Chapter 4 - Anisha was admitted to the hospital.

Arvik stormed out of the house, rage burning through his veins.

His jaw was clenched, his fists tight on the steering wheel as he drove recklessly, the car cutting through the empty roads at terrifying speed. His mind was drowning in betrayal, anger, and pain—so much that he barely noticed the world around him.

Meanwhile…

Anisha had already stepped out of Ishaan's house.

His home was located far away from the chaos of Mumbai—isolated, silent, almost deserted. There were no vehicles in sight, no people nearby. With no other option, Anisha had to walk.

Winter had gripped Mumbai tightly.

Cold winds pierced through her skin, making her shiver uncontrollably.

She was still wearing her bridal outfit.

The heavy red fabric that once symbolized marriage now felt like a curse clinging to her body. The cold seeped through the thin layers, making her teeth chatter.

She folded her arms tightly around herself, rubbing one hand against the other as she walked.

"So cold…" she murmured to herself.

Then bitterness spilled from her lips.

"God… I don't understand what you want from my life. Every time I think something good is about to happen, you drop another bomb on me."

"I have no home left. No job. No direction. What will happen to me now? Where will I go? What will I do?"

Lost in her thoughts, she didn't even realize when she reached the main road.

She was standing right in the middle of it.

Before she could understand where she was—

A car slammed into her with brutal force.

The impact sent her body flying.

The screeching sound of brakes tore through the air as the driver slammed the brake pedal and jumped out of the car.

People gathered instantly.

Pushing through the crowd, the man reached the center—

Anisha lay unconscious on the road.

Blood flowed freely from her head, staining the road beneath her. Her condition was critical.

The man who had caused the accident froze for a second—

Then without hesitation, he lifted her into his arms.

He rushed toward his car, gently placing her on the back seat before taking the driver's seat himself.

He looked at her once.

Then started the engine and drove straight to the hospital.

At the Hospital

Within minutes, Anisha was rushed into the emergency ward of the city's largest hospital.

She had lost a dangerous amount of blood.

Doctors worked urgently—blood transfusion, emergency procedures—while Anisha remained unconscious.

After what felt like an eternity, the operation was completed.

Her condition stabilized.

When the doctor stepped out of the emergency ward, the same man stood waiting anxiously.

"How is she?" he asked, his voice tense.

"Don't worry, Mr. Jindal," the doctor replied calmly."Your wife is out of danger now. She'll regain consciousness soon. You may meet her."

The man finally breathed in relief.

That man—

Was Arvik.

He had admitted Anisha as his wife.

What he didn't know—

The girl whose accident he had caused was the same woman he had abandoned on the road the previous night.

Arvik's speeding car had hit her when rage clouded his vision and darkness blurred his sight.

He hadn't recognized her then.

Only later—when he saw her face clearly—

He realized the horrifying truth.

When Anisha Woke Up

Anisha slowly opened her eyes.

Bright lights. White walls.

A hospital.

Surprise flashed across her face.

She turned her head slightly and scanned the room.

That's when she saw him.

A tall, broad-shouldered man stood nearby—handsome, composed, yet burdened with something dark.

Her eyes widened in shock.

"You?" she whispered.

"I mean… you left me on the road last night. Then how are you here?"

Arvik exhaled deeply.

"The car that hit you… was mine," he said quietly."And I was the one driving it."

He pulled a chair closer to the bed and sat down.

Anisha stared at him, her face unreadable.

"Why did you save me?" she asked bluntly.

Her question stunned him.

He looked at her intensely before replying.

"Last night, I threw you out of the car in anger," he admitted."I wasn't in my senses. I couldn't think straight."

"I needed time to understand everything. And at that moment, leaving you alone on that deserted road felt… right to me."

Her lips curled into a bitter smile.

"So that's your justification?" she mocked softly.

Arvik clenched his jaw.

"Listen," he snapped."You don't get to taunt me like this. You're not innocent either."

"Who asked you to marry me?"

Anisha's eyes flared.

"Oh, hello. First of all, I never wanted to marry you."

"And secondly, if you want to blame someone—blame Aditi, not me."

"Everything I did was only to protect my family's honor."

Her words hit him hard.

Arvik fell silent.

After a long pause, he finally spoke.

"Maybe… you're right."

"Neither you nor I are truly at fault. Circumstances trapped us in a relationship neither of us chose."

Realization dawned on Anisha's face.

She had gone too far.

"I'm sorry," she said softly."If my words hurt you."

He shook his head slightly.

"It's okay."

They exchanged forced smiles—fragile, hollow, painful.

"Excuse me," Arvik said after a moment."I need to take an important call."

He stood up and walked out.

Anisha watched him leave.

A faint, unreadable smile appeared on her face.

What do you think?

Will Arvik ever accept Anisha as his wife?

Is this the beginning of a new bond… or a deeper conflict?

What fate awaits them next?
