Chapter 13 - Anisha and Ishaan meet again—unexpectedly.

"Hey, I asked you something," Ishaan said again, his tone firmer this time."What are you doing in my house?"

When Anisha didn't reply, he repeated the same question.

After hearing Ishaan, Anisha had no idea what to say.

Because even though Arvik had given her the status of a wife,Anisha herself didn't consider herself his wife.

In her heart, she believed she could never truly be Arvik's wife.

She was just… waiting.

Waiting for Aditi to return.

Because in Anisha's eyes, the only person who truly deserved to be Arvik's wifewas Aditi.

After thinking for a moment, Anisha opened her mouth to say something—

But no words came out.

Seeing her behavior, Ishaan was genuinely surprised.

And honestly, his surprise was justified.

From his point of view, it was a very simple question—yet Anisha looked like she was struggling to answer it.

Of course, Ishaan thought.

She's reacting like I just asked her the toughest UPSC-level question, one she has absolutely no answer to.

Anisha knew one thing very clearly—

If she answered Ishaan's question, it would only give rise to more questions.Questions she wouldn't be able to answer.

Taking a deep breath, she finally looked at him and said softly,"Actually… I—"

Before she could finish, Ishaan interrupted her gently.

"It's okay," he said."If it's difficult for you to explain, you don't have to."

With that, Ishaan walked downstairs toward the hall.

Anisha stood there, silently watching him leave.

Suddenly, a faint smile appeared on her face.

Looking in his direction, she thought to herself,"I've only met this guy twice… but somehow, it feels like there's a strange connection."

In the Hall

As soon as Ishaan reached downstairs, he dialed a number on his phone.

After a few rings, a voice came from the other side.

"Hello! And wow—my Ishu finally remembered his friend today?"

"Don't call me Ishu," Ishaan snapped irritably."It sounds too girly."

"Oh really?" the other guy laughed."My Ishu is angry now?"

Ishaan got annoyed—but said nothing.

After all, he needed a favor from this guy.

The person Ishaan was talking to was Aman Khurana.

Aman was Ishaan's close friend—and a detective.

Digging up information was child's play for him.

That's exactly why Ishaan had called.

"Aman, I need something important from you," Ishaan said, his voice serious.

Hearing the change in tone, Aman replied just as seriously,"Yeah. Tell me. What do you need?"

Aman fell silent, waiting.

After a brief conversation, Ishaan ended the call and sat down on the sofa in the hall.

Meanwhile…

Anisha stood outside Grandmother's room, lost in thought.

God… please give me strength, she prayed silently. So I can ask Dadi for permission to go to Arora Mansion.

Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door.

Grandmother was reading a book.Hearing the knock, she allowed the person outside to come in.

Without looking up from her book, she said,"Karuna, bring me some water."

She assumed it was Karuna who had entered the room.

Anisha, who had just stepped inside, stared at her in confusion.

She had imagined the worst—taunts, insults, harsh words.

But water?

That was something she had never expected.

Without saying a word, Anisha quietly stepped out of the room.

Grandmother was so absorbed in her book that she neither noticed Anisha entering—nor leaving.

Outside, near the Kitchen

As Anisha was walking toward the kitchen to get water for Grandmother, she suddenly stopped when Karuna appeared in front of her.

Karuna looked at her with concern and asked,"Anisha, where are you rushing off to like this?"

"Karuna aunty," Anisha replied quickly,"I'm going to get water for Dadi."

She was about to leave—

When Karuna stopped her.

"But I'm already taking water for Maaji."

Hearing this, Anisha froze.

And then it hit her.

Grandmother hadn't asked her for water.

She had mistaken her for Karuna.
