Nyssa passed out before I even reached her bed.
I lay her gently on it, pulling the covers over her so she would not be cold.
Glass shards lay on the floor with drops of blood from where she hit me. I knew she would do something like that, Nyssa had always been strong-willed, but she was also naïve, it was how Rowan was able to manipulate her.
I cleaned up the shards, not wanting to leave any chance for her to hurt herself or me before finally leaving the room and locking the door behind me.
The second room was a decoy… a sound proof room hidden behind my laundry room. I pushed the wooden door open, locking it behind me before replacing the washing machine right in front of the opening. No one would even think to search for her here, and that was the point of it.
