"Xiu are you sure that this is what you want" Mu Linfeng asked slowly
"Yes Dad and there will be no regrets" she replied firmly
"If you get into the national defense academy there's no room for failure, you will have to do your best" he said
"Don't worry Dad I won't disappoint you" she reassured him, her confidence soothed his worries and he also believes in her due to the determination he's seeing in her eyes
"There's no need to bring your documents because you won't be needing those old ones" Mu Linfeng reminded
"Okay Dad" she replied understanding his words then she left the room closing the door behind her. She went to her room and called Hong Li who picked up immediately the phone rang
"You finally remembered to give me a call" Hong Li scolded from the other line
"Sorry I was busy that's why do don't be angry" Mu Xiu apologized
"Nevermind I wasn't really angry, but girl you gave me a huge shock when I saw the Mu family" Hong Li said still amazed

Later in the evening her dad told her that the assessment will take place in two months time, he also told her not to tell anyone until after the assessment which she readily agreed. Two months passed quickly during this period she started exercising every morning, she read books about the Capital to get a sophisticated knowledge ahead of the upcoming assessment exam and sometimes she learnt needlework from Ling Rui.
She went for the assessment exams which her dad helped covered up , two weeks later she received a call that she has been selected and she will leave in a week time. She was so thrilled that she informed her father in his study room he was very happy. At dinner the whole family sat at the dining table as they are happily, Mu Xiu mind was focused on how to break the news to the rest of the family so she kept signalling her secretly who promised to help her but this action didn't escape the sharp eyes of Ling Rui
"Xiu do you and your dad have something to tell since you've been looking at each other" she asked narrowing her eyes. The brothers immediately turned their attention to them "Dad, why don't you go first" Mu Xiu said to her cowardly
"But you're the one that has something to tell everyone so it has to be you who would say it"Mu Linfeng said pushing the tolis back to Mu Xiu, he had the guts to do it but he didn't have the guts to tell his wife about his actions.
