Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 A Little Interesting

After all this happened, Jiang Wanzhou took four or five minutes in the bathroom fixing his hair before returning calmly.

As soon as he sat down, Shen Minglang said:

"Little Jiang, do you want to bet something on the final? My cousin has already asked me to bet for him."

Jiang Wanzhou, being the real cousin, threw him a look and asked with curiosity:

"Cheng Zhu, what did you bet?"

"I bet that Germany and Argentina draw 0:0," replied Cheng Zhu with sincerity, explaining what the 0:0 meant.

He knew that Jiang Wanzhou would soon ask how much he had bet, so he anticipated saying:

"Trust your brother Zhu and bet the same."

"I don't trust you, you know nothing about football," said Jiang Wanzhou with an annoyed tone.

Shen Minglang asked:

"So, are you going to bet or not, little Jiang?"

"Yes, I'm going to bet that Germany and Argentina draw 0:0, I will bet 2,000," said Jiang Wanzhou.

He didn't understand anything about bets, nor about odds, nor about exact scores, and he didn't care.

He just wanted to participate and feel that he was part of it.

"Wow, you said you didn't trust me!" laughed Cheng Zhu.

"I don't trust you, I have a... an intuition," said Jiang Wanzhou.

"It's your good luck that I'm betting too, I give you a luck boost, you'll win for sure."

Cheng Zhu shrugged, without comments.

He knew Jiang Wanzhou's character, he knew he would definitely make the same bet as him.

The purpose was that in the end everyone could share the same emotions: if they lost, they would curse together; if they won, they would rejoice together.

Cheng Zhu, naturally, wasn't going to suggest he bet more, even if Jiang Wanzhou had enough capital.

"A small bet is entertainment, a big bet is harmful, gambling addicts end badly."

"It's just a game, I don't want him to get used to winning too much, because that would be a bad start," thought Cheng Zhu.

Personally, he was convinced that gambling addicts don't end well.

"But this isn't gambling, if you don't know if you are going to win or lose, that is gambling. This is simply cheating."

"It's a trick for experts, fools shouldn't try it."

After Shen Minglang also bet for Jiang Wanzhou, he immediately turned to his sister with a smile and said:

"Xiao Ning, I'll bet a little for you too, if you win, it's yours, if you lose, I pay."

"It's not necessary," replied Shen Qingning directly.

"No problem, otherwise, you'll be bored here. I'll just bet the same as little Jiang," insisted Shen Minglang, trying to please his sister and join the excitement of the 0:0.

As mentioned before, Shen Minglang is a direct person and a bit of a show-off. His sister was so beautiful and had such a good temper that it gave him a lot of prestige in his circle, so he spoiled her quite a bit and considered that no one was worthy of being his brother-in-law.

As a man, he understood men too well.

"You brats, dream if you think you can conquer my sister."

Shen Qingning, seeing his insistence, said nothing more.

"As you wish, take me home before 12 if you want to watch the match, you can come back later," she told Shen Minglang.

The final started at 3 in the morning, and she couldn't stay awake that long, that was bad for the skin.

"Okay, look, I haven't drunk even a drop of alcohol because of that," replied Shen Minglang with a mischievous smile.

With everyone talking and laughing, Jiang Wanzhou even forgot to ask how much Cheng Zhu had bet.

On the other hand, in Li Xinyue's group, Chen Rongrong said with a dilemma expression:

"I feel like watching the final here, but I don't want to go home so late."

She knew nothing about football, but she had bet 500 yuan, and the atmosphere in the bar was quite pleasant, she wanted to join this wave.

She had even just posted on her social networks that she had bet, hiding the post from her family, and there were at least a dozen boys commenting below. She liked having something in common to talk about with them.

"Then call later and say you'll stay at my house," suggested Li Xinyue.

"Okay, okay!"

Of course, Li Xinyue would also lie to her parents saying she would stay at Chen Rongrong's house.

Li Rui, upon hearing all this, was delighted. This meant he was the first boy with whom Li Xinyue would stay up all night!

He even started to feel lucky.

Near twelve, Shen Qingning got up and asked Shen Minglang to take her home.

"Little Jiang, cousin, I'll be back now!" said Shen Minglang smiling.

After Shen Qingning got up and spoke with Shen Minglang, she headed directly to the bathroom.

Shen Minglang went first to the bar to check the night's accounts.

Li Xinyue, who had been observing, saw that Shen Minglang entered the bar and couldn't help saying:

"Why did he go in there? He is talking to the staff."

"Could it be that he is the owner of this place?" speculated Chen Rongrong boldly.

After saying this, she looked at Li Rui.

After all, on the way there, Li Rui had said that he knew the owner of the bar well.

Li Rui turned pale and quickly improvised:

"He might be one of the shareholders, but he isn't the owner I know."

Chen Rongrong and Li Xinyue looked at each other, and the two girls began to whisper, wondering why Cheng Zhu would be sitting at the same table as a shareholder of the bar.

Actually, Chen Rongrong was more interested in the girl sitting in front of Cheng Zhu. Her appearance and temperament were truly outstanding, in school she would definitely be a goddess.

Besides, she seemed like a girl from a good family, with a distinguished air.

But Chen Rongrong was sensible enough not to talk about this with Li Xinyue.

"Oh, Cheng Zhu has also gotten up! Oh, he's going to the bathroom," said Chen Rongrong as if she were a war reporter.

Li Xinyue got up suddenly and said:

"I'll go talk to him!"

With a frown, she headed quickly towards the bathroom.

Li Rui, seeing the scene, opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but couldn't, feeling suddenly frustrated.

Outside the bathroom, Cheng Zhu was stopped by Li Xinyue.

"Cheng Zhu! What are you doing in the bar?" asked Li Xinyue directly.

Cheng Zhu looked at her askance, didn't answer her, and continued walking towards the men's bathroom.

The bathroom area was separated by a curtain from the outside, which made Li Xinyue speak and act more boldly.

She grabbed him and, with an expression of anger, asked: "What kind of attitude is that?!"

Cheng Zhu looked at her speechless, thinking that this girl had a problem.

"Really, people are different," he thought.

In his past life, he had met girls of his same age who were already "mature" to the point of hugging him and whispering in his ear:

"It doesn't matter if it happens, I'll take a pill."

But there were also girls who always believed they hadn't done anything wrong.

The last fight between them was because Li Xinyue brought a "Boyfriend Test" from the internet and asked Cheng Zhu to answer it, promising him that if he didn't pass, he would be in trouble.

Cheng Zhu had seen the absurd questions and had no interest in answering them.

They were questions like:

"If your mother and I fall into the water, who would you save first?"

Cheng Zhu didn't want to take that exam, and after arguing, Li Xinyue got angry.

Afterward, she wanted to break up, but this time Cheng Zhu didn't comply.

At this moment, Cheng Zhu just stood there looking at her, until she let go of his clothes.

For some reason, Li Xinyue felt a bit nervous looking into his eyes. She felt that Cheng Zhu's gaze had changed, but she couldn't pinpoint how.

"It's okay to do a little drama when we are dating, but now that we have broken up, we should separate on good terms, okay?" he said calmly.

"Just for that?"

Li Xinyue got angry again, looking at him with anger.

Of course it wasn't just for that, but they hadn't had a long-distance relationship yet, so the later events hadn't developed.

At that moment, Shen Qingning came out of the women's bathroom, cast a casual glance, said nothing, simply washed her hands, ignoring them.

Li Xinyue suddenly felt uncomfortable and didn't continue talking.

Shen Qingning's aura was too imposing, too cold.

On the contrary, Cheng Zhu didn't care if there was someone else there or not. He shrugged and said with a smile:

"Yes, just for that. Haven't I said it before?"

"I've already told you several times and you still don't understand, so let's drop it. I don't want you to feel unhappy, nor to seem ungenerous."

Having said this, he stopped paying attention to Li Xinyue and headed to the men's bathroom.

Shen Qingning, who had finished washing her hands, took a paper towel and began to dry her long, delicate hands without paying attention to anyone.
