared. She'd waited long enough—and the first person out wasn't an elder, but a mere captain. Was this a deliberate insult to the Senju?
Chakra surged into her leg. She stomped once.
A massive crack instantly split the ground.
"Soon! Very soon!"
Ryu swallowed again, voice shaking.
The crack from Tsunade's stomp stretched right to his feet. His heart nearly stopped. Cold sweat drenched his back.
"Please, Princess Tsunade, take a seat while you wait."
Desperate to buy time, Ryu hurriedly had someone bring a chair, set it up personally, and gestured for her to sit.
"Hm?"
Tsunade's brows furrowed. Her glare turned murderous.
She's waited this long, and now they want her to wait more? Does this captain want to die?
Fists clenched, she prepared to storm in.
"Clan head, wait!"
Her two clansmen immediately jumped forward, faces full of panic.
"If you act now, we'll be in the wrong!"
"Let's wait for their elder. If talks break down, then we can act."
Tsunade considered it and reluctantly agreed.
"Hmph. Fine. I'll wait a little longer. If no one comes out soon, don't blame me for forcing my way in."
She sat down without ceremony, giving Ryu a final deadline.
"Y-yes, of course."
Ryu, who had nearly died of fright, responded meekly.
