Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight

"Why would you allow yourself to fall into this kind of place, Vincent?" The duo had gotten to the front of the hole without any way for them to leave. Miss Aimee was a bit frustrated as she began looking around for a rope or anything to help them leave the hole.

Just as her hands touched and pulled something that looked like a rope, the whole area in front of them suddenly leveled, so there was now a wide opening for them to leave the hole. It looked more like a cave now.

"Wow, that's odd... nevertheless catch up, Vincent. We have a long journey ahead, because nobody can tell how far into the forest you decided to wake up," Miss Aimee said, not thinking much about the phenomenon.

Looking back at the cave, Vincent realized it had disappeared. There was no big open entrance or a small hole. He was about to voice this to Miss Aimee but held his voice. The cave had served its purpose of giving him the First God's legacy and had no use again.

Miss Aimee had already started explaining things to him. It was just as she had said, they were currently in Nexus, another world entirely from their normal world, Earth. Before she dived deeper into things, she decided to bring to his knowledge that there were other Dreamwalkers apart from them , those that transmigrate from Earth to Nexus and those that transmigrate from Nexus to Earth. This information startled Vincent a little bit, as there could be some Nexusians in their midst during the day.

Nexus had just concluded a five-year world war. It was occupied by Humans, Elves, and Dwarfs, and just recently had they concluded the war over who was going to rule the world.

The Dwarfs wanted to rule the world as they provided the armor, swords, and almost every machinery. "The world depends on us," they claimed.

The Elves claimed, "We protect the world," as they possessed more refined, stronger, and a wider variety of magic than the other races.

While the Humans claimed to be "the more advanced race" since they could manipulate magic as well as use the sword.

"And after seven years of a meaningless war, they finally reached a treaty. They agreed to rule the world together and face the slow but steady increase of beasts , much stronger and different beasts. Took them long enough," Miss Aimee concluded as they finally reached Vincent's first battlefield. The beast's body was slowly rotting away, but it was no question that it was a beast and the kind it was.

"You killed this?" she asked, scouting around a little to take a closer look at the body. Some parts of its body were even missing; it seemed some other beasts had decided to enjoy a free meal. She also took a look at the stick Vincent had used.

"Well, yh..." he replied, his voice holding no feelings. He was still crossed with her for making him parade in such embarrassing clothes.

"I knew it!" she finally replied after a short pause. "Well, Vincent, I give you two weeks to grow stronger. Though I doubt however strong you grow in two weeks, you would be able to defeat me in a fight. But if I am satisfied with your growth, and if you show enough potential, I'll not do what I'm supposed to do. I'll probably make you do it instead."

Vincent was highly confused about her words. She wants me to grow stronger in two weeks? Why? What is it that she'll do to me if I don't? Even after asking all those questions, she just gave a short laugh, teased him a bit more, before continuing her explanation.

[Mission Update:

Grow much stronger to Princess Aimee's satisfaction

Timeline: 2 weeks

Rewards: ???

Failure: Slavery]

Vincent had half expected his system would bring up a mission related to what Aimee just said, but what he wasn't ready for was: Princess Aimee? She is a princess? And what the fuck? Slavery? I really have to start preparing!

He looked at Miss Aimee again. So she is a princess? But he decided not to say a thing and continue listening to what she was saying.

Power in this world was divided between Mages, those that could use magic, and Swordsmen those that could use the sword.

"Well, just so you know, I'm a mage. I'm a Necromancer," she concluded as she made a wisp appear from thin air.

[New Magic Detected

Do you want to copy the magic: Necromancy?]

Vincent, who was still voicing out his compliments on how cool that was to Miss Aimee though it was just to soothe her ego was shocked when the screen popped up in front of him, and just as he was about to give his reply

[You cannot copy the magic: Necromancy

Requirements: +1500 Mind]

Shit!!

Though he had no plan of copying the skill he preferred fighting on the front lines and a Necromancer usually sends its summons to fight and moreover it would be weird to have two Necromancers in a party, he was shocked when he saw the requirements. So Miss Aimee has more than 1500 points in Mind? That's brutal!!

"Well, we'll soon reach town. I just hope you decided not to wake up in the Elven Kingdom," she said since a town could be seen up ahead. "I'm not in a good relationship with them right now. Haha."

Who the fuck would not be in a good relationship with a whole kingdom!!
