Chapter 9 - Chapter 7

Dead… or not yet?

Where am I? Hell? Heaven?

Yesterday felt like a blur, half-dream, half-waking nightmare.

All I knew was that the unit chief had called me, wanting to check if my condition was as critical as his.

But now…

For a moment, a flicker of deep black appeared in Kayen's eyes as Vivian opened his own, before they settled into a more normal, human gaze.

The slender body shivered as the cold air brushed against skin bare of clothing on the dark-gray bed. Another body lay beside him in nearly the same state.

The broad-shouldered figure lay supine, seemingly still as stone, but a glance at the chest rising and falling proved the unit chief was still alive.

Vivian shook his head, trying desperately to piece together memories of last night. No matter how hard he tried, it remained a fog what had happened?

His gaze roamed over the face and the naked body before him.

Uncle… he's beautiful.

So stunning that even a man would feel his heart skip, the face and form sharp, commanding, yet calm. Even his mouth, relaxed and quiet, held a striking appeal.

The forehead's wrinkles had smoothed away in repose, and the pale, worn look from before was replaced by a vibrancy that made it seem like he hadn't been sick for weeks.

Muscles firm and toned, a body that hardly seemed forty years old.

As Vivian's eyes traveled down to the waist, they widened in shock.

The bite mark… the one on the waist… it's gone.

Whoosh!!!

Slender legs shot up into the air.

"Heyyy!!"

"Ugh… whose voice is that? So loud!"

"Uncle! Uncle!! Wake up!!"

"What the hell?! Someone's shouting!"

"Wake up right now! You need to see this come quick!"

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

"My bite… it's gone! Look at mine too!"

Whoosh!!!

The slim leg stretched dangerously close to Kayen's face, forcing him to dodge. His sharp gaze cut a warning at the overly excited figure, but he still followed Vivian's indication.

"Spread your legs… now… wait what?! Is that thing shriveled?!"

The big hand clamped down on the thin boy's groin. Vivian jumped back, mouth open to yell, but froze as he saw that both his own and the chief's… had returned to normal.

"Whoa… you're right! Mine too… wait! No—look at my calf, no bite mark! Yours too, uncle!"

"Yeah! Where did it go… are we… dead?"

Sure enough, as Vivian had said, the bite marks on the slim leg and broad waist were gone. Yesterday, both had been close to death from the wounds. The brow furrowed tightly, hands reached out to flip the thin leg, even lifted the other one to double-check but no trace remained. Not a scratch, not even a faint mark.

Smack!!

"Ouch! Why'd you hit my arm?!" Kayen's eyes narrowed at the slender figure who had just swung an arm.

"Uncle, are you hurt? I wasn't dreaming or anything!" Vivian replied with innocent eyes, as if he'd done nothing wrong.

Smack!!

"Ow! Why'd you hit my head?!" The big palm slammed into the small head. Vivian clutched his head and yelped.

"You okay?" Kayen asked, mischief glinting in his gaze.

"Yes… I'm hurt! What the hell is going on?!"

Vivian rubbed his head while Kayen held it, both feeling dizzy in a way neither had ever experienced before.

"I don't know… but my room's security cameras recorded everything."

"What kind of person sets up cameras in their own room?"

"I did. To track changes after being bitten. Didn't want to leave it to chance maybe you wouldn't have noticed a thing."

"Don't mock me just show me already! Stop whining like an old man!"

"Careful, or you'll get another one. Now put some clothes on, it's… gross!"

"Yeah, tell that to yourself!"

It took some effort to tidy the room before they could finally sit and watch the footage. In a single night, the once neat, empty space had transformed into a complete mess, scattered with clothes and items everywhere.

We cleaned the room, showered, and finally settled down to watch the footage together. The video stretched on endlessly, capturing every moment without limit.

Seeing themselves on screen, collapsing onto the sofa, was indescribable no words could capture the shock and disbelief.

Two bodies, different in size, sat side by side, stiff and almost ghostlike, as if their souls were drifting on a breeze.

Whoosh.

Faces blank, emotionless.

The more they watched, the more their mouths fell open. Eyes widened in astonishment at the audacity and intensity displayed in the video.

They couldn't believe such acts even existed in the world… or perhaps, it was simply the two of them acting like that?

Thankfully, the flickering lights spared them from being even more shocked.

The footage showed two naked bodies entwined, moving together with an almost animalistic hunger, kissing, pressing, reacting as if drawn by instinct. Both moved apart instinctively, despite sitting so close just moments ago.

It was like a usual adult film but a special one, interactive in a way, starring familiar faces. Faces that, when glanced at, mirrored the people sitting beside them.

Vivian's white hand reached for smelling salts, inhaling deeply to steady himself.

Kayen frowned, pinching his own hair, trying to fast-forward, rewind, and replay, over and over, ten minutes, half an hour, all the way into the morning. The pair in the video barely paused. No wonder the hardness that had lasted so long had finally softened.

"Good thing I was the one taking the lead. If it had been you… I might've bitten my own tongue. Hours on end… how could we go on like that without losing control? I didn't even drink how the hell did I manage?"

Kayen snapped his laptop closed after scrutinizing the footage.

"Did you ask me if I wanted you? Yours… is huge. I wonder if… it ever leaks when you have to go? It's massive."

Vivian looked down at himself, surprised that nothing was tense anymore, nothing hurt, despite the terrifying scenes they had just watched.

"Side effect of the virus, maybe? I rewatched it every time we… reached our peak, the bite wounds healed. Not a trace remained. What the hell is happening?"

Kayen looked down at his own waist, seeing smooth, unmarked skin, still unable to believe it overnight.

"I remember the scent… inhaling it knocked me out."

"Do you still smell it now?"

"I don't know. The wounds are gone; probably not."

"You okay with… what happened? I didn't mean to… if you feel violated, you can call me out. I'm ready to take responsibility for whatever I did."

Kayen glanced at the younger man beside him. Both were equally dumbfounded, eyes locking, innocence meeting innocence. Vivian smiled faintly, shaking his head.

"I can't believe you have this side… I thought you'd just be a stubborn, self-centered old man," he said, teasing as usual. Kayen had no idea how optimistic and playful Vivian could be; he expected scolding and complaints instead.

"I'm a top-tier officer; maybe you should follow the internal news sometime," Kayen said, gently pushing at his head, causing Vivian to bare his teeth playfully.

"So… what now? I don't understand any of this. Being bitten, then… losing control, and why did it have to be with someone ten years older, grumpy, naggy, full of himself… no choice whatsoever. Ughhh!"

Kayen rolled his eyes, exhaling. Could he even apologize for thinking the world was neat and orderly?

Smack!

"I didn't want you! Stop whining, go do whatever, and get back to work. People are waiting for vaccines with their eyes rolling!" He shoved Vivian's head, sending hair flying.

"Waaah! You used me and dumped me! I'll report you to the boss!"

Vivian pretended to cry, running his hands through his hair. Kayen couldn't help but smile at the absurdity. Even after everything, he could still laugh at how simple and goofy this younger man could be.

"Go ahead and report. I have the footage showing you mounting me, spreading your legs, and begging for more," Kayen said, tapping the side of Vivian's temple to signal, don't mess with me.

"Wow… that much?" Vivian shrugged in surrender.

"Yeah," Kayen replied tersely.

"All right, then. Consider it a draw. Don't get stuck on me I don't like older men," Vivian said, standing to leave the battlefield of love from last night, figuring there was no reason to stay if they weren't dead.

"Noisy brat!" The relaxed Kayen snapped back at being called old.

"Bye~" Vivian spun toward the door.

Thunk!

"Ouch!"

The slender leg kicked the center table hard, and a yelp echoed.

"You okay? Watch where you're going," Kayen's voice softened seeing the smaller man in pain.

"I'm fine, ask me!" Vivian glared, annoyed at the older man who had startled him.

"The table okay? If it's chipped, you'll replace it. It's not cheap~"

Damn it…

Annoying old man.

Vivian shook his head and walked straight out.

"Haha… kids these days don't know who they're messing with," Kayen muttered to himself, grinning.

About what he had felt during… last night… he didn't admit the truth. He just didn't want Vivian to know how good it felt.

His sharp gaze lingered on his own waist as he rubbed it lightly.

It still felt like there was a wound… just with no visible mark. Did it really disappear, or had it been absorbed into his body?
