So bright it burned as light faded ruko regained consciousness he looked at his wings and noticed they were crimson red as he turned his head all the way around to look at his back his back was shining like rubies which were actually made of his scales after he melted the Ruby's onto his body in order to gain armor at the time it seems the bioenergy literally made his scales like Ruby armor and he noticed he nearly had full 360 vision his eyes were placed a little higher and covered slightly in Rubized scales to protect him from getting sniped.
The reason for this was his horns he had two sets of serrated horns one was 3.5 ft long and there was another one behind it that was 2.3 ft long and not serrated as for his tail he lost all of his tail spikes and instead his tail shifted into an blade like structure that would inject blazing poison a rare type of poison that when injected into an enemy feels like your blood is on fire and because of this this causes monsters and humans alike to go into a rampage which is also the best way to start a turf war.
And on both sides of his neck were gill like organs these we're meant to open up as soon as his flames reached critical is when he went beyond his capacity they would open up and release the excess heat and if someone gets too close say a hunter who uses gun lance the overwhelming heat that he has to exhale through his gills is so strong that they cause armor deterioration and it's even faster on steel/iron weapons
And in addition he had grown to a massive 17 m he suspected he would be considered an adult as soon as he hit the 20 m mark he had just woken up from a week long nap and was hungry he wanted to test his new found might spreading is wings his wingspan was massive a huge 6.8 m he couldn't tell why but for some reason he was in the mood for some glavenus flesh.
As he soared the sky every time he flapped his wings it was like a miniature sonic boom if he had to guess if he was moving at Max speed he might barely match valstrax(a wyvern so fast they can literally reach the stratosphere in 2.5 minutes) as he arrived at the crystalline quarry something was different their was a potent residue of dragon element which means one of two things there was either deviljho or scorned magnamalo he was hoping for magnamalo surely because not only did it possess dragon element but also blast I mean he did just eat an entire teostra core and teostra kind of nearing the Pinnacle of blast monsters but then again Magnamalo literally beat him out of the air during their turf war so yeah they were even.
Suddenly as he was looking around he flew a little higher and did a full 360 twice just to make sure he wasn't missing anything and he seen it a female magnamalo wondering around and by the very distinct pungent odor she was emitting she was in heat and was looking for a mate or two she was heading towards emberclutch and his nest immediately he boosted forward he wondered as he made a u-turn he flew really far back nearly leaving heaven's Haven.
As he roared it echoed through the area as a burst of flames erupted from his body he suddenly hit mach speed turning into a speeding proto-sonic missile(proto Sonic means barely at mach speed) as he slowed down he opened one of his talents causing you to catch the heat and turn a dark crimsonish purple as the female magnamalo was rubbing her scent on trees and rocks she felt a distinct heat as she barely turned her head.
Her eyes widened in absolute fear as a pure blazing crimson talon was just upon her midsection suddenly a slight heat pasted through her as she looked down chasing three major gashes in crimson color ruko had moved so fast he literally hit a shonen quick slash on a elder dragon to your monster I mean at this point he was literally considered an elder dragon tier even before he evolved suddenly something within these weird glowing marks ignited causing a massive crimson explosion that literally spread blast element everywhere the debris that did survive the overwhelming explosion and came like flaming meteors and started raining from the sky.
Ruko roared so loud the shockwave blew away loose debris as he thought to himself ruko:'from this day forth this attack shall be dubbed the claws of cataclysm' ruko quickly flew into the crimson flames to make sure he at least retrieved the unity sac this was a rare organ found in dual elemental monsters such as rathalos and rathian or Espinas he quickly gutted his opponent well wasn't really an opponent.
More like a quick kill as he opened her up the sac as a whole was completely chard but the gem was partially cracked from the intense explosion but still intact as he swallowed it down he got ready to fly away but he became curious how potent his fireballs were as he unleashed a regular fireball at a withered tree his fireballs were completely light blue bordering on the edge of turning white as soon as the fireball made the slightest contact with the withered tree it literally combusted first what explosion but then the fireball remained exploding inward again and then exploding one more time before actually creating a shockwave.
Ruko wondered if that was a regular fireball he did not want to see a full power one but there was one thing he wanted to try that he got from Teostra and just in time too as vice suddenly appeared after hearing the outrageous amount of explosions while he was trying to sleep little did the two monsters that were about to engage in a turf war know for being documented through a video tape recorder by a young researcher and Hunter who had recently discovered heaven's Haven.
And then just like that the turf war began vice also recently obtained the power up he and now become fulgurized he was now a fulgar white mane anjanath he was already adapted to dealing with other brute wyverns but now he could contend better with water monsters as vice roared ruko instincts ignited as he lost all sense of reason as he entered what he had recently dubbed a turf war sequence he roared back as vice lowered himself to the ground as he went for a falling kick ruko dodged as vice slammed straight into a boulder crumbling into pieces.
As ruko flew in and slashed him with his talons which now carried a new paralysis toxin called paralysis blast which would paralyze the targeted monster and also infect them with blast blight so if they somehow did not get it off within the next minute they would explode as ruko flew back he came in and did a mid-air flip as due to how jagged and serrated his tail spikes were not only was he infected with lethal poison but also bleed ailment in terms of multiple effects he was considered the most dangerous monster alive not only could he inflict blast and fire blight also poison and paralysis blight even bleed blight if you had to guess right now he was maybe very slightly velkana or shagaru magala level.
As vice electrified body was having a hard time finding off multiple toxins at the same time as soon as he noticed ruko coming in for another tail attack he's used whatever motion you could muster and swung his tail with all his might causing one of his serrated tail barbs to splinter off slashing ruko across the chest and sending him tumbling into the ground as he broke one of his freshly regrown mandibles and his back carapace as vice was freed from his paralysis blight he charged forward electricity surging from his jaw.
As he charged forward bit ruko directly on the neck and started thrashing him around causing loose scales to fly everywhere as vice was about to go for the gnarliest RKO anyone had ever seen in their lifetime ruko suddenly unleashed a burst of blue flames inflicting his opponent with fire blight which then in turned caused the blast blight to ignite even faster as vice for some reason exploded he was send flying back but still alive.
As ruko still frenzied in his turf war sequence made an attempt to fly away vice on ruko carapace and because fulgar anjanath mucus was electrified it's shocked ruko out of the air leaving him in prime thunder blight as body convulsed on instincts he let out a secondary more guttural roar little did he know this was the distress signal to his mate jira no matter how far away heard the sound immediately took flight as vice slowly and predatorily stalked up on his enemy.
Ruko in self-defense unleashed a fireball that exploded at his opponent's feet vice recoiled from the shockwave does he stepped through the flames drooling from his lower jaw as he opened it wide ready to end his rival's life suddenly a another roar out of nowhere appeared this sounded more protective than violent as Jira came flying in doing a mid-air backflip some of her tail spikes broke off as they went flying through the air and impaled vice in his thigh giving him even more poison blight as she flew forward in a head-butted him causing vice to stumble to the side as he slammed into a withered tree with a very old Vines hanging from them as the tree fell on him the vines became loosened as they covered his whole body.
Due to this semi triple turf war ruko used his blazing blast to destabilize the mucus and fly away in a completely random direction as Jira gave Chase the hunters recorded this immediately ran back to the guild they're not only documents a new monster but to also document a rare basically triple turf war as they made it to the gate The guild was in the center of a hidden oasis to regular people who had never been here before it was quite hard but to the surrounding kingdoms they easily knew their way here this place was a Haven for all who wish to hunt monsters.
As the hunter in The scholar whose names we soon find out to be are Karla and Christian who are also a recently official relationshipees reported their findings to the guildmaster as The guild Master and the other leaders of the different departments looked tensely at the footage mainly focusing on the rathalos and triple turf war but their main curiosity was how easily this new rathalos variant killed a magnamalo.
The scholars and guild Master after going over the evidence proceeded to naming of this variant leaving it up to Christian who actually recorded the entire interaction the guildmaster spoke like a wise old man who had been meditating for 15 years guildmaster:"has the discoverer of a new rathalos variant....no deviant the scholars and I have decided to leave the naming to you" Christian thought long and hard it wasn't just about a scientific name and had to be roll off the tongue and also be cool at the same time.
Suddenly it came to Christian like Armageddon on a Christmas morning Christian:"cataclysm rathalos after all the destructive damage you can see in the video I'm pretty sure this name is earned" everyone liked it it was actually pretty cool sounding Christians rank soon went from rookie to senior giving him access to more books and knowledge and actually allow him to go in more dangerous expeditions as for both Christian and karla The guild Master made a choice as he spoke.
Guildmaster:"since you two discovered heaven's Haven while on a simple escort mission through the crystalline quarry both of you will be in charge of creating a permanent Outpost within heaven's Haven Karla will be in charge of all the Hunter's station there and Christian will be in charge of the scholars there as for weapons and other stuff the other expedition leaders are willing to hand over their apprentices as it will be good practice for them you are dismissed" and thus the legend of the wings of cataclysm has just begun
