Chapter 4 - 3 In order

Ducking down to avoid a blow to the head, I threw the pale jade colored mana crystal, it shattered on impact, and a shower of water filled the room, washing away the blood. what looked like black roots revealed themself to me.

It attacked again and I dodged it by moving to the side, my shoulder getting grazed in response. I threw the cyan mana crystal. It also shattered on contact but this time it froze the black roots still.

The shoulder of the human figure in my vision turned yellow, it seems it's my body's condition.

Taking a deep breath of relief, I threw the purple mana crystal at the frozen roots.

It also shattered like the previous two, the root stayed frozen but I could clearly see it being roasted by the electricity under the ice.

Now the final crystal, I threw it, much like the rest of them. It shattered on the impact but along with it, the frozen root also shattered, like a glass hit with stone. However it felt more like it was vibration that made it shatter.

It was a good strategy, first the Drench spell covered it in water then it was frozen by frost spell then roasted by electricity and then shattered leaving no hope of it getting back up again.

' whatever it was, It wasn't an entity It was but a part of it Other parts should be on the way sensing the disturbance and damage to its down If my theory is correct more of it should be on the way I should Collect as many mana crystals as possible and get out of this room '

' and I just know where to go '

I just followed the humanoid hologram quietly... it was like a reconnacence spell I engraved on mana crystal... generally the reconnaissance spells work like how a human explorer would it goes forward and if it faces danger it vanishes but this spell is an original spell of mine...

works on similar principle but instead of unknown spaces it needs to have information on the surroundings before hand, and a clear goal to reach... it works while feeding on the memories of the spell caster to get around... and my memories are still hazy good thing im starting to remember things slowly.

Walking down the corridor,I glanced left and right again and again to make sure I didn't miss anything.

"Why are these small roots not attacking us?" pointing at the small roots around the corridor, I murmured.

seeing as the hologramic human didnt show any reaction to them, I went in close to inspect them.

small red roots were drinking blood from the surroundings, I've about something similar before... where... where... where ugh...

right I remember its a plant type monster! feeds on animals and is usually stationary its not found in cities only in deep forests...

from what I remember its directed into 3 parts, main body, feeding roots and attaching roots... as the name suggests main body should be somewhere, feeding roots feed on the Prey while attaching roots are attackers that attack the prey and defend the main body.

but it shouldn't be capable of doing this even if it did come into city... is it a variant or maybe a mutant but... maybe its in process of mutating and evolving thats why it came into city to look for a large source of food... I need to get to the room fast.

Moving along the hallway I spread the small mana crystals, while keeping bigger ones in case I need to fight the big roots again.

Taking the stairs up, then taking a left turn, then a right turn, then once again taking stairs.

I finally arrived at the second topmost floor of the building as the map of the building stated.

Hotel or inn, whatever this huge maze-like building has more than 14000 rooms judging by the number plates on the doors, each floor has roughly 700 rooms.

The room I arrived at has a number plate on it and the number is 13523.

From the outside it was like any other room I passed by before arriving here. The other rooms I had passed by were covered in blood.

Blood strains on the ceilings , Walls , toilets... Everything was covered in blood.

With each step I took to come this far I trampled on someone's remains.

Just the thought of it was revolting enough to make me want to vomit.

Putting in the code told by the system, I Opened the door of the room. To my surprise, it was clean. There was no blood, no intestines, no eyeballs, and no flesh, just a normal luxury room.

Just as I thought... my theory was right!

All the other rooms which were covered in blood were covered in blood because someone was in the room when they exploded if no one was in the room it would be clean and most importantly not affected by the roots as they are attracted to blood.
