Chapter 3 - CHAPTER NINE: SHADOWS OF THE PAST

Kelvin woke up with a strange heaviness in his chest.

The events of the previous night still haunted him. The strange message, the warnings, and the feeling that someone was watching him would not leave his mind.

His phone buzzed.

Unknown Number:

"If you want the truth about your past, come to the old library by 4 p.m. Come alone."

Kelvin stared at the message.

His instincts told him it was dangerous… but something inside him said he had no choice.

The old library was quiet when he arrived. Dust floated in the air, and the shelves were filled with forgotten books. His footsteps echoed as he walked deeper inside.

Then a voice spoke from the shadows.

"You came."

Kelvin froze.

A man stepped forward. He looked calm, but his eyes carried secrets.

"Who are you?" Kelvin asked.

"My name is Adekunle," the man said. "And I know things about your family that you were never meant to find out."

Kelvin's heart began to race.

"What things?"

Adekunle hesitated, then said quietly,

"Your father was not an ordinary man. He was involved in something powerful… something dangerous."

Kelvin felt his chest tighten.

"That's impossible."

"It's not," Adekunle replied. "Your father discovered a truth that some people would kill to keep hidden. And now… those people are watching you."

Kelvin stepped back.

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because you are connected to it all," Adekunle said. "Everything your father started may now depend on you."

Before Kelvin could ask more, footsteps echoed outside the library.

Adekunle's face changed.

"They've found us."

He quickly pulled out a small flash drive and pressed it into Kelvin's hand.

"This contains everything," he whispered. "Don't trust anyone. Not even the people you think are close to you."

"But wait—"

"Run," Adekunle said firmly.

Kelvin didn't argue.

He turned and ran as fear and confusion filled his heart.

Whatever life he had before was over.

The truth was finally coming… and it was far more dangerous than he imagined.
