Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Morning came with gentle, bright sunlight spilling down, softly warming the body and making it easy to sink into that comfortable heat.

On the God's Island, Upper Yard, towering trees stood lush and dense, their heavy branches swaying lightly in the breeze. Deeper in the forest, the light grew dim. Every so often, sunlight blocked by thick foliage would slip through gaps between leaves, scattering mottled patches of light and shadow across the ground.

The soldiers of the God's Guards patrolled their assigned areas in orderly fashion, just as they always did. On the surface, it looked as if nothing unusual had happened here a week ago.

And yet, the faint awe and fear that flashed in their eyes whenever they glanced toward the depths of the forest made it clear—they still hadn't crawled out from the shadow cast by that enormous upheaval a week prior.

In less than a single day, all of Angel Island and God's Island, Upper Yard had changed masters. The former "God," Gan Fall, had been blasted to death completely, and nearly a third of the God's Guards had died as well.

If they hadn't witnessed it with their own eyes, there was no way they could believe that someone in this world could control nature's most mysterious and most terrifying force—lightning.

Fortunately, after formally taking the island, that terrifying existence didn't continue slaughtering indiscriminately, nor did he impose a reign of terror over Angel Island. Otherwise, they really would have had to live forever beneath the shadow of fear. In the face of power that was practically godlike, resistance was nothing but futility. Even someone as strong as the former "God," Gan Fall, was forcefully obliterated without ever even seeing the other person's face—so what were they, a bunch of low-ranking grunts, worth mentioning?

"Such a pity, Gan Fall-sama…" one of the God's Guards soldiers sighed, shaking his head helplessly, then resumed his patrol with renewed seriousness.

At this moment, in the depths of the forest, on the open patch of lawn in the back courtyard of a luxurious palace, Mieko sat alone on the ground, cross-legged, propping his chin with one hand as if lost in thought.

"Even for ordinary masters of physical combat… their bodies are extremely strong, and even the toughness of their internal organs surpasses normal people. But compared to their bodies—tempered and forged through countless trials—their insides still fall far short… Once the internal organs are damaged, no matter how strong someone is, they'll suffer a devastating blow."

"I have to strengthen more than just my outer physique—my internal organs have to be tempered to the limit as well!" Mieko thought to himself. His right hand slowly lifted, and dazzling electric arcs leapt in his palm, weaving into a brilliant net of light.

"In the past, I often used electric arcs to stimulate my muscles. It did make my body stronger… but it still feels like something's missing…" Mieko murmured, brow tightly furrowed, as though searching for a breakthrough. He'd heard legends about internal martial arts—supposedly there were secret methods like 'tiger-leopard thunder sounds' that could reinforce the internal organs—but he'd never studied that sort of thing. What he did know, however, was plenty of vicious, hard-hitting combat techniques.

Suddenly, inspiration struck. Mieko spoke to himself excitedly, "If I directly control the electrons in my blood, accelerate circulation, then slowly release arcs and gradually stimulate the internal organs… given enough time, it'll definitely produce extraordinary results!"

"That's right. With what I can do now, controlling the electrons in my blood shouldn't be a problem. This can push blood circulation—and I can use gentle arcs to stimulate the internal organs. This plan works!" The more he thought about it, the more perfect it sounded.

He stood up, then immediately sat back down cross-legged. His eyes closed, his focus tightened, as if he'd severed all contact with the outside world.

"Bzzzt… bzzzt…" Before long, faint electric arcs began to crawl over Mieko's entire body. They weren't blinding, but they carried a suppressed, oppressive force. Amid the hiss of interlacing current, his veins gradually bulged—blue and red twisting together like earthworms writhing beneath his skin. Even the veins on his face stood out sharply, making him look especially ferocious.

"Bzzzt… bzzzt…" At the same time, the smooth lines of Mieko's muscles tightened, pulsing in rhythm with the current. Every throb came with the flicker of arcs, sending a chill down the spine.

"Thump… thump…" His muscles knotted like coiling dragons, rising and falling with each breath. Arcs on the surface of his body flashed unsteadily, as if his entire body had become a massive electric field.

Gradually, the change stopped being limited to tense muscles… all of Mieko's flesh began to tremble faintly. The trembling wasn't violent, but anyone watching carefully would be shocked. At this moment, his blood was surging at an astonishing speed. If it were an ordinary person, their blood vessels would have burst long ago, putting their life in danger.

How much time passed, no one could tell. Mieko's body seemed swollen with blood, slowly turning a fiery crimson. The raised veins bulging across him looked like coiling dragons entrenched beneath his skin—vicious and terrifying. It was a sight that could make a heart patient panic on the spot… and might even kill them outright.

Now Mieko's breathing had become heavy and rapid, and the air he exhaled even carried faint threads of heat. Fine beads of sweat covered his forehead—clearly, he was enduring intense pressure and discomfort.

"Thump… thump…" His muscles continued to pulse in a steady rhythm, not stopping even as his body congested with blood. Every rise and fall was packed with strength and dense solidity. At the same time, countless tiny arcs flickered over his skin, brightening and dimming like lightning tearing across a night sky—enough to inspire fear.

A few minutes later, the blood-congested crimson on Mieko's body gradually faded, and his swollen veins slowly returned to normal. The pulsing of his muscles stopped, but thin strands of arcs still curled around him. He opened his eyes slowly, and a faint spark of electricity flashed through those deep, pitch-black eyes.

"Hah… it really works. The progress is still tiny right now, but given time, it'll show an astonishing transformation!" Mieko wiped the sweat from his forehead and stood up, a smile appearing on his handsome face. Through the experiment just now, he'd roughly mapped out a method to strengthen both his body and his internal organs at the same time. He named it the "Electric Stimulation Method."

However, everything had its limits. Once that full-body blood-congestion state appeared, if Mieko continued training with the Electric Stimulation Method for too long, it would backfire—damaging his body and becoming more harm than good.
