The two young brothers always loved visiting their grandparents' house because they could always play together. Even though they were young, it was always fun...until nighttime came. That's when the fun ended.
One of the brothers was sleeping when he suddenly woke up to a weird sound. The sound was coming from inside the room. It was a strange noise, not a normal sound at all. The boy quickly pulled his blankets over his face, and immediately, the sound stopped. The whole night, the boy panicked, not knowing what that noise was. When the next day came, he didn't even tell his brother because he assumed it was just a dream.
But over the next couple of days, the sound continued. He told his grandparents that he wanted to sleep in their room, but he didn't specify the reason. Obviously, his brother slept in the same room as well, but they slept on the ground on a mat because there was only one bed in their grandparents' bedroom.
When nighttime came, the boy woke up again hearing the same sound. Even in their grandparents' room, the noise never faded. It was even louder there, as if whatever was making the sound was in the room with them. He just shrugged it off again and tried to fall asleep, hoping that it would stop.
The little boy started feeling sick, but his grandparents didn't see anything physically wrong with him. They decided to take him to the doctor for a check-up. When the doctor came back with the results, she said that the boy was suffering from sleep deprivation because he wasn't getting enough rest. The doctor gave him some medication to help him sleep at night.
When they went back home, the grandmother told Alex to sleep early so the medication could do its work and he could get better. That night, he went to sleep before his brother. Again, during the night, the sound returned. When he opened his eyes, he heard it—whatever it was, it was close. The room was quiet and he was the only one there; there was no sign of his brother or his grandparents. The only thing to be heard was something repeating the same sound: Gooong... Goong... Gooong...
Alex screamed, and suddenly his brother was next to him, asking if he was alright. They were back in their previous bedroom, where they had slept before moving to their grandparents' room. Alex just lay on the bed in shock, still shaking from how real that dream felt.
The next day, he told his brother Mark why he couldn't sleep. He explained the strange noise that came from all around the room but was much louder in their grandparents' bedroom. Alex told Mark not to tell their grandparents, otherwise they would think he was crazy and take him to the hospital again. Mark agreed to keep it a secret.
When nighttime came again, Mark kept thinking about what his brother had told him, but he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. Later that night, he heard it: the exact sound Alex had described. It was clear as day. At first, it started slow, but when he opened his eyes, it got louder. When he looked around the room, he was alone on the bed, even though he remembered sleeping next to his brother. He couldn't move; he was paralyzed. He couldn't even pull up the covers as the room turned darker and darker until he couldn't see anything anymore. The sound grew louder. He tried to scream for his brother, but no words left his mouth. He saw something dark circling his bed, but he couldn't react.
When he finally woke up, his brother was next to him looking worried. Alex asked him what was wrong because Mark had been screaming in his sleep and murmuring his name. Mark broke down crying and shaking, telling his brother that he had heard it too. The sound was scary, and he felt as if a presence had been right there in the room with him.
The next morning, Mark asked Alex if he had heard the sound the previous night. Alex said no; he had actually slept well and hadn't heard the scary noise at all. That's when Mark realized that the nightmare was something that could be transmitted. Since Alex hadn't heard it, it meant Mark was the new victim. They both agreed to keep this between themselves and not tell their grandparents.
Alex devised a plan. Since they were leaving soon, he suggested that Mark should tell one of his friends about the sound. That way, he could transfer it to them instead and it would be their problem. At first, Mark disagreed and decided to hide the secret. But over the next few days, Mark looked weary. His dreams were getting so bad that he started getting physically hurt, sometimes even waking up coughing up blood.
Mark finally had enough. The pain was becoming too real and the sound was getting closer. He realized he didn't have a choice; if he didn't tell anyone else, he would be devoured by whatever was haunting him. He told one of their friends the story, but he treated it like a scary legend rather than something real. His friend was shaken by the story but laughed it off, and they continued playing their game. Both Mark and Alex hoped that the curse had successfully transferred.
When nighttime came, the friend they had told the story to started hearing strange sounds in his bedroom. Over the next few days, he began suffering from sleep deprivation. He went back to find Mark and Alex to get an answer on how to get rid of it, but their grandparents told him they had left days ago. The only thing he remembered was Mark telling him that the only way to get rid of the curse was to tell someone...anyone....and they would take your place. If you didn't, you would be devoured.
A week after Mark and Alex returned to their parents, they received a call from their grandmother. She told them that the friend they used to play with had sadly passed away from an unknown disease. Mark and Alex instantly knew what was behind their friend's death, but they never told anyone.
Later that same night, Mark began having the nightmares again, hearing that same creepy, strange sound. It meant their friend had never told anyone else, and now the curse had returned to Mark.
