It was July 30th, the day that had been decided for our delightful jaunt to the beach, everyone was free this day, so it was decided that we'd do it earlier rather than later in the holidays.
I arrived at the station with Sakurako and Randan. I had been with Sakurako before 11am, so we went to the station with Randan after I dragged him out of his house.
We arrived at the meeting place, a train station accessible to everybody that was 15 minutes from the beach. Waiting around for a while, within about 20 minutes everybody else had arrived. Randan greeted his girlfriend as Me and Sakurako laughed at him to each other.
"Where's Holly?"
"She messaged me a little bit ago saying she'd been called by the school to do her hours today"
"Bwah! That's just unlucky" I sighed.
"Well, let's get going then!"
Look, I can understand why Randan is popular with the ladies, but the guy couldn't hold a relationship for more than like, 3 months. He had built a reputation at middle school, and while he was cleaner here, plenty of rumours surrounded him, they were correct to be fair. Randan was a lady's man, he had many experiences and had done many things. I'm one to judge, and I just hoped that he'd find someone to stay with for longer than a few months or weeks.
"YO! Hurry up people!!" He was so eager, but it's not like I wasn't excited for it too, even if just a little.
"Let's hasten up then Daniel"
"Sure"
"I never told you why your brother left Daniel"
"I forgot about that, like completely"
"Your father's ill, he went to visit him in another city where he was in hospital"
"How serious?"
"Not massively but apparently his health is on the decline"
"Fine by me, I'll see him when he dies"
"You know, I thought the exact same thing"
"Do you regret it?"
"To be honest, I don't think I do. You have your reasons and I have mine, either way it's not like we're bound to love our fathers or
anything, they both practically left us behind"
"Exactamundo"
"Haha what's that?" Sakurako giggled as we continued to walk, reasonably quickly to keep up with Randan.
Before long we had arrived at the beach proper, setting up in an area, placing our mats and umbrellas to shade us from the sun. Randan nearly tore his clothes off to go into the water. Now that I looked at it properly he was well toned, thinner side, but muscular and well built in all fairness.
"C'mon people!! Let's make the most of this!" Randan was definitely excited, but this super over-the-top behaviour was an act, I could tell.
"Well then, I guess I'll get changed.."
"Me too. He's way too excited for this" Sakurako marvelled at the man's energy.
"Between you and I, he's just faking it till he makes it"
"Really? It's quite hard to tell"
"I can say with certainty"
"Wow so formal"
"Like you're one to talk"
I changed into my swimsuit with the rest of the male group members, Sakurako went off with the girls. The group returned to merge not long after.
"Alright, now we're ready!"
"Hell yeah!" Macsen, too, was pumped. His 'pump' was completely unfabricated though, he was just airheaded. Looking at him he was very well built, muscular and powerful whilst not being too bulky. He was 190 cm too, taller than me by a decent bit, and the tallest one in the group.
Sakurako drifted towards me, as I had hesitated to enter the water.
"Why so hesitant to go in?"
"I uhh.. I can't actually swim. I never learned"
"Really?"
"Yep, pretty embarrassing really, learned piano to perfection, studying, and all that stuff, but I am unable to swim"
"It is kind of sad actually. Fret not though, for I too, am unable to swim"
"Fret not? Pfft" Me and Sakurako shared another laugh at her stupid mimicry of me from earlier.
We ended up deciding to sit down at our spot, for now at least. We had plans to go into the shallow areas in a bit.
"You're really quite petite aren't you"
"Really? I've never thought about it"
"You definitely have"
I relented.
"Okay I have"
"Of course you have, how in depth though?"
"I have a 21 inch waist measurement, it's committed to my memory"
"Seriously? That's like a woman"
"Yeah I hear that I'm effeminate a lot"
"Your face definitely is too"
"Yep"
"You look very different to your brother. He's much more intimidating"
"Maybe because he's 200 centimetres tall"
"Possibly, his face isn't at soft as yours, much more masculine, but I prefer yours"
Sakurako hit me with that out of nowhere, smiling as she was, there was no teasing occurring here.
"Thank you"
"Your eyes are much prettier too"
I spluttered at the second one, she had caught me off guard there.
"I guess pretty people can talk as much as they like about looks huh?"
Sakurako didn't respond so I looked her way. She sat there with a 1000 yard stare, one thing I had never seen before though had happened.
"You're blushing"
"H-Huh??"
"Didn't know I was that smooth"
"S-Shut up.."
This was the first time I'd ever seen her flustered.
Sakurako continued her silence after that, but at one point or another, our hands met. Whether on purpose by either party or completely by accident, our fingers touched tips with the other. Sakurako's hand further went up, I looked over at her, but she was just looking straight forward to the group playing in the water. I decided that I didn't care who saw or whatever. I too, slid my hand slightly up, and before long her left hand and my right hand had connected completely. They were interlocked, meshed. We were actually holding hands. Her hand was soft, she took exceptional care of them. We sat for god knows how long, it felt like it had been seconds and hours at the same
time. I enjoyed times like this. For the first time in years, I was smiling genuinely, I laughed because of others. For the first time in years, I was happy.
I heard footsteps coming up on the sand, despite everything I chose to ignore them. Big mistake. A hand landed on my shoulder and a man whispered into the area between Sakurako and myself.
"What's going on here?" Randan whispered.
Sakurako and I jumped up immediately, caught completely by surprise.
"So what was that all about hmm?"
I was completely stunned, Sakurako was hiding her face but I could tell she was blushing right now. I needed to take action.
"Do you want to have kids, Randan?"
"Some day I probably will..Why..?"
"That's too damn bad"
I swung my leg into his crotch, landing a direct hit on the crown jewels. He crumpled to the floor so I took initiative as Sakurako
anticipated my move, taking the jacket she was wearing off. I grabbed her hand and ran down to the water with her.
"Good move there.."
"Thanks, it's my signature with him"
Arriving at the water, we planned to join in with the others. I looked at Sakurako and quickly examined her, as any normal man would do..totally.
Sakurako was definitely wearing a swimsuit I had thought she would wear, it was cutesy and frilly and didn't expose too much despite being a two-piece.
"Hmm, you're looking rather intently at me"
"U-Uh yeah, I just noticed something. I'll ask you about it later maybe"
"If you say so"
We joined the rest of the group finally, missing a certain incapacitated man.
"Where's Randan at?" Asked his new girlfriend who's name was uhh..
Haley? Or was it Bailey? I'm not good with names.
"He's uhm.. Not with us right now"
"Okay..Is he..alright?"
"No he's not. I think he's practically castrated"
"Huh!?!"
"He's at the spot we set up"
"Okay.."
His girlfriend left to go check on him, I hope that I gave him so much pain, that memory was erased from his mind. On the other hand, I never wanted to forget what had happened then.
Randan came, limping for some reason whilst holding his stomach. I had really done a number on him.
"You! You're done for!"
"As if, you're crippled"
"I'll get you when I'm well. Watch out!"
"You're so overexcited"
"After what I saw I'd say it's more than understandable!"
"You saw nothing"
"Yeah I did I s-"
I sprinted to him and cupped my hand around his mouth, whispering into
his ear.
"You must've mis-seen, you know it happens sometimes. Of course I could
go for round two"
Randan, fearing a second blow to the nads, refused to elaborate to the others what he had seen.
I had avoided a terrible possibility through violence, I preferred not to use this method, but Sakurako accepted it as the best method so I had no complaints.
