"That is funny, but I must let you know that now is not the time for jokes. The Archive keeper is-" Malcolm cut him off
"a fable? That is what you believe right, but what about you Wildborns are you also not a fable to the humans?"Malcolm asked.
Her argument was sound but it also had a single flaw, they were proof that their kind exists what about the Archive Keeper? What proof was there of their existence? Nothing. And they would remain a legend until proof of their existence is revealed.
"But there is proof of our existence, what about the Archive keeper? What proof is there of their existence?" he asked back.
This time it was the night walker who spoke;
"Is the knowledge of their existence not enough?" she asked
Nigel shook his head slowly, what nonsense was that? The idea of something's existence did not mean that the said thing itself existed, humans had a term for things like that: Conspiracy theories.
"In a limitless universe you dare put a limit on your mind, what right do you have to dispel a higher being's existence just because it does not make sense to you?" the night walker asked again her voice still oozing with calm indifference.
He stared at the night walker with nothing to say, but that did not mean that he was considering Malcolm and Sai's words to be true. Malcolm looked at the night walker with pleading eyes, the night walker nodded and she got off the sofa and approached him.
"You want proof here is your proof." she place a hand on his temple and closed her eyes.
"Archive entry 001." that was the last thing he heard before everything went dark.
…
Nigel fluttered his eyes open, it was as if he had been asleep for a very long time. The first thing he saw was Malcolm starring at him with an expectant gaze, he cleared his throat and asked; "What...was that?"
"What do you think it was?" she asked smiling.
Nigel had just finished witnessing events that spanned over two hundred years, he witnessed the events inside someone else's body. From the person's creation up until the present, he had seen it all. Nigel looked at her with new light, "Your life."
Malcolm nodded and went to sit down happily, Sai broke the silence once more; "Experiencing memories over two centuries old is not child's play, why don't you rest up and we will continue this conversation tomorrow?"
Nigel shook his head, he sat on the floor next to the shelves.
"I am listening." he spoke his voice calm and deep.
"Now, I'm sure you are wondering what is it that we want with you? well its simple really we are here to protect you. Your safety is of utmost importance, do not ask us why we do not know too we are just following orders."
"I see, what about her?"he pointed at the night walker.
Sai was about to talk when the night walker raised a hand shutting him up, the temperature in the room dropped and her crimson eyes glowed.
"I am called Hazel Dwight, I am what you call an emissary for the Archive Keeper and i am also the
the one responsible for the three of you."
The temperature slowly returned back to normal, the glow from her eyes receded and her expressionless eyes bore at him making him feel unease.
"You are well aware that me and you are natural enemies right?" he asked meeting her gaze.
"Do you consider me your enemy?" she returned the question.
Currently he did not know, everything that was happening he had not seen it coming at all. The current development had just threw a wedge into his carefully plotted schemes. The only option left was to start from scratch and consider his new allies when planning, though if they were truly sent by the archive Keeper then he could relax and let them do the stressing after all they did say that his safety was of utmost importance.
"At the moment i am not quite sure, maybe things will change in the near future." he responded.
Hazel nodded and stood up, "In that case see you tomorrow."
Before he could say anything she had left the apartment leaving only her scent lingering, he turned to Malcolm and Sai giving them a brief look before he got up and went to his room. He could no longer look at them the same, and yet he felt compelled to believe their claims.
"What did she mean when she said see tomorrow?" he stopped at the corridor and asked without looking back.
Sai smiled and winked at him, "You will see."
hearing his response he continued to his room leaving the two all alone, he was burnt out for the day.
The next Morning
Nigel was on his way out, it was still too early and he had decided to skip breakfast after everything that had happened yesterday he was still not ready to face Malcolm and Sai bu t when he reached the door he caught the Hazel's scent.
But what was she doing outside of their apartment so early in the morning? He took a deep breath and tried to calm his fast beating heart, this woman made him feel things he had never felt before and that fact scared him.
He opened the door and stepped out to be greeted by a beautiful site, she stood in the hallway like a living portrait her crimson eyes gleaming with a depth that felt both arresting and dangerous. Her long golden hair flowed down her back in soft, deliberate waves catching the light as though each strand had been sun kissed. She wore a velvet two piece suit that was tailored to perfection. The fabric hugging her figure with restrained authority, she turned to him and looked him up and down.
"What are you wearing?"
