Golduck:This Poacher is vile. I watched him scatter a strange golden powder into the sea.Golduck:The Gyarados went from angry to berserk the second they touched it. Their eyes are blood-red... it's terrifying.
Feng Che caught the truth through Golduck's Heart Voice.
"Lance, these Gyarados have been hit with Rage Powder," Feng Che sent a telepathic message.
"Rage Powder?! Those bastards," Lance's mental voice growled with fury. "That's a League-prohibited substance. To use it on this scale... how much did they dump into the ocean?"
"The Syndicate is as cunning as they are cruel," Feng Che said, his brow furrowed as he scanned the horizon. "I suspect they have stockpiles in the hold. If their assault fails, they'll likely dump the rest as a scorched-earth tactic. In these breeding grounds, the number of Gyarados is near infinite. If they all go berserk, no one on this ship survives."
"They don't care about lives, only profit," Lance hissed, his hand hovering over his Poké Balls. "They're likely backed by some corrupt noble houses in the League. That's why they're so brazen."
"Who did this?! Do they want to bury everyone in a watery grave?!" Captain Kasha roared over the sound of the crashing waves. Experienced as he was, he had already realized the cause.
"Captain, what do we do?" Miyamoto, the First Mate, asked with visible panic.
"Full throttle! We need to break out of this swarm. And send a priority distress signal to Cinnabar—we need armed air support immediately!"
Just as Kasha finished his orders, a massive explosion rocked the ship. A pillar of black smoke and fire erupted from the central funnel.
"Captain! The engine room has been sabotaged with high explosives!" A sailor, his face blackened by soot, stumbled onto the deck.
Something's off about this guy, Feng Che thought. He subtly released Ditto, signaling it to transform into Yanmega and hover in the shadows.
Suddenly, the "soot-faced" sailor pulled a jagged dagger and lunged for the Captain's heart.
CLANG!
A flash of teal light intercepted the blade. Ditto-Yanmega had appeared instantly, batting the dagger away.
"I thought so," Feng Che stepped forward, a cold smirk on his lips. "The soot on your face was a bit too 'perfectly' applied for someone who just climbed out of a burning engine room."
The assassin straightened up, peeling off a realistic latex mask to reveal a man in his thirties with sunken, triangular eyes and a face wrapped in bandages like a mummy.
"Impressive. You caught me," the man sneered.
"One of the Seven Generals of the Poacher Syndicate," Captain Kasha said, surprisingly calm. "Which one are you?"
"I am the Venomous General, Hanzo Shura," the man replied. "I heard a rumor, Captain Kasha Solomon—or should I say, the Great Sea Hunter? I heard you're transporting a legendary artifact. The Silver Wing of Lugia."
Kasha's expression turned stone-cold.
"The legend says the wing allows one to call upon the Guardian of the Seas," Hanzo continued greedily. "A family heirloom of the Sea Hunters, a symbol of their bond with Lugia. I slipped onto this ship to claim it before the other Generals arrived. But you hid it well—I haven't found a single trace."
Hanzo looked at the panicking passengers. "Hand it over, Kasha. Do it, and I might let the ship stay afloat. Refuse, and I'll execute one person every minute."
"Even if I had it," Kasha spat, "I know your kind. You'd sink the ship anyway to kill the witnesses. You're a pathological liar, Hanzo."
"Hehe... you know me too well." Hanzo clapped his hands.
Suddenly, First Mate Miyamoto stepped forward. "Ninjask, use U-Turn on Hanzo!"
"Miyamoto, wait!" Kasha shouted, but he realized too late that the Ninjask wasn't aiming for Hanzo. It was aiming for him.
"Miyamoto... you too?" Kasha's face seemed to age decades in an instant. The orphan he had raised like a son had betrayed him.
SHING!
Ditto-Yanmega moved again, its wings a blur. It used Slash to intercept the Ninjask, clipping its wings and sending it crashing to the deck.
"That bug again!" Hanzo growled, glaring at the Yanmega. "I should have dealt with you first."
Captain Kasha regained his composure and threw a Poké Ball. A massive, intimidating Salamence appeared beside him.
"Why, Miyamoto? After everything I did for you?"
"Don't take it personally, old man," the First Mate sneered. "Water flows down, but men climb up. I'm tired of being a servant on this rust-bucket. Hanzo offered me a seat at the table."
"Enough chatter," Hanzo interrupted. "Go, my darlings!"
He released two Pokémon: a Crobat and a Dustox. His Crobat was unusually small but had wings twice the normal length—a sign of extreme speed. The Dustox was a Shiny variant, its wings a shimmering, toxic hue that blended into the misty sea air.
Captain Kasha grabbed a megaphone connected to the ship's PA system. "Attention passengers! We are under attack by Poachers. Return to your cabins, lock your doors, and release your Pokémon for defense. Do not trust the crew—many are imposters. Help is on the way from Cinnabar. Stay safe!"
"Liar," Hanzo laughed. "We've jammed all signals within fifty miles. No one is coming. This ship is going to be a ghost wreck by sunset."
Lance stepped forward, shedding his "Asuka" disguise. His Golbat hovered at his shoulder, eyes glowing with battle-readiness.
"Golbat, intercept that Crobat!"
"Wait... you're a Escort Specialist too?" Kasha looked at the red-haired youth in shock.
"I am Lance of the Elite Four," the Dragon Master declared. He released his Charizard and Aerodactyl.
Hanzo's eyes widened, but he didn't flee. "An Elite Four member? Perfect. My bounty just doubled. Kill the passengers! Take hostages! Not even Lance will dare attack us if we have human shields!"
Dozens of "sailors" on the deck drew weapons and released their Pokémon.
"Everyone out!" Feng Che threw five Poké Balls. Froakie, Litten, Ivysaur, Corvisquire, and Scyther appeared in a row. "Battle stations! Protect the tourists!"
Nakata, watching from the wing of the bridge, saw Feng Che's full team. Starters... and a Scyther? If I snag those, I can retire for good. He grinned, his greed outweighing his common sense.
"Feng Che, handle the subordinates!" Lance shouted as he leaped onto Charizard's back. "The Captain and I will crush Hanzo!"
Lance's Charizard unleashed a Flamethrower so intense it seemed to set the clouds on fire.
"This," Feng Che whispered, "is the power of an Elite Four Master."
