It let out a deafening roar, trying to snap its trainer out of it.
But the roar was useless. Feng Lu had shut himself away inside his own heart.
Just then, something fell from his body.
It was a pendant.
The moment it struck the ground, a clear, pleasant melody rang out from within.
A music box had been hidden inside the pendant.
The familiar tune awakened the part of Feng Lu's heart that had long lain buried.
"No. I can't give in to fear. I still have to find my wife and child."
Feng Lu slowly picked up the pendant from the ground.
Then a surge of power welled up from deep within him.
He felt strength filling his body as an immense Dragon Tamer power burst forth.
The overwhelming force stunned every member of the Dragon Tamer clan present.
"What an incredible power."
"I can actually feel my own Dragon Tamer power trembling."
"My Dragon Tamer power is bowing before his."
As the clan members looked on in shock, Shaga and Victor exchanged a glance.
"This is Dragon Awakening—the second state of Dragon Tamer power."
"I never thought I'd see it a second time in my lifetime."
Shaga spoke slowly.
The first time had been on Vio.
"That's strange. Didn't my brother already go through Dragon Awakening once?"
"I get it. He must have been fooling everyone."
Victor suddenly understood.
As the immense Dragon Tamer power flowed into Hydreigon, its paralysis began to fade.
Hydreigon let out a roar that shook the heavens.
Watching Feng Lu suddenly power up, Feng Che's mouth twitched uncontrollably.
The man was like a cockroach that simply refused to die.
"Hydreigon, use Dragon Pulse!"
The Dragon Pulse unleashed by Hydreigon was vastly stronger than before.
But Dragon-type moves were no different from food to Zweilous.
Zweilous charged straight into the attack and opened its mouth wide, devouring the Dragon Pulse.

Facing Hydreigon's resentful stare, Feng Lu gave an awkward smile.

Streams of fire poured from Hydreigon's mouths, forming a sea of flames that trapped Zweilous within.
But Zweilous carried Zekrom's power.
It transformed into a streak of golden light, weaving effortlessly through the inferno.
"Zweilous, stop playing around. Finish it."
Feng Che didn't want to risk things dragging on.
He ordered Zweilous to attack directly.
"Use Million Volts."
Zweilous soared into the sky and summoned endless thunderclouds.
A massive lightning dragon crashed down upon Hydreigon with blinding speed.
The instant Hydreigon came into contact with it, its body was charred black.
"Hydreigon!!!"
Feng Lu poured his Dragon Tamer power into Hydreigon.
Hydreigon recovered at a speed visible to the naked eye.
But by now, Feng Lu had very little Dragon Tamer power left.
"Let's finish this with our final move."
"Hydreigon, use the technique we created ourselves."
Feng Lu encouraged his partner.
"Zweilous, Giga Volt."
Zweilous summoned a lightning dragon that coiled high above the clouds.
An immense torrent of electricity plunged from the dark sky.
At the same time, Hydreigon unleashed the powers of frost, flame, and lightning from its three heads.
The two forces collided in midair.
A tremendous explosion erupted.
Its power rivaled the detonation of thousands of tons of TNT.
Even Zekrom could no longer sit still.
It immediately recalled part of the Giga Volt's electricity, reducing the explosion's power as much as possible.
A violent gale swept silently across the Dragon Tamer clan's territory.
The shockwave spread in every direction.
Hydreigon was slammed into the ground by the blast.
Its three heads were driven into the earth like upside-down stakes.
The instant the explosion occurred, Feng Che had already used Teleport to move Zweilous high into the sky.
A weary Zekrom appeared among the clouds.
Had it not absorbed much of Giga Volt's power just now, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
The entire Dragon Tamer clan's territory would likely have been flattened by the shockwave.
Hydreigon had lost the ability to battle.
Zweilous slowly descended from the sky.
It planted one foot on Hydreigon's body and let out a thunderous roar.
"I lost."
Feng Lu looked at Feng Che with a complicated expression.
Then he turned and left without looking back.
"Looks like that brat Feng Lu took quite a blow."
"Daughter, go stop him. Don't let him do anything foolish."
"The Dragon Tamer clan isn't peaceful these days. I don't want to outlive my own child."
Vio hurriedly threw out a Poké Ball.
He mounted a Hydreigon and departed at once.
Kommo-o glanced at Vio helplessly.
Then it dumped all the Berries in its hands into its mouth.
Its cheeks puffed out like a squirrel's as it chewed nonstop.
Kommo-o strode toward the clan's ancestral grounds with light, graceful steps.
Back then, Vio had sworn that he would never enter the ancestral grounds for all eternity.
Only with the clan leader's permission could he take even a single step inside.
But that oath did not apply to his Pokémon.
"Congratulations, Tyrant Dragon. You have won this Dragon Festival."
"Come with me to the Dragonspiral Temple. Only after receiving the Dragon God's blessing and the approval of the Dragon Tamer clan's leadership can you become the next clan leader."
Shaga said to Feng Che.
The Dragonspiral Temple was not far from the battlefield.
Less than thirty minutes later, Feng Che arrived there.
Unlike the Dragon Temples of Sinnoh and Hoenn, the Dragonspiral Temple in Unova was remarkably rugged.
It had been built from massive stone blocks.
At its center stood three enormous statues.
The carvings were extremely simple, revealing only the rough outlines of the Tao Trio.
Following Shaga, Feng Che entered the temple's main hall.
A large altar stood within.
"We need to verify your identity and determine whether you truly carry the bloodline of Unova's Dragon Tamer clan."
Shaga said with a faint smile.
He then handed Feng Che a dagger, signaling for him to cut his finger and let a drop of blood fall onto a piece of clear, jade-like stone.
