Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Floor Three

The Admin Room was quiet.

Arthur stared at the failure report without surprise.

"They never learn from numbers," he said softly.

"They learn from loss."

"Floor Three will test choice," Arthur continued.

He raised his hand before the interface could auto-generate anything.

"No presets," he said firmly.

"I'll build it myself."

[SYSTEM NOTICE: MANUAL ENVIRONMENT DESIGN ENABLED]

The grid dissolved.

Arthur stood in empty space once more.

He closed his eyes.

"Give me a place," he said slowly

Arthur opened his eyes.

The void answered.

Stone and steel formed beneath his feet as he shaped the space by will alone.

A wide, single-floor structure took form—

sixteen rooms arranged evenly along the edges.

Walls rose clean and solid.

Doors simple. Functional.

At the center, Arthur carved a massive hall.

High ceiling.

Open sightlines.

No place to hide.

He stepped into the hall and looked around.

"Good," he said quietly.

Arthur lifted his hand again.

"One more rule," he said.

He tapped the air.

"When the doors close—

no sound carries."

[SYSTEM UPDATE: ACOUSTIC ISOLATION ENABLED]

The walls shimmered faintly.

Each room became its own silence.

Voices cut off.

"And vision," he added.

"No one sees in.

No one sees out."

[SYSTEM UPDATE: VISUAL ISOLATION ENABLED]

The doors darkened, turning matte black.

No windows.

No cracks.

No reflections.

Each room became a sealed box—

soundless, sightless, alone.

Arthur stood in the central hall, now surrounded by closed possibilities.

"Perfect," he said softly.

"Now every decision matters."

Arthur smiled faintly.

"Floor Three," he said,

"is not about strength."

He lifted two fingers.

"It's about trust."

New rules etched themselves into the air.

[PLAYER COUNT PER INSTANCE: 16]

Arthur spoke as the system listened.

"Some will be hunters."

"Some will be civilians."

"And no one will know who is who."

He paced the central hall.

"Each cycle, they vote."

"One door opens."

"One player is erased."

No screams would carry.

No explanations allowed.

"Lie well," Arthur murmured.

"Or die honestly."

"One more thing," he added quietly.

"Deaths will look natural."

"No blood. No drama."

"Just absence."

[FLOOR 3 CORE MECHANIC: DECEPTION]

Arthur turned away as the lights dimmed.

"This floor," he said softly,

"will break friendships before bones."

Arthur raised his hand again.

"Roles," he said simply.

Four symbols formed in the air.

[CITIZEN]

— No special ability

— Win condition: Eliminate all Mafia

[MAFIA]

— Act together in secret

— Each night, choose one target to erase

[DETECTIVE]

— Once per cycle, investigate one player

— Receives: Alignment (Civilian)

[DOCTOR]

— Once per cycle, protect one player

— Negates one Mafia kill

Arthur looked at the list.

"Simple," he murmured.

"No heroes. No certainty."

He nodded once.

"Voting rules," he said.

A new line carved itself into the hall.

— Discussion Phase: 5 minutes

— Vote is anonymous

— Majority decides

— Tie means no one is erased

— Day: Talk. Lie. Accuse.

— Night: Mafia acts. Doctor protects. Detective observes.

— No private chats. No signals. Memory only.

He paused, then added the final knife.

"Anyone who refuses to vote… gets erased."

The hall locked itself in silence.

"Now," Arthur whispered,

"let's see who people really are."

"Clear condition," he said.

— Citizens win if all Mafia are erased.

— Mafia win if their number equals or exceeds Citizens.

He watched the roles settle into the system.

"No strength checks. No skill spam," he murmured.

"Only words."

The lights dimmed further.

"Floor Three," Arthur said quietly,

"will teach them this truth—

the deadliest weapon was never power, prince…

it was persuasion."

The System finalized the floor.

[ROLE DISTRIBUTION: RANDOMIZED]

Arthur watched the line [ROLE DISTRIBUTION: RANDOMIZED] settle into place.

Then he spoke again.

"System," he said calmly,

"show me the reward proposal for Floor Three."

A new window unfolded.

[DEFAULT REWARD SUGGESTION]

— Winning Side: 200 XP

— Participation Bonus: 50 XP

Arthur frowned immediately.

"No," he said.

"That rewards silence and luck."

He stepped closer to the interface.

"Only the winning side gets rewards," Arthur ordered.

"Losers get nothing."

The numbers recalculated.

[CONFIRMATION REQUIRED]

"And make it merit-based," he continued.

"Track votes. Correct accusations. Successful protections. Accurate investigations."

"People who carried the team get more.

People who hid behind others get scraps."

The system paused.

[NEW REWARD MODEL: FACTION + MERIT SCALING]

— PLAYER POINTS: 200

— Base XP (Winning Side Only): 1500 XP Pool

— Distribution based on Contribution

Arthur nodded once.

"Good," he said softly.

"Let them learn something important."

He turned away as the floor sealed.

"In this game," he whispered,

"truth doesn't save you…

conviction does."

[REWARD SYSTEM LOCKED]

[FLOOR 3 READY]
