Arian immediately used the bag he had brought with him as a shield, but the Tier 1 Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolf tore it open almost instantly. Little did the creature know, this was just a distraction Arian had thought of on the spot. He used the opening to stab the Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolf in its side with his dagger.

The Tier 1 Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolf fell to the ground, howling in pain. Arian noticed that the other Tier 1 Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolves were still paralyzed.
"It seems like this one didn't eat the meat. I guess it's survival of the fittest," Arian muttered. "Thirty-seven seconds until the paralyzing effect wears off."
He slowly approached the wounded Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolf, which was losing blood rapidly. Arian decided to end its suffering, but the creature, sensing death approaching, became terrified and ran.
Arian quickly hurled his dagger.
The blade stabbed into the wolf's leg, sending it crashing to the ground. Unable to move, it let out a weak, low howl.
Arian didn't pay it much attention. It couldn't escape, and he only had thirty seconds left before the paralysis on the other seven Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolves wore off.
He took his second dagger and approached the paralyzed wolves. Seeing Arian made them furious; if they could move, they would have torn him apart without hesitation.
There wasn't a shred of mercy in Arian's eyes. If the roles were reversed, they would have killed and eaten him without a second thought.

Arian didn't really pay much attention to the notifications and quickly dug out the Corrupted Base Cores from the upper backs of the fallen wolves, clearly he didn't want any funny business this time.
After that, he turned his attention to the wounded Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolf, which was slowly losing consciousness.

After collecting the final core, Arian placed it with the others inside the torn bag. He wanted to consume them immediately, but decided it would be safer to do so at home, if anything went wrong, his parents could take him to a hospital.
Next, Arian decided to investigate the area where the wolves usually howled.
He approached cautiously, unsheathing both daggers and staying alert. He expected another wolf guarding the area, but none appeared.
"It's seems like a new pack," he murmured.
What he found instead left him stunned.
A vast field stretched before him, over five hundred meters wide and six hundred meters long. There were no trees, only tall grass nearly two feet high, and some uneven hills. Under the brilliant moonlight, a cool breeze and deep calm filling the air, the scenery was breathtaking, he wasn't expecting this.
Arian climbed a one of the hill. From there, the moon seemed even closer.
"No wonder those Tier 1 Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolves love this place," he murmured.
He sat down, breathing in the cool night air as a strange calm settled over him.
Suddenly, his left hand touched something wet.
"Please, no…" he muttered.
He raised his hand and sniffed it.
"…It is." he said helplessly.
Hybrid Sun-Moon Wolf poop.
"Damn... this is just messed up," he said
He jumped up and rushed to a nearby bush, wiping his hand with its leaves. While doing so, his attention was drawn to something faintly glowing in the soil.
He took out his dagger dug carefully around the object and pulled it out.
A Corrupted Base Core.
Shocked, he continued digging, and found ten more.
"I've hit the jackpot! Hahaha!" Arian laughed, nearly kissing the same hand that had led him to this discovery.
"Dogs bury precious things… and wolves come from dogs, right?" he muttered.
He searched the area thoroughly. After about an hour, he uncovered seven more Corrupted Base Cores.
"My luck is golden!" Arian exclaimed, grinning like a fool.
"It's getting late. I should go," he said, after finding no more.
Counting the cores, his excitement surged.
"Twenty-six cores… talk about a fruitful harvest. Yesterday I was cursing those wolves, but who knew it would turn into a blessing in disguise?"
Arian wrapped the cores securely in the torn bag and left Giaya Forest. By the time he reached home, the sun was beginning to rise.
He climbed through his window and went straight to wash his hands. Afterward, he changed into his night clothes and lay on his bed, hoping to get at least two hours of sleep.
Then he remembered something.
"Status," Arian said.

"All right. Let's do this." Arian said as he swallowed the core.
