The opulent kitchen, a realm of polished marble and gleaming copper, became a canvas for chaos. The maids scurried like rats, their crisp uniforms a blur of terror, Sarah Williams stood utterly undisturbed.
Her gaze, cool and appraising, fixed on the grotesque spectacle unfolding. From the heart of the estate, directly through the pristine floor, a writhing, pulsing mass of flesh erupted. It swelled like a monstrous tumor, speckled with blinking, unholy eyes and gaping, its many drooling mouths that seemed to salivate with a primal, indiscriminate hunger.
"What kind of buffonery is this?." Sarah's voice, a low murmur against the rising tide of screams and crashing porcelain, carried an almost academic disinterest. "How utterly disgusting could one possibly be?"
The sickening squelch of flesh against shattered tile, the frantic cries of the maids were all mere background noise, completely silenced by the crisp crunch of a potato chip between Sarah's teeth, her eyes flickered with a look of annoyance at the situation. "Whatever this thing is, because of it, my mood is in tatters, I don't appreciate such obtrusions to my daily life."
With a sigh, she dropped the bag of chips to the floor, letting it drift from her fingers to the floor with a soft, dismissive rustle, her hand moved with a casual grace, snapped her fingers.
The colossal mass of flesh, still swelling suddenly started to contract, it buckled on itself, pressure squeezing it from every angle, the grotesque eyes bulged, the drool splattered towards the walls. Its body was forced to compress, solidified against its will.
Sarah tilted her head.
"It's rather resilient, or is this body far too feeble?"
[I need to strengthen this body, and this technique]
The maids, momentarily stunned by the creature's forced collapse, resumed their stampede, their terrified screams abruptly drowned out by a wet, grinding roar from the creature..
The mass of flesh extended outwards suddenly, a monstrous limb, thick as a tree trunk, rocketing towards Sarah with unimaginable speed. She didn't flinch. Her crimson eyes narrowed.
"How shocking." She said, with a straight face.
Three small white orbs floated around Sarah, white orbs, like bright light bulbs, radiating with an unseen force, completely halted the movement of the flesh, pulling away at the mass until it eventually stopped. The sheer kinetic energy, redirected, tore through the tiled floor beneath its massive knuckles, sending shards of ceramic flying.
"The fact that I need to use three to restrain you really surprises me."
Sarah was suddenly blasted through a wall, her eyes widened, debris floating around like an invisible protective shield.
Then, a sudden, blinding burst of force, slammed into Sarah. Her eyes, wide with momentary disbelief, registered the impact just before her body rocketed backward. She became a projectile, tearing through the reinforced kitchen wall with a splintering crash of wood and tile. A shard of polished oak, thick as her thumb, embedded itself just below her collarbone, a crimson bloom rapidly staining her delicate gown.
"How annoying."
She walked towards the still-straining mass of flesh, which remained frozen in place by the small, glowing white orbs. The debris of the wall trailed behind her, forming an ethereal protective shield that repelled everything in its path. Her face remained impassive, an unconcerned look in her eyes as she pulled the shard of wood from her skin with a squeak.
"I guess that taking even a small bruise is inevitable," She muttered, a flicker of annoyance in her gaze. "Whatever."
The flesh beneath the orbs began to boil and churn. It imploded, collapsing in on itself, before expanding outwards, morphing rapidly. It turned into a towering, humanoid creature, its colossal frame rippling with thick, ropy muscles. Its face was a terrifying blank canvas of pale, unblemished skin, like a template waiting for a nightmare to etch itself upon it.
"I feel as if I'm being disrespected."
Her eyes glowed a crimson.
"Bow."
Sarah's voice, calm and devoid of inflection, cracked across the opulent kitchen like a whip. Her crimson eyes pulsed, and the white orbs that had momentarily ensnared the creature now flared, radiating an invisible, crushing pressure.
The creature's blank face contorted, not in pain, but in forced resistance. Its massive frame, designed for power, shuddered. Thick, rope-like tendons strained beneath its pallid skin as its knees slowly buckled, a guttural groan ripping through the air. The marble floor beneath its colossal feet groaned under the immense, unseen weight, splintering outwards in intricate cracks. It was being forced, inexorably, to its knees.
With a shriek of grinding bone and tearing muscle, its skull slammed into the splintering floorboards, sending a shockwave that rattled the antique china on the distant shelves.
"You seem quite resilient, for a beast. I shall take this up a notch then."
The creature thrashed, a raw, formless rage erupting from its prostrate form. The white orbs around it shimmered under the strain, but held fast. Its large body pounced towards Sarah, slamming its arms down directly towards her.
She blocked with her arms, a small orb floated directly above the strike, lessening the impact for her arms as the ground beneath her caved in.
"You're getting stronger?"
[How fascinating, it's controlling the shape of its soul]
Sarah disappeared in a flash, reappearing right in front of the creature's face, Before it could react, her hand reached out, forming the shape of a gun with her fingers, a single white orb touched its cheek, pulling in the nearby debris. A piece of jagged debris, pulled from the shattered wall, arced like a razor and slashed across its featureless face, crimson ichor spurting from the gash.
The moment Sarah's feet touched the floor, a new white orb manifested from thin air, throwing it away with a silent blast. The creature, propelled by the unseen force, was launched through the gaping hole in the kitchen wall, hurtling through several more until it crashed into the grand hall beyond, a trail of pulverized stone and screaming maids in its wake.
Yet the creature stood firm, unwavering.
It swung its arm towards her, but Sarah disappeared from where she was standing, using its arm as leverage and launching a kick towards its face, pulling the creature in with an orb. Her leg, infused with a telekinetic repulsion, connected with its jaw.
The creature reeled slightly, but its other hand reached out, attempting to snatch her.
"Don't touch me."
The creature's arm, mid-grab, suddenly ballooned up. Its pale skin stretched taut, then ripped with a wet pop. A deep, dark red explosion of flesh, splattering the opulent hall in a shower.
The creature's destroyed arm regenerated in a fraction of a second, launching itself at her. It threw an uppercut, sending her flying upwards, through the towering ceiling of the grand hall, and out into the bright morning sky.
The wind whipped Sarah's brunette hair around her, her crimson eyes glowing. Below, the colossal creature, already regenerating from the exploding arm, stared up, its blank face unnervingly serene.
"Whatever you are, you're growing and adapting every single second that I keep you alive. I can see it, your soul is an amalgamation of hundreds of souls forced together unnaturally." Her lips curled into a dangerous smile. " Consider it your pleasure for it will be I that shall keep testing your limit."
The fallen debris from the shattered ceiling, marble, wood, and gilded plaster, began to swirl around her, drawn in by a single iridescent white orb. They compressed with a grinding roar, into a single, massive sphere. A boulder the size of a small building formed in the sky. With a silent command, she sent it plummeting towards the creature below.
. The colossal boulder slammed down, shaking the very foundations of the estate, sending a mushroom cloud of dust and pulverized material into the sky. Yet, through the settling debris, the creature walked, completely unscathed. Not a scratch marred its pale form.
She threw another orb directly towards him, pushing through its torso, yet it redirected the force, dashing straight towards Sarah, grabbing her head and dragging her across a building wall.
Sarah snapped her fingers, a loud burst pushed the creature away from her, straight into the ground beneath them.
She smiled, mana gathered at her heel, coming down onto the creature with a burst of glowing red energy.
The creature stood firm, launching a strike at her.
Sarah's barrier stood firm, unshaken, but the reinforced windows around them shattered into pieces flying into the creature's waist.
"Let's see how much more you can take!"
Sarah smiled, as the creature launched a flurry of punches, but her hands were equally as swift, blocking the strikes without as much as a bead of sweat dropping from her temples.
[It seems that this body is still far too weak, the barrier that I'm maintaining around myself can only completely block a few of those strikes from him]
Sarah grabbed the creature by the arm, swinging it around and throwing it directly into another section of the estate. Dust and dirt scattered throughout the area of impact.
"Come on, you amalgamate, do something."
A car suddenly flew towards her, an extremely polished and well maintained car, right in front of her face.
With a flick of her finger, it bursted from the inside, steel parts flying throughout the estate, some lodged into the walls.
More cars came flying towards her, but she walked through them like nothing, blasting a hole through each one of them, until it cleared a path for her.
She pointed her finger towards the pale figure. The orb shot through it, blasting a clean hole. As soon as the creature took damage, it instantaneously regenerated, the hole sealing with a sickening squelch.
As soon as the creature took damage, it instantaneously regenerated.
The maids began to scurry around it, some being crushed beneath its foot.
"Miss Agnes!! I-I'm going to die!"
"Martha! Run!" Agnes screamed, her voice hoarse, just before a massive, pale foot descended.
Splat. A sickening wet crunch, followed by a pool of blood and organs spreading rapidly across the polished floor.
The yells of the maid were drowned out, Sarah couldn't hear a single noise coming out of their mouths, she smiled, her focus entirely on the creature in front of her.
A tendril, tipped with a blade of condensed bone, shot towards Sarah, attempting to pierce her through the heart.
"Entertain me! Monster!"
Before it could connect, Sarah merely stepped aside, an almost imperceptible shift of weight. The blade sliced through empty air, carving a gouge in the polished stone wall behind her.
The creature swam through the ground as if it were water, jumping into the air and slamming down onto her with its large arms.
She immediately blocked the attack with her arm, reducing the force with a single orb that repelled its arm.
[Maybe I should start actually using my power instead of just the technique engraved in this body]
"Be glad! That I'm allowing you to witness my ability!!"
"Open an account!"
She waved her hand as a glowing, ethereal title appeared above the creature's blank head, shimmering like a divine inscription.
{Angel Account}
"Is that what you're named?"
Her eyes narrowed.
"An angel?"
Behind Sarah, a massive tome materialized. Its pages began to flip furiously on their own, illuminated by an inner, golden light.
The creature dashed towards her, a magnetic force seemingly pulling Sarah into its massive fist. It landed a straight blow towards her jaw, sending her reeling backward. A rich crimson spat from her lips as she stumbled.
The book behind her glowed, its pages fluttering faster. A halo of swirling, incandescent crimson energy appeared right above Sarah's head, pulsating. The faint, rhythmic scratching of an invisible pen scribbled furiously across the book's open pages.
"The shape, the shape of its soul is changing! You may be able to replicate the technique of this human's body. But, do you really think a monster like you can copy a god's true essence!?"
