"Kami-sama! Sorry to keep you waiting!" Qin Yan called out as he spotted the old Kami standing in the center of the lookout plaza with the Dragon Balls. He had clearly been waiting for quite some time. Feeling a sense of admiration for the old deity's patience, Qin Yan gave a hearty laugh.
"Haha! It was nothing. I should be the one to congratulate you both; your martial arts have improved significantly!"
Kami could not help but sigh with emotion. In just half a day, the strength of these two had reached a level that was simply incomparable to before. He was deeply curious about what race Qin Yan and Lia belonged to for their power to grow at such a staggering rate.
"Haha, just a small gain, not worth mentioning," Qin Yan replied modestly with a slight smile. "Alright, if there is nothing else, let's summon Shenron and make the wish. It's time to head to Planet Namek."
"Very well. Let's begin," Kami nodded.
Everyone turned their gaze toward the glittering Dragon Balls on the ground. Kami held his palms out over the orbs, his expression growing solemn. He took a deep breath and roared at the Dragon Balls, "Come forth, Shenron! And grant my wish!"
As the incantation ended, the lookout fell into a heavy silence. Suddenly, the golden light emanating from the ground began to pulse rapidly, the intensity of the glare growing with every passing second.
Qin Yan watched the scene with suppressed excitement. He had been looking forward to thisseeing the legendary Shenron with his own eyes. Beside him, Lia stared at the golden orbs with curiosity, while Mr. Popo stood by with his usual stoic, wooden expression.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
The seven Dragon Balls flickered faster and faster, emitting a high-pitched drone that sounded like high-voltage electricity humming right next to their ears. Within moments, the sky began to churn. Massive dark clouds surged forward, blanketing the firmament. What had been a clear, sunny day was instantly plunged into a terrifying, unnatural darkness.
The entire world turned black, looking as if the apocalypse had arrived. People across the globe looked up at the sky, their eyes filled with confusion and dread, unable to comprehend what was happening.
Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun...!
The "BGM" seemed to kick in; Shenron was about to appear.
"Ah... ah... the sky turned dark!" Lia gasped, her mouth hanging open as she gazed at the pitch-black void above.
Boom!
Peals of thunder echoed within the black clouds. Silver bolts of lightning rolled through the sea of mist like giant serpents. Suddenly, a series of thick lightning strikes cascaded down, followed by a serpentine silver bolt that struck the golden Dragon Balls.
The golden radiance of the Dragon Balls exploded outward like a physical shockwave.
Crackle! Pop!
A pillar of golden light erupted into the heavens. Within that light, a majestic, long green dragon manifested before their eyes. It spiraled through the air, its long whiskers dancing in the wind.
"He certainly has presence," Qin Yan remarked, slightly impressed by the dragon's imposing stature.
"Is... is that Shenron?" Lia whispered, her face full of awe as she stared at the giant, slender creature.
"Speak your wish. I can grant any wish you desire, but only one," the dragon spoke. Its crimson eyes stared coldly down at the people below, who looked like mere ants in comparison. Its divine, booming voice echoed across the heavens and the earth.
"It can talk!" Lia's eyes sparkled with amazement.
Damn, his style is off the charts, Qin Yan thought to himself. Shenron was acting incredibly arrogant, claiming he could grant any wish without even checking his notes. Qin Yan decided to humble him a bit.
"Can you really grant any wish?" Qin Yan asked, looking up at the dragon.
Kami, who had been about to speak, froze and looked at Qin Yan in confusion, unsure of what the young man was planning.
"Naturally!" Shenron replied with two cool, cold words.
"In that case, my request isn't too high. Just raise my strength to a level that surpasses a God of Destruction!" Qin Yan said with a mischievous grin.
Caw! Caw! Caw!
A metaphorical crow flew overhead. Qin Yan's words plunged the scene into an eerie silence.
"Er... I apologize, but I cannot fulfill that wish," Shenron suddenly said, his voice dropping as he gave a strained, awkward smile. His draconic features looked more pained than a ghost's.
"What's the matter? Didn't you say you could grant any wish? You can't even do that? It seems you're not all that great after all. If you can't do it, don't brag so much," Qin Yan mocked him mercilessly, not giving the dragon any face at all.
"Er... as long as it is within the scope of my power, any wish can be fulfilled," Shenron stammered, his embarrassment palpable. Beads of cold sweat literally rolled down the dragon's head. He wondered what kind of bad luck he had run into today to encounter such an anomaly.
Kami's jaw nearly hit the ground as he looked back and forth between the man and the dragon. He never imagined there was a wish Shenron couldn't grant. This realization shattered his worldview.
At the same time, he was deeply curious: who was this "God of Destruction" Qin Yan mentioned? Was it a deity on the same level as King Kai?
"Alright, alright, I'm done teasing you," Qin Yan said, waving his hand as he saw Shenron shrinking back in shame. Having achieved his goal, he stopped pressing the dragon.
Qin Yan turned to Kami. "Kami-sama, make the wish. Wish for Shenron to transport you and Lia to Planet Namek."
"What? But... what about you, my young friend? Are you not coming with us?" Kami asked, his heart full of confusion.
Lia blinked but remained calm. she knew her Brother Qin Yan would never leave her behind. She realized he probably intended to use Instant Transmission to follow them, so she didn't ask.
"I'll be there. Once you two arrive, I'll use Instant Transmission to catch up," Qin Yan explained slowly.
"I see. Very well then," Kami replied, enlightened. He turned back to the dragon, who was starting to look impatient.
"Have you decided on your wish? Hurry up and speak!" Shenron urged.
"Please send me and this little girl, Lia, to my homeland, Planet Namek," Kami said, pointing to Lia and looking up into the dragon's eyes.
"Very well. This wish is simple. I shall move you and the girl to Planet Namek," Shenron replied, his ancient voice resonating through the air.
"Aha!" Kami's face lit up with joy. Qin Yan also smiled.
Buzz!
Shenron's crimson eyes glowed with intense red light. Immediately after, Kami and Lia were enveloped in a brilliant white radiance.
"I'll leave things here to you, Mr. Popo!" Kami said a solemn farewell to his assistant.
Lia looked at the white light surrounding her with curiosity. Qin Yan looked at her adorable face and smiled. "See you in a bit, Lia!"
"Mm-hmm!" Lia nodded back at him with a sweet smile, knowing she was about to be sent away.
Biu! Shoom!
With a flash of white light, Kami and Lia vanished. Their presence disappeared from Earth instantly.
"It is done. Your wish has been granted. I shall take my leave now. Farewell."
Qin Yan reached out with his senses. He could feel Lia's energy far away in the distant starry sky. It seemed they had arrived safely on Planet Namek.
As soon as the dragon finished speaking, its body was shrouded in golden light. The light surged back toward the sky, and in a few moments, it condensed back into seven Dragon Balls floating in the air.
Qin Yan knew that once the wish was granted, the Dragon Balls would turn into stone and scatter across the world, becoming unusable for an entire year.
He looked up, his eyes instantly locking onto the position of the Four-Star Dragon Ball. Part of the reason he had stayed behind was for this specific orb. He wanted to catch it before it could disperse.
As the Dragon Balls began to rocket away, Qin Yan leapt into the air. With two quick swipes of his hands, he snatched the Four-Star Dragon Ball and one other.
He landed gracefully, looking at the orbs that had already turned into white stone. In his left hand was the Four-Star Dragon Ball, and in his right was the Two-Star Dragon Ball. A smile spread across his face.
For the sake of the plot's development, he planned to return the Four-Star ball to Son Gohan and give the other one to Bulma.
