Chapter 1 - 001: A New Beginning.

They looked around the area nearby, not knowing where they are or any of what is happening, the pain coursing through their body makes them feel like they're dying, in fact, they wouldn't be surprised if someone told them they were.

The last thing Eun remembered was messing about with his friend Rein, and then... waking up in agony. After a few more moments his brain had finally cleared up enough to be able to focus on where he is, noticing a mirror already in front of him, he decides to look into it, not only to see an unfamiliar face instead of his, but to see blood streaming from his eyes, nose, mouth and even ears. Reaching his hand up to his nose he looks at the finger, now coated in the semi-fresh blood leaking from the stranger who he now was' nose, he knew he had no choice but to accept the reality of the situation, and the pain he was in was more than enough to tell him that this wasn't a dream, and if not a dream then how else could he be somewhere so unfamiliar, in so much pain and having a face he's never seen, he knew he may not know much about dreams, but one thing he did know was that the brain can't make faces you have seen before.

This was him, in agony, in an unfamiliar body, in an unfamiliar time and place, not knowing what was going on or even who he really was, his mind and body felt like they were being assaulted by the air around him, each sound making his head that much more, memories from two entirely different lives flooding into his mind, he knew he had lived a previous life in this moment, but he had no idea who he was, he could remember the faint memories of concrete cities and metal carriages, and from this life all he could remember was that a few things about his family and something called a beyonder. Soon enough more memories of both this life and his last came to him, he remembered his name at least, he was Eun, Eun Typhon, and his family was one chosen by a god to manage its lands. He couldn't help but feel a sense of lingering awe at just the thought of the deity.

Soon enough the pain had mostly faded and he could remember more. He had a brother in this world, called Rein, which the name felt oddly more familiar than it should, especially compared to the rest of his family. He knew he was currently just a plain old human, one without any powers like those of his family. And the the most important thing he knew was that he would turn 18 in 6 months. Why was this important? It's because his family had a tradition of giving their next in lines their choice of pathway on their 18th birthday, this came from the fact that the god his family worshipped had proclaimed 18 to be an adult, which he felt glad for, he'd rather have an idea of what was happening than have none.

As Eun slowly stood up, he could feel every muscle in his body straining and near enough tearing, it felt like his whole body was falling apart, and not in the good way- if their even is one, which he heavily doubted, even if this body seemed to believe their was.

This body? So that confirms it, subconsciously he sees himself as more of the past life than this him, maybe they aren't even the same person, just a soul shoved into another's body, well, he was pretty sure the original owner was dying when it happened anyway.

Finally having the chance, he decides to look around the room, noticing things he hadn't before when he was dazed, the room was quite luxurious, and there was even a book on his bedside table, moving over to pick it up, every movement sending waves of agony through him, he collapses once he reaches the bed, just close enough to be able to pick up the book and look at it. It was a journal, inside was a language both familiar and unfamiliar, Giant, a language that communicates with nature, the whole book had been written in it, the first dozen or so pages were mainly just progress notes following the body's workout structure, his fingers delicately turning each of the hand made book's pages, finally reach a new entry, well, one from the last month or so from what he could remember, looking over the written words it was clear that he had been frantic writing this. Words like "king of angels" and others kept making his head hurt just that much more, it was clear that he had seen something, something that he, a normal person couldn't handle.

After reading the book he couldn't help but feel panicked, what had this body gotten himself into before Eun had taken control? He had no idea and he knew it would be hard for him to get any real answers. Taking a few moments to calm himself down he gets up slowly, making his way to the connected wash room, in which he saw a larger mirror, in which reflected his form, now-dry blood on his ears, eyes, nose, and mouth, his shirt was also soaked in his own dried blood, lifting it he saw what could only be described as mutilation, it looked as though something had ripped him open from the inside, a large wound there, big enough for him to be able to vaguely make out his organs, the worst part wasn't the sight of his internals, it was more-so the healing of the wound, seeing the flesh pulling itself together was disgusting, and he didn't even know how his body was doing it.

After a few more moments of just staring at his chest in the mirror, the wound had managed to pull itself together, barely leaving a faint scar down his skin.

Collecting some water, he began to wash the blood off of his face and chest, making sure to get all of it off, after trying his hardest there was still some blood, though it was faint and smudged, now that his face was mostly clear of the blood, he could see what it looked like, the soft contours of his face, with some sharp angles, the eyes that could only be associated with the colour of blood, deep black hair, dark enough to look black even under the sun, his skin pale from not going outside for a while, his figure was well-defined, but nothing ground breaking.

He could tell the original owner of the body had put a lot of effort into ensuring the health of the body, which he could only be glad for leaving the wash room, he began to get changed, yet, only when half way through changing, he heard a long, sharp, knock at the room door, a mix of panic and confusion hitting him, trying to think who it possibly could be his thoughts were interrupted once again by the knocking it was clear that whoever was at the door had no intention of not coming in, only knocking to ensure that he knew they were coming in.

After a few moments he called out the words "come in" to the person at the door. The person's knock stopped mid knock, taking a moment before opening the door, once the door was open, Eun saw who had been knocking, an old looking gentleman in proper clothing, from his memory it was the family butler, William.

"Why are you knocking so much, William." Eun asked, trying to keep his tone neutral as to not let the butler tell anything is awry.

William responded quickly, "The master has called for you, and you hadn't responded to my previous knocking is all, young master Eun."

Eun was confused as to what the body's father could possibly want with him, knowing that whatever it was, was likely important. After a few moments he responded back.

"Tell my father I'll be down once I'm dressed"

The butler looked him up and down before asking, "Is that all, young master Eun?" The reply not helping with Eun's nerves at all. The butler followed up by saying, "Do you not wish to know whether young master Rein will be joining?" The reply made Eun question himself, he felt like the answer he had given the butler was in line with the self he could remember.

"Will he?" Eun asked, a last resort, hoping that the butler would just think that he had been testing him.

After a moment the butler replied, "He will." Clearly having thought that Eun had been testing him, to which Eun could only be glad he had thought of the response on the spot. After a few moments of silence the butler spoke once again, "I shall go inform the master of your lateness." Before leaving and heading in the direction of the family study, which was his father's study.

Quickly moving to get dressed, Eun found his usual clothes, a set of comfortable black clothing, tailored for him, yet another sign of the wealth of the family he had been reborn into. Once clothed, he stretched his body, feeling the remaining soreness in his body, before slowly moving through the halls towards his father's study.

The halls feeling as though they stretched infinitely beyond what they could and yet felt as though each step moved him half way down each, an odd sense of calmness washing over him with each step, eventually coming before the large door which was the entrance to the study.

The door was made of spruce and iron, lily symbols marking the materials and ensuring that each part of it felt unique. Eun knew why it was the lily in specific, it was the family's crest, the flower of the lily, each of the ones engraved onto the door were different in shape and size, some looked more similar to others than some but all were unique, an odd smell of blood coming from the iron of the door, a trait that came from one of the pathways controlled by the family, the hunter pathways, mainly the iron blooded Knight of sequence four. After a few moments of staring at the magnificent door with a sense of awe from the power needed to mark it so uniquely and deeply, he moved a step closer and knocked, each knock feeling heavier than the last, after his 5th knock. The master of the family, Eun's father, called from the other side of the door. The aura unique to a demigod filling the air with the single word he had said, "Enter." That was all that Eun could think after hearing the word, just the same word over and over bouncing around his mind, and before he had even realised it his hand was on the handle of the door, preparing to open it, his mind focusing at this moment felt like both a blessing and a curse, managing to be in control, but having to push past the instinctual fear of someone from a higher level of life than himself, especially from such a gap in rank. Managing to push past the fear with a few moments of self encouragement he pushes the door open, being hit by a wave of the smell of iron and blood, his father was mad about something and he could see his sibling, Rein already in the room, kneeling in front of his father's desk.
