"Damn!" Meridine says as we see her get up from her bed, her hair completely tousled.
She glances at the alarm clock and realizes she's up early for work and needs to get ready.
"I've really gotten the hang of waking up early," she says as she heads into the bathroom.
She looks at herself in the mirror and notices how much her hair has grown.
"I really need to get that cut," she mutters as she opens the cabinet and grabs her toothbrush.
After a while, she finishes getting ready and gives herself one last look in the mirror.
"This shirt really highlights my breasts. No wonder they keep staring," she says before leaving her room and stepping into the hallway toward the stairs.
"Give me back my phone, Stephanie!!!" Jonathan shouts, stretching his hands toward her.
"No! I need to know who's taking all your time!" Stephanie yells, dodging his attempts to grab it back.
"Those two should just admit they like each other already," Meridine thinks as she walks past them and heads to the dining table.
"Morning, Josephine," Meridine says as she sits down.
"Morning, sweetie. What will it be?" Josephine asks, eyeing the pancakes.
"The usual," Meridine replies.
Josephine smiles and places a plate of pancakes in front of her.
"I'm pretty sure those are the only things that can melt her cold heart," Bianca says teasingly.
Meridine ignores her and continues eating.
"Thanks, Josephine. I'll be on my way now," she says, leaving the house.
She gets into her car and adjusts the rearview mirror.
"I managed to be on time," she says as she drives off.
At the gate of her firm, the old security guard greets her.
"Hey, Meridine. Good morning. Have a great day today."
"Thanks, Pablo. You too," she replies with a smile.
She takes the elevator up to her floor. When the doors open, rows of cubicles come into view. She steps out and heads toward her own.
"Woah, look at the ass on her."
"God, I'd probably die from ecstasy fucking her."
"Dan is such a lucky dude to be able to hit that."
The comments trail behind her as she walks past.
She reaches her cubicle, boots up her laptop, and starts going through the work she hasn't yet sorted.
"Did your boobs grow?" a voice says from behind her as a hand gropes her.
"Is that how you say good morning, Janelle?" Meridine asks flatly, not even reacting.
"I'm pretty sure that's how I've always said good morning," Janelle replies with a smirk.
"So how do you greet the men, then?" Meridine shoots back, smirking.
Across the office, a man flirts with a girl near the coffee machine.
"Does he do anything other than flirt with every girl, or has he forgotten he's dating you?" Janelle asks, irritation clear on her face.
"Don't worry. I know what to do with him," Meridine says calmly.
A man approaches her cubicle.
"The director is calling for you."
He walks away.
"What does the director want with you? Are you in trouble?" Janelle asks worriedly.
"He rarely calls us personally," Meridine says as she stands and heads to his office.
"Where's she going?" Dan asks.
"Wouldn't you like to know, fuck boy," Janelle snaps before walking off.
"Director, you called for me," Meridine says as she enters.
"Take a seat, Meridine," he says.
She sits across from him.
"I value hard work over everything. I hate lazy individuals," he says, tapping his pen.
"I know, sir. That's why I work so hard," she replies.
"And I've noticed. No one works as hard as you here. That's why I've decided to give you your own office," he says, smiling.
"Are you serious, sir?" Meridine asks, smiling.
"Dead serious. They're putting your name on a door right now."
"Thank you so much, sir. You won't regret this," she says, already standing.
"Wait, I didn't even tell you about the salary—" he starts, but she's already gone.
"Girl, you're getting your own office!"
"Yesss!" Meridine and Janelle shout, jumping excitedly.
"I always knew it would be you," Dan says, kissing Meridine in front of everyone.
"I want us to celebrate, Dan. The usual place," Meridine says as she pulls away.
"For sure. I'll be there," he replies.
"You're still going out with that douchebag?!" Janelle yells.
"Trust me, Janelle. You want me to do this," Meridine says with a smirk.
Later, Meridine arrives at the Grandview Hotel. At the reception desk, she's handed a key and told Dan is waiting.
She enters the room and finds Dan naked, pouring wine.
"This is your celebration, my queen," he says, rushing over and kissing her passionately.
She begins undressing. Dan pushes her onto the bed and kisses her neck, making her moan softly.

"I'm back," Meridine calls out.
"Hey, welcome back," Jonah says from the couch.
"You're the only one up?" she asks.
"Yeah, my favorite series comes on around this time. Wanna join me?" he says, making space.
"Normally I'd say no," Meridine thinks with a smile, "but today's been a good day."
"So," she says, sitting beside him, "what do I need to know?"
