The silence stretched for some minutes as Alex stood frozen in place,Estadey finished the herbal medicine and placed it on the chair next to the bed.
A faint clanking sound was heard through the silence, snapping Alex from his thoughts. "Uhm,I think I know you sir,we met earlier today, right?"she asked.
Alex was still standing at the door way, back facing Estadey and his silence responding to her conformation.
"I'm not trying to pry but you shouldn't treat your friend badly."she said.
The sad expression that wore his face turned into burning anger from her words.
His brows furrowed, shoulders lifted higher making his neck short ,almost tucked in under his head. Memories of Jin and Estadey looking at each other flashed in his mind.
He suddenly turned ,strode across the room and picked up a small metallic case the size of a hand booklet. Placed the cup back I his herbal kit then silently sat on the chair,facing her.
He opened it revealing tiny sharpened blades,he took one out and forcefully held out her hand then pressed his thumb on her wrist."Hey,what are you do-" she stopped mid sentence.
Alex swiftly slit her wrist and collected a few drops of blood in a tiny round plate then he bandaged her wrist.
Instead of pain, she felt shocked from what the doctor did. She saw how he started packing things back in the kit and preparing to leave.
She became annoyed. "Wait right there ,sir."she shouted. He ignored her and continued.
"You can't be careless like this,and especially with a patient, didn't you listen to what your friend warned you about. " she complained. Alex stopped what he was doing.
Then silence sat in the room as if it were another person visiting. He slowly turned,face flushed in a dark shade of pink.
A blank expression etched his face but the aura he exuded was dangerous.
"Listen, brat ! it's best you shut it, on matters that don't include your low mindset. " he slowly said.
"But I was just advising you," she said.
"Here's a word for you,rat !"he held her jaw tight almost feeling her teeth through her cheeks,"best meddle in your life and not my death or else I'll switch our positions. "he warned in a low voice.
Estadey felt a spine chilling atmosphere envelope her surroundings apart from the morning encounter, his threat was more intimidating.
She tried to speak but no words left her mouth,as if her body felt afraid of functioning before the doctor.
Then Alex took out a white pill from his pocket and forcefully shoved it in her mouth
Due to that speed ,she swallowed without any struggle. "We shall meet again, rat."he annoyingly bid a farewell.
When he shut the door behind him,Estadey was panicked.
Of what she was fed and tried to gag but it was like the pill vanished in nothing as soon as she closed her mouth.
An hour later she started feeling very sleepy and her body heavy over unknown fatigue ,minutes later she finally fell asleep .
Alex left the homage after informing Granny Mina that Estadey shall stay the night and he'll check on her in the morning.
He then hurried home,and the same feeling of guilt hung heavy on his heart.
A knock was heard from the door, and Jin stood up to open it.
To find Alex's puffy eyes,pink nose but wearing a blank expression. They stood frozen in place for seconds, of Alex staring in space and Jin staring at his face.
Unknowingly, subconsciously,maybe driven by hidden feelings, Jin gently touched Alex's face,and caressed his cheek.
Alex didn't withdraw but stood in that moment.
Then Alex snapped out of the moment, seeing their stance and the closing distance between each other, he slapped Jin's hand away then entered the house.
Jin just stood in place,not in worry but a sense of happiness from his close touch with Alex.
