Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Asagiri Will Bully All of Shuchiin Academy Equally

Chapter 15: Asagiri Will Bully All of Shuchiin Academy Equally

"Transfer?"

"Wait a minute… this guy is a transfer student? No wonder I have no impression of him at all…"

"No, are you kidding me? A transfer student in Class A? What is the school doing?"

"No wonder he could do something that outrageous. So he is from outside…"

When Asagiri said he was a transfer student, most of the students reacted with subtle expressions.

Private Shuchiin Academy, although it was the best high school in Japan, also had its flaws, like the divide between so called transfer students and pure students.

Pure students were those like Kaguya, who had enrolled from Shuchiin's elementary school and gone all the way up inside the system.

Transfer students were those like Asagiri, who had not attended Shuchiin for middle school and only entered at the high school stage.

Although the school officially claimed to treat pure students and transfer students equally, there was still obvious exclusivity among the students. In the history of Shuchiin Academy, only two transfer students had ever become student council president.

One of those presidents had even been removed directly because he was a transfer student. He did not even last a semester.

Noticing the subtle change in the class atmosphere after everyone learned he was a transfer student, Asagiri seemed completely unconcerned. He even showed a faint smile.

Kaguya thought that his self introduction was over, but she did not expect that this was only the wind up before he truly revealed his nature.

"From your faces, it seems you have a pretty strong prejudice against transfer students."

Asagiri leaned back in his chair, swept his gaze across the classroom, and spoke with a light, amused tone.

"Of course, I can understand your feelings. After all, the spots in Private Shuchiin Academy High School are limited. For every transfer student who enters from outside, it means a junior high student from Shuchiin gets pushed out. I am sure many of you have friends who failed to get in, right? But…"

His tone changed slightly, and he slowly said something that made many students look unhappy.

"In the end, that just means those people were too useless, does it not?"

"You… what did you say…"

A male student slammed his desk and stood up. It was obvious he was one of the people Asagiri had just described, someone whose friend had been eliminated.

"What, am I wrong?"

"Of course you are wrong!"

The boy's emotions were stirred up.

"If it were not for you outsiders, how could…"

"Huh? I heard Shuchiin's junior high is the best, is it not?"

Asagiri did not give him a chance to finish. He continued with a smile.

"You enjoyed better educational resources, a superior environment, and even had the bonus of your Shuchiin junior high records. Yet despite that, they still could not meet the admission standards of Shuchiin High School. Does that not prove they were too useless, that they were rotten wood that could not be carved, so they were eliminated?"

"This…"

Seeing the boy speechless, Asagiri pressed the attack.

"Or is it that you do not think Shuchiin's junior high is the best? Oh, I see. So you are criticizing Shuchiin Academy."

The boy flinched and denied it in a panic.

"I… I did not mean that at all!"

"Then what did you mean? What are you trying to say? Are you a spy sent by Hogwarts?"

"I…"

Once Asagiri saw the boy's mental defenses crumble, he switched from a single target attack to a full area blast.

"In the end, this whole pure student and transfer student thing is childish and ridiculous. The people who cling to it are just clowns who are useless themselves but still want a sense of superiority, so they huddle together for comfort."

"Still talking about mixed blood and pure blood? What are you, Death Eaters?"

"Pure students, transfer students… anyone who talks like that should go get their head checked and get admitted to a hospital as soon as possible."

The classroom fell completely silent under Asagiri's barrage. Kaguya, who was also a pure student, surprisingly found herself agreeing with his words.

Her thinking was simple.

They were pure students because they were excellent. It was not that they were excellent because they were pure students.

If they were not capable enough and could not meet the standards, then being eliminated by Shuchiin Academy was only natural. Blaming transfer students for taking entrance slots was nothing but childish and foolish.

Only…

Even if Asagiri had a point, his way of speaking was extremely aggressive.

He was an arrogant person, and his top score on the entrance exam as a transfer student proved that he had the strength to back that arrogance. But with what he had just said, many pure students would definitely hold grudges against him and even hate him.

Shuchiin Academy's rules were very strict. Open fights rarely happened, but there were many indirect ways to bully someone.

...

The morning period ended quickly. In truth, the morning was only for student self introductions and then voting on class committee members. It was the first day of school, so the main goal was to let everyone adapt.

There were no classes scheduled in the afternoon. It was free activity time.

New students could use this free time to visit clubs they were interested in. Not joining any club was also allowed, since Shuchiin did not force participation. Classes started at nine in the morning and ended at three in the afternoon, with a one hour lunch break in between. On the surface it looked more relaxed than most high schools, but in reality, this was due to Shuchiin Academy's unique educational philosophy.

Students who wanted to study seriously could use the time after school to take elective courses they were interested in.

Students with special talents could join clubs and aim to win prizes in national competitions.

Although it was called a high school, the curriculum at Private Shuchiin Academy was actually closer to that of a university.

As the students in Class A left the room one after another, Kaguya was about to get up when she noticed a boy standing at the back door of the classroom.

He was holding a cup of water with the lid off.

His behavior was clearly unnatural. He just stood there at the back door, as if waiting for someone to walk out.

"So that is it…"

Kaguya glanced at Asagiri, who had already picked up his satchel and was about to leave, and immediately understood.

Someone wanted to give this arrogant transfer student a lesson.

To be honest, Kaguya did not want to get involved at first.

But Asagiri was the one who had beaten her on the entrance exam.

Kaguya did not want him to drop out because of bullying before the spring exams. If that happened, she would lose her chance to wipe away the shame of failing to take first place.

Thinking this, Kaguya made up her mind and stepped out ahead, planning to prevent Asagiri from being "accidentally" splashed with water.
