Chapter 7 - The meeting

Greed had spent many days training his body, learning to use weapons, and refining his skills. Over time, he discovered a cave deep in the forest, a place that would become his home. The cave had become a symbol of his transformation. No longer the boy he once was, Greed was now something different, something stronger.

One night, while he slept soundly in his cave, he felt a presence. His eyes snapped open. There, standing at the entrance, was a boy. Greed recognized him immediately—the boy who had saved him.

The boy moved lazily, almost carelessly.

"Anybody home?" the boy called.

Greed didn't respond, watching him silently from the shadows.

The boy shrugged. "Well, if you're not gonna say anything..." He yawned, stretched, and laid down, falling asleep almost instantly.

Greed blinked in surprise. "He came over... and is actually sleeping?"

Hours passed as Greed remained perfectly still, not daring to make a sound. He had learned to wait, to observe, and to use his patience to his advantage.

Finally, Sloth stirred. "Wow, what a great sleep I had," he murmured, stretching.

Greed spoke, his voice low but steady. "Sloth... is it really you?"

Sloth blinked, eyes still half-closed. "Who are you?"

Greed frowned. "You don't remember me? I'm the boy you saved."

Sloth blinked again, then yawned. "Do I know you?"

"I'm the one you took down the huge beast for," Greed replied, his voice tinged with curiosity and hope.

"Oh," Sloth said, barely registering the words. "Yeah, I guess that happened."

Greed's eyes brightened for a moment, but Sloth didn't seem to remember the significance of the event.

Greed pressed on. "So what's your name?"

"Sloth," came the indifferent response.

"Sloth," Greed repeated, as though savoring the name. "I'm Greed. What a beautiful home you have here," Sloth added, his tone flat.

Greed chuckled. "I have so many questions."

Sloth immediately sank back onto the ground. "Keep them to yourself. I tried, but I'm going back to sleep."

"You just woke up," Greed pointed out, unable to hide his surprise.

"Yeah, well, I'm going back to sleep anyway."

Greed sighed, shaking his head in disbelief. "I didn't even get to ask anything..." he muttered to himself, standing up. "Oh well. Guess I'll go hunt."

But before Greed could leave, he heard something strange. A voice—one he hadn't expected.

"Greed, son of the Great Leader. One of the prophecies. Future King of the Apple."

Greed turned, startled. There, standing in the entrance of the cave, was Silver.

"Silver," Greed said, his voice filled with disbelief. "You can speak after all this time?"

Silver, looking shocked, nodded. "I'm sorry to say, but I'm here to kill you."

Greed's heart skipped a beat as Silver lunged at him, moving faster than Greed could react. But just as Greed saw an opening, Sloth's voice rang out, stopping Silver in his tracks.

"Too much noise," Sloth said, not even bothering to sit up. He yawned again, uninterested in the confrontation.

Silver paused, glaring at the lazy figure who spoke so casually.

"Who are you?" Silver demanded.

Sloth sighed, still not opening his eyes. "Does it matter?"

Silver blinked. "Not really," he muttered, turning his attention back to Greed.

Greed, now facing a difficult decision, spoke up. "Are you going to help me?"

Sloth opened one eye, looking at Greed for the first time with a hint of acknowledgment. "I guess. But if I do, you have to let me live here with you."

Greed smirked, feeling the weight of the situation. "Deal."

Silver's eyes widened, clearly surprised by the turn of events.

"I am the Right Hand of the Apple. You will die," Silver declared, his voice cold.
