Going through that wall didn't tickle and Raven was bleeding heavily. He knew he had to have damage inside of him. This wasn't something that he had planned for. He didn't think that Moira would send her goons after them at The Cannery, and that must mean she knew about this place all along. He spit up some more blood and he started to breathe heavily. His eyes locked on the werewolf.
He didn't want Silas and Kara to get involved with this, but in his heart he already knew that they were involved. He looked over to the wall he went through and then the werewolf casually walked into the cannery.
"You and your little group have been on our radar for quite some time," the werewolf said as he walked toward Raven and then began to crack his neck and loosen up both of his shoulders to get limber. Raven could tell this wasn't going to be easy—the werewolf was preparing for a real fight. Now he didn't entirely expect this kind of blowback from his victims.
This didn't surprise Raven at all. The Graves control everything in the city now—why wouldn't they know where their enemies were? He had a few things to worry about right now, and that was Silas and Kara and if any of the other members would show up. Showing up mid-fight would not be good. He didn't want anyone else to get hurt, and by the way this werewolf was acting, he assumed that he liked to fight.
He wasn't thinking about all the internal damage. His body felt tight and he was in excruciating pain. They both just stood there, and that wasn't because he was trying to wait out the werewolf—it was mostly because Raven couldn't really move. He let out a visceral caw and then transformed into his were-crow form. His face and head contorted into a beak and the head of a crow, and then the wings sprouted out of his back. Blood started to drip from his shoulder blades and onto his black wings.
Raven stumbled back a few feet and then got his bearings. His wings flapped as he rushed at the werewolf. He caught the werewolf with an uppercut, and with that he vanished behind him. He wrapped the werewolf up in his arms and flew into the air a few feet. Then he flew at the ground with breakneck speed. Both were screaming. They got a foot from the ground and Raven just threw him down. There was a giant thud sound as the werewolf hit the ground.
Raven was breathing even heavier now, and he watched the werewolf push itself up off of the ground. It was covered in blood and it was getting matted in its fur. The wolf spit some blood on the floor and looked over at Raven.
"You know you're not the one we wanted," the werewolf snarled. "We wanted Tobias."
"Guess you're stuck with me, doggy," Raven said as he looked at the werewolf and he started to plan his next move.
The werewolf made the next move and rushed toward Raven. It used its claws to scratch and cut Raven's entire body. Raven started to bleed out heavily. One giant cut on his torso began to bleed heavily—it was like something inside of him turned on a water faucet of blood and it was hitting the floor at a very fast pace.
"Fuck!" Raven said. With his free hand, he put it over the wound on his torso. He was applying pressure to it and trying to stop the bleeding. It didn't feel like it was working, and he looked down at his hand—it was almost fully red. He could feel the blood on his hand; it was sticky and wet.
This felt like the end for him and there was really no way he could defend against another attack from the werewolf, and he was ready to lay down his life for the murder. He closed his eyes and he was waiting for the final attack from the werewolf and that is when he heard it. A gun fired; it wasn't from any gun that he had on him.
He opened up his eyes and saw the werewolf dead at his feet. There was a giant gaping hole in the wolf's head and blood started pouring out of the wound. He looked and saw Silas and Kara standing behind the werewolf. Silas was holding a pistol with a smoking barrel on it.
Silas looked over at Raven, smirked, and then said, "I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father. I aim with my eye."
It was obvious that Silas had read the book in the safe a few times. Silas and Kara walked over to Raven. Kara looked him up and down, trying to figure out how hurt he really was. She didn't really care for patching up the boys after they've gotten into a scrap. It was what she did though.
"You are going to need to get on something steady so I can patch you up," Kara said as she looked at Raven's torso.
Raven moved his hand from the giant gash on his torso. The bleeding had stopped. All the blood had dried to a darker, almost black color. Raven and Kara walked to another room where there was a metal table and a first aid kit. Kara opened the first aid kit and started to patch Raven up as he turned back into his human form.
As Kara was tending his wounds, all Raven could think of was how Tobias was doing. He was hoping that he didn't die. The wound on his torso was covered with bandages. Kara smiled at her handiwork and she clapped her hands together.
"All done!" Kara said, her voice still quite innocent—she sounded like a little child that was happy that she finished her assignment.
Now that Moira has figured out where their clubhouse was, they needed to pick up and move. They didn't need to bring everything to a new location, just important stuff like the gun safe and important documents. He looked at Kara and gave her a small smile.
"Thanks." He hopped down off the table and walked out into the main room. Silas was walking around, trying to assess all of the damage.
"We gotta move him," Raven said as he motioned to the dead werewolf.
"Let's load him into the back of the van and put 'em on The Graves' doorstep," Silas said, and he laughed.
"We gonna fuck you up real bad," one of the brutes said. He made a snorting sound like he was a rhino.
"Yeah, boss wants your head," the other brute said. He cracked his knuckles as well, and he had heavy footsteps. They were heavier than a normal brute's footsteps. These guys were special.
Tobias waited for them to come a little closer to him. The light shone down on these two and they were different than the normal brutes he has come across. They were a warthog and a rhino. Did Moira have to hire some new muscle to deal with him? He chuckled at that thought. Might be fun to smash these fuckers' skulls.
Had Moira needed bigger and better lackeys because she was scared of him? That is what he was going to tell himself. His eyes were locked on both of these freaks of nature. The truth was that he was a freak too. In another life they might've been friends. He didn't see how anyone could work for that bitch. He didn't want much, just to rescue Ella.
"You might've bested the doggy, but you've never tangled with me," the warthog snorted, and it began to rub its foot on the ground like it was about to start running at Tobias.
The warthog launched itself at Tobias at full speed. All Tobias did was jump up in the air. The warthog went headfirst into a metal wall. Tobias could hear the warthog sputtering—it had said some curse words under its breath. He couldn't make out what they were.
A drawn out fight might not be in Tobias's wheelhouse. He didn't want to transform right now. Getting into his were-crow form hurt him a lot, and he needed all of the strength he could muster up. Sure the were-crow form gave him an extra strength and speed boost. Was it worth it though? He had to recover for almost a day and a half after he used it last.
"You pissin' me off, birdboy," the warthog snorted, and it then smacked its head to get itself psyched up and then came after Tobias again with his head aimed at Tobias's chest. Thud! The warthog hit Tobias and toppled him over. The warthog mounted Tobias and started pounding on his face. Blood and flesh started flying everywhere.
"Hahah! You ain't so tuff, bird boy!" the warthog gloated.
Bringing Tobias back to the boss lady dead was going to get him a big bonus in his check, and he then began to laugh. This was the easiest money that he had ever made, and at that moment Tobias felt his breathing getting heavier and he was blacking out from the pain and the blood loss.
Tobias had never felt like this before—the world was slowing down and all he could see was this big thing on top of him. The punches had stopped coming and his vision was fuzzy and he couldn't focus on anything right now. What was happening to him? A voice in his head started talking to him.
"That all you got, boy?" the voice asked him.
"Huh?" Tobias asked, and he wasn't sure if it was a real person or if he was dreaming. There was something standing before him; it looked like a were-crow, something that he was. He tried to reach out to it and it then disappeared from his sight.
"Fuck..." Tobias said. He still wasn't entirely sure that he was awake or even alive. He mustered all the strength he had to push the warthog off of him. He got back to his feet, his face was busted open and pouring out blood from his forehead. His shirt and jeans had also gotten bloodied.
"How are you standing again?!" the warthog asked in a shocked voice, and it had to stand back up as well. Tobias looked like a walking corpse at this point, blood everywhere, and truth be told Tobias didn't know how long he could go. His body wanted to shut down.
"Don't worry I'll put you down for good this time!" the warthog said as he scraped his foot against the concrete and then ran toward Tobias with his head down once more. The warthog got as close to Tobias as it could be. Tobias flashed in toward the warthog and grabbed its throat and crushed it in its bare hands. The warthog went limp, and he threw the carcass on the ground. He then looked at the rhino.
"Money ain't worth this," the rhino said. It got a case of the jitters and ran out of the garage. He walked into the other room and untied Marcus and Ms. Cheng from the chair they had been tied to.
"You look like shit, man," Marcus said as he looked at Tobias.
"Thanks, man," Tobias said, and he faked a smile. His teeth were red and covered in blood, and he then spit out the blood on the ground in front of the two.
It felt like everything was going to be alright. Then Tobias felt the world get black and hazy around him. He fell to the ground and passed out. The blood loss and exhaustion had gotten to him. Maybe he should've transformed into his crow form in that fight but he didn't really want to rely on that form so much.
