Chapter 4 - 4 The Beast and the Fragile One

The man went to his room, picked up some clothes, and threw them onto the bed.

"Here. I got you some clothes so you can get dressed. Your clothes are very torn and… it's very cold. If you stay like that, you'll catch a cold."

"A cold?" she said. "What is that?"

"It's a disease humans get. Humans are very weak. Go on, put them on. There's a bathroom over there for you to change."

She had no other choice but to obey; her body moved on its own. Once again, she was trapped in servitude, which filled her chest with rage. Once again, she was being dominated — but this time by a being who was indescribable and fragile.

The man stared intensely at kaelira.

She really was very attractive, exactly his type of woman. Blonde, green eyes, short, with large, full breasts and thick thighs. Yes… he truly felt attracted to her.

But he needed to control himself. He was not an animal. Many men, in this situation, would certainly take advantage of her and drag her into bed — but he was different. He would not do that. After all, she was not an object.

At every moment, he felt his risk of death growing stronger. He was afraid, yes — but in her eyes he saw a kind of fear he had never seen in any other being. And he needed to make a decision.

He could abandon her there and throw her out of the house. But something told him he should not do that — that he would become a monster greater than the one he could already see in her eyes. An untamed monster that had to survive every second, that did not know what would happen next, and whose animal instinct grew stronger and stronger.

But he would not do that. He felt an obligation — one he did not even understand — to take care of her. And he would do it.

But he also did not want to die in the process, so he would have to be careful.

"What are you staring at, you useless human?"

"Despite all that anger, you're actually very beautiful."

"Beautiful?" She looked at him with a confused expression. "What is that?"

"It's when I look at you and I feel something — a good feeling."

"The only good feeling I've ever had," she said, "was when I caught prey and, after reproducing with it, I killed it by tearing its head off. Is that the kind of feeling you mean?"

"What?" he replied. "Are you crazy? That's not what I'm talking about."

"Oh… so you mean my body is attractive? So you're finally falling for my charms?" She laughed.

"What charms?"

"Even if you are beautiful, you're also very despicable. Not everything in existence is about sex, you know. Or reproduction."
