The Gamble of Fate
Seeing the countless glowing options hovering inside the Divine Harem Ascension System, Lucien swallowed and muttered,
"Oi, Isabella… where do I find the cultivation manual for my mom?"
Isabella's voice drifted lazily through his mind.
"Go to the Mysterious category and look for something called the Fate-Weave Relic. What comes after that… is up to you."
Lucien followed her instructions. Rows of strange icons floated past until he stopped at a stone tablet engraved with a swirling sigil shaped like a living magic circle. It felt ancient just to look at it.
A description unfolded in glowing letters.
[Fate-Weave Relic]Price: 8,000,000 coins
A fragment of destiny condensed into a single tablet. When activated, it will transform into a grimoire perfectly matched to the user's potential. It can become an unparalleled treasure… or worthless junk. Spin fate and find out.
Lucien exhaled slowly.
"So… it's a gamble. Either something incredible… or trash."
Isabella yawned.
"Pretty much. Everything in the Mysterious category carries some randomness. But even the worst outcome here will beat the low-tier manuals lying around the Wild Faction. And don't forget—your mother's new body was also shaped by the system."
Lucien narrowed his eyes.
"You better not have done anything weird to her."
"Relax. I don't alter people—I adapt them. And since she's your Eternal Pair, she's already bound to you far deeper than you realize."
Lucien hesitated. Almost all the other categories were locked.
[Restricted due to the current level of the host]
This was the only real option.
"If this thing responds to potential…" he thought, glancing at Evelyn, "then there's no way Mom will get something bad."
He confirmed the purchase.
Ding.

"After spending nearly all my money, at least I get a bonus," Lucien muttered.
A stone tablet appeared in his palm. He turned it once, feeling its faint warmth, then handed it to Evelyn.
"You can open your eyes now, Mom."
She did—and studied the tablet curiously.
"What is this, darling? A spell book?"
"It's called a Fate-Weave Relic. Just hold it and say 'Realize.' It'll become your cultivation manual."
Evelyn's eyes glimmered. The thrill of discovery stirred in her—the same feeling she had when she was young and magic still felt endless.
"Realize."
Light erupted.
The tablet dissolved into radiance and reformed into a golden emblem engraved with a sword on one side and a crowned helm on the other.
Ding.
[Your Eternal Pair has obtained: "Chronicle of the Trinity Valkyrie – First Volume"]— Morrigan's Triad —
Lucien felt relief—anything with "Valkyrie" in the name had to be powerful.
But then he noticed Evelyn's cheeks had turned pink.
"Mom…?"
Without answering, she placed the emblem into his hands.
A new screen bloomed.
[Chronicle of the Trinity Valkyrie – First Volume: Morrigan's Triad]A divine legacy left by Morrigan, the Deity of War, Passion, and Renewal — the trinity of Maiden, Mother, and Beloved.Only the rightful bearer may walk this path.
Rank: Unknown (Growing Type)
Isabella burst out laughing.
"Pfft—hahaha! Looks like fate ships you two harder than I ever could."
Lucien groaned.
"Stupid system…"
"Mom, you don't have to accept it if you don't want to."
Evelyn smiled softly.
"Lucien… whatever this grimoire leads you toward, it will take you far beyond where I once stood. If this path lets me keep walking beside you, then I'll take it."
She accepted.
Ding.
[Chronicle of the Trinity Valkyrie bound successfully.][New function unlocked: Shared Vision]Eternal Pairs may now access their own Status and Skill Web Chart.
Evelyn gasped softly as a translucent interface appeared before her.
[Evelyn Superbia]Race: High-Class DemonAge: 18 (reborn)Cultivation: Chronicle of the Trinity Valkyrie – First VolumeEmotional State: Happy / Excited / Amazed
She looked like a child discovering a miracle.
Lucien smiled in relief.
"At least she's happy…"
Isabella snorted.
"Honestly, she'd make a better host than you."
Lucien chuckled.
"Maybe. But… thanks for bringing her back."
And for once, Isabella didn't tease him.
