Saber had little to no sleep last night, not that she needed it anyway. With the roars of Hollow Beasts and gunshots, she couldn't help but keep her eyes open the entire night.
She never blinked. Saber did not care for the humans trying to escape, nor the beasts. So be it if one of them dies; it would just be more peaceful for her.
Pushing aside the makeshift blanket, she decided to stretch her body for the day. All of her limbs began to expand and twist together. In the end, she became a ball of muscles.
"Is this how humans do it?" she murmured.
Immediately afterward, she reverted to her original state. She summoned her sword from her mouth, slicing her arm off. As the blood spurted out, she counted how long it took for her to regenerate.
"One. Two. Three."
On cue, her arm had regrown from the inside out. She was not satisfied with this. Before creating this world, she was able to regenerate her limbs before she registered that they were gone.
But that was beside the point; with the humans now gone, she could roam around freely. What Hollow Beast would be dumb enough to fight her after all?
She repeated her same mundane tasks, this time searching for an apple. Most of which had rotted by this time, but she continued her search.
"I would like to test this 'delivery' thing at some point in time. I hear that humans can now have snacks carried to their doorsteps. It truly has been centuries since I interacted with a friendly one."
...Who was she talking to? That would be none other than her sword. As I said before, it is hard to translate the languages of Entities to humans. I'll try my best to recreate its name.
"What do you think they do in their free time now, Slayer-Of-Absences?"
Her face showed the same blank expression. Saber felt her desire for apples increasing. Having had enough, she pulled a rotten apple from a tree, planting it into the ground.
A new apple tree sprouted from it, and she plucked a fresh one.
Snap.
So did her gaze, but away from the apple. She felt a new presence this time, one much deadlier than any of Simon's subordinates.
The woman she saw was quite slender, her hair a snowy white with black ends. It resembled a wolf's tail, and it perfectly complemented her cobblestone-grey eyes that had specks of crimson red in them.
She was very tall, wearing a white button-up shirt with a navy blue jacket that hung around her shoulders and black pants. Additionally, she had a prosthetic hand with slender, snake-like fingers.
Even though they must've been hundreds of miles away from each other, they locked eyes. Neither of them let down until another woman appeared behind the slender woman.
The woman next to her was wearing the same jacket, except she opted for a white tank top and low-rise jeans with lotus flower-like designs on them.
On her back was a black curved blade that far exceeded her own size, the tip of it dragging across the floor, paired with a shorter blade next to it. Her eyes were quartz white, and her jade-green hair was short.
"Rin, what are you looking at?" The green-haired woman asked before staring in the same direction as the other.
"...It's not Guolao. Leave it alone, Blossom." Her voice was calm, with a deadly hint behind it.
Saber felt as if she and Rin had reached an understanding and went into a nearby house. Whatever the pair was here for, Saber would let them deal with their business as an act of kindness.
She heard their conversation and knew they meant no harm to her.
Rin took a deep breath in, her lazy eyes focusing on the world before her. She jumped into the air before quickly stilling herself.
[Tune]
The whole world began to shake, almost as if it were a rocking chair. This was the power of the bureau's strongest, Rin Sato.
A quiet flute-like sound rang out as she began to walk slowly across the air, looking around the city. Blossom looked confused with her sudden change, but followed.
[Lotus]
As Blossom took a step into the air, a lotus flower sprouted at her feet. Once she caught up with Rin, she grabbed her hand and tugged.
"Come on, what are we doing?"
"Killing the Hollow Beasts that migrated here. I can't be bothered with borders." She sighed.
Rin grabbed Blossom's hand tighter, leaping forward. In less than a second, they went from the replica of New York to San Francisco.
On top of the Golden State Bridge, they looked down at the city, seeing Hollow Beasts gnawing into each other, as if it were the only thing they knew. Rin effortlessly dropped down, diving into the city.
"Oh, I thought we were gonna just do it all in one go. I guess not."
"I need cardio for the day."
With that, Rin hit the streets of San Francisco, killing a horde of Beasts with nothing but the sheer impact of her landing. Even the beasts stared at her as if she were some sort of monster, and they weren't.
...They were running from her. Flying, pulling each other's legs off, whatever they could do to flee.
Some squealed in fear, others panted heavily like dogs, but that didn't last long.
She pulled out her sabre, which resembled a lance more than anything. It was black and rose-red, looking as if the entirety of it was a sharp handle.
With a single flip, she had cut down the ones that were flying, their blood spraying down on those who couldn't.
As she landed, she raised her blade once more, everything suddenly freezing in time.
[Sync]
A tiger the size of an elephant caught between this moment roared. It tried to intimidate her, even with its ears flopped in submission.
Rin pulled out a golden revolver that complemented her sabre, pointing it at the tiger's forehead.
Bang!
As its brains splattered against the concrete, the rest of the beasts, frozen in place, screamed in terror. Rin shoved the revolver in her mouth by its handle. She held her hand up, and the mushed brains obeyed her will.
[Absorb]
The brain formed a ball, and the blood from the surrounding area began to gather into the mush of guts.
By the time all the blood had been consumed, the ball had taken the form of another Rin.
Just then, she let all of the Hollow Beasts free. They all scattered, biting off each other's limbs to try and use them as shields.
For the first time since this world had been created, they were running — not hunting.
"One. Two. Three. Four!"
As Blossom counted Rin down, she chased the beasts. She appeared around each part of the city, slashing and piercing the Beasts to pieces before moving on to the next.
It was as if she were a fading image at every inch of the city, each beast letting out a scream as it died.
Her clone did the same, even more ruthlessly than her. It was only a matter of time before none were left alive.
The whole city was covered in blood splatter, but even still... She did not have a single drop of blood on her.
She remained in all of her beauty, letting out a singular exhale after the slaughter.
Blossom watched from the bridge the entire time, looking down at the woman indifferently. She pulled out her sword, holding it up as a Hollow Beast came crashing into it from behind.
The Beasts' organs splattered out onto the bridge, creating a filthy scene. As Rin looked up, seeing this, she gave Blossom a thumbs up before stabbing the clone in the eye, killing it in an instant.
This cycle continued for a total of ten minutes. For five of those ten minutes, they were in a cabin in Norway.
Even still, Rin felt a hint of disgust at this record.
Blossom was happy with her progress, though. She had managed to destroy the entire continent of South America with a singular attack.
Not only was she meant to be a healer, but this feat alone was something not everyone could achieve.
With the world free of the Hollow Beasts, they stood on a building in Hong Kong, admiring the sea. Rin stared across the horizon, almost with irritation.
"...Any minute now."
Without warning, her arm twisted around itself. Her forearm had separated from her elbow, making it hang by a thread. Rin's calm face still did not waver, however.
Blossom gripped Rin's forearm tightly, and it began to bend again. It snapped upright, her fingers turning into petals.
The first layer was skin, the second was muscle, and the third was blood. In the center of it all, her bone stood on its lonesome. It resembled a beautiful lotus flower.
Eventually, the arm rebuilt itself in reverse order, making it as good as new.
"Maybe I shouldn't have taken my time in some of those areas. But it was nice to look back at it."
"Yeah, you spent five minutes on Norway out of all places?..."
"What's wrong with Norway, Blossom? It's a nice place to settle down."
"Huh?! That's a horrible place to settle down!"
"Whatever... By the way, what's up with your hair?"
"You don't like it?" Blossom pouted.
Rin just shook her head before grabbing Blossom and leading them both back to Heaven. Now, all that was left for the bureau to do was place borders around the world.
