Just after the battle between Voltan and Visko…
The baby was transported to a distant and remote area deep within the vast valley. It was a location Voltan knew his child would never be found, thereby passing the mantle on to his son. It was a tragic day for the boy, as he had lost both his parents. Left alone in the open, in the middle of nowhere, everything seemed hopeless. All the boy could do was cry. As it seemed he would die from the cold, an old man found him, picked him up and took him into his custody, raising the boy as if he were his own.
The man raised the boy as a son and disciplined him like a disciple by correcting every error, advising every mistake and building him up with morals and confidence. When the boy reached the age of seven, the old man began training him in combat, teaching him nearly all forms of combat techniques and defensive measures. This was to ensure the boy could defend himself against all forms of danger. By the age of nine, the boy had learned several ways to kill a man with a blade. He was nearly a match for his master in technique but not in ability.
You see, his master/his father was a former member of the Thunder Clan. He had retired from battle to live a humble and normal life, and the only one who knew his location was the late clan head, Voltan. When the boy reached ten years of age, his master, who went by the name Storm, began teaching him the basics of Thunder Clan techniques and skills. He wanted the boy to one day rebuild the legacy of what was once the Thunder Clan. Such a burden was placed on the boy's shoulders at a very young age.
This training was far more excruciating than his combat training. He was told that to harness the power of lightning, he must first understand its flow. To begin, he had to get accustomed to large volts of electricity. This was done through thunderstorm clouds and direct electrical strikes from his master. As days passed, the boy slowly became accustomed to the large volts of electricity. Within three months, he could withstand large amounts of electricity.
This was only the first stage of his training. The next was even worse. The boy had to stand at high points in the middle of rainstorms and attempt to redirect lightning. This training lasted nine months, as thunderstorms were rare during that period but he endured.
When the boy reached the age of twelve, Storm concluded his training and left.
Storm believed this was necessary to prepare the boy for the world. He felt that if he stayed any longer, the boy would only grow dependent and weak. And so, he left behind his home and possessions to his adopted son a twelve year old boy who went by the name Xavier.
