Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Blood Debt — Kill Every Celestial Dragon

Sea Calendar Year 1483.One year before the God Valley Incident.

East Blue.

A seventeen-year-old boy knelt before a jagged slab of stone, driving his fists into it again and again. Skin split. Knuckles burst. Blood smeared across rock.

He did not stop.

"Celestial Dragons…"

Another strike.

"You filth."

Another.

"You animals. The rot of this world."

His voice shook — not with fear, but with something deeper.

"One day… I will erase you from existence."

His name was Rono.

More than ten years ago, he had transmigrated into this world — the world of pirates. At the time, he had been no more than a child.

In a sea ruled by strength, where pirates roamed freely and the weak were crushed without hesitation, survival was never guaranteed.

But he had been fortunate.

A young couple had found him. Taken him in. Raised him.

For more than a decade, he had grown under their care — quietly, peacefully.

In his heart, they were no longer adoptive parents.

They were his mother and father.

And two days ago—

They were murdered.

Not for rebellion.

Not for crime.

Not even for insult.

They were killed because a Celestial Dragon felt bored.

The so-called nobles of the world descended upon their town in gilded coats and transparent breathing helmets, escorted by armed guards.

Then, casually—

They raised their rifles.

Gunfire erupted into a crowd of civilians.

To them, it was sport.

Commoners were livestock. Swine. Cattle. Creatures unworthy of breathing the same air.

And livestock could be slaughtered at will.

A bullet pierced his mother's chest.

She fell instantly.

His father screamed her name.

That sound would never leave Rono.

His father seized an axe and charged forward.

Not because he believed he could win.

Not because he thought he would survive.

But because love does not weigh odds.

The guards fired first.

The Marines followed.

Bullets tore through flesh.

His father's body was riddled with gunfire.

He died standing.

Rono saw everything.

His legs nearly collapsed beneath him.

Pain crushed his chest, as though someone had reached inside and ripped out his lungs.

Revenge.

The word took root.

He tried to rush forward.

"Rono, stop!"

"They're Celestial Dragons! You'll die!"

Four, five neighbors restrained him. He struggled like a wild animal, teeth bared, vision blurred.

But he was forced to watch.

The Celestial Dragon stared down at the corpses.

"They're dead already? How dull. I expected more struggle."

He spat on them.

Then he left.

No punishment.

No consequence.

Because someone stood above him.

Because the World Government existed to protect monsters like him.

Even if they slaughtered civilians on a whim, nothing would happen.

In his previous life, Rono had hated the Celestial Dragons from a distance.

Now—

Now he understood what hatred truly meant.

His family had been erased without reason.

These creatures had no right to rule the world.

They would pay.

A price written in blood.

Kill.

Kill them all.

Every Celestial Dragon.

The thought sharpened until it was absolute.

But resolve alone was meaningless.

If he wanted revenge, he needed power.

The Celestial Dragons were guarded by elite soldiers. If one were harmed, the Marines would dispatch an Admiral.

To destroy them all, he would need strength capable of opposing both the World Government and Marine Headquarters.

"For Father."

"For Mother."

"I swear it."

His emotions surged past restraint.

And in that instant—

[Emotional threshold exceeded. Conqueror's Haki acquired.][Divine Pickup System activated.]

Rono froze.

Then his breathing steadied.

A system.

As a transmigrator, he knew what that meant.

Opportunity.

In this world, strength was the only true currency.

Grief could wait.

Power could not.

He wiped his face and returned home.

Through the night, he studied the system's functions.

By dawn, he understood.

The Divine Pickup System allowed him to collect abilities.

Any ability.

The three types of Haki. The Six Powers.Martial arts.Swordsmanship.Physical attributes.

Everything.

He could even absorb Devil Fruits to rapidly strengthen specific aspects of himself.

There was no visible upper limit.

His potential was terrifying.

Haki. Devil Fruit powers. Swordsmanship. Physical combat. Even innate talent.

All of it could be raised to the strongest level in the world.

He would become the most terrifying existence alive.

He would storm the Holy Land.

He would slaughter every Celestial Dragon.

Only then would his parents rest in peace.

Rono clenched his fists.

"Open system interface."

A translucent panel materialized before him.

Aside from Conqueror's Haki, he was still ordinary.

But he was no longer helpless.

And as he stood there, he felt it clearly—

Since awakening Conqueror's Haki, something about him had changed.

The air around him felt heavier.

Sharper.

Different.

He was no longer just a grieving boy.

He was becoming something else.
