[Max's POV]
This was something I didn't expected, I was overpowered before. Now, I didn't what I was. A blazing thought occurred in mind; can't I use this class effects to directly reach the top of the Tower. It is just that broken.
However, before I could imagine myself at the apex floor, the system panel flickered to life.
[The Tower adds a new condition for Player Max: Because of your Class, you possess an unfair advantage in climbing the Tower.]
[By the Authority of the Creator: If Player Max uses his Class to gain an unfair advantage, a Penalty will be applied]
[The severity of the Penalty will be decided solely by the Tower's Administrator]
For a few seconds, I just stared at the screen… then burst out laughing.
"Pfft—HAHAHAHA! I'm so damn OP the Tower had to add extra rules just for me!" I wiped a tear, still grinning. "Oh, I'm so tempted to test my Class effect, but judging by that 'Authority of The Creator' line… it's not gonna be easy to bypass, huh?"
[Smart]
I smirked. "Heh, thought so."
Then another question popped into my head. "By the way, how much time has passed here? Is there a limit to how long I can stay?"
[This is a limbo space. Time flows extremely slowly here. Most players finish their Awakening and leave, but you can take your time. In the outside world, only about a minute will pass after you exit.]
My brows raised. The system sounds almost… human. Still, I brushed the thought aside. I didn't have much information to reach a conclusive answer.
"So, is there anything else left?"
[Player's Awakening and Class selection are complete]
[Since Player Max is unbound by Fate, the Tower grants him the Title: 'Fateless']
[You receive a starter package of 100 Myth Coins and 5 Myth Points]
[From now on, answering any question will cost either Myth Coins or Myth Points]
I checked my updated profile:
[Myth Points – 1005]
[Myth Coins – 100]
[Title(s) – Fateless]
[Fateless: A Title bestowed upon one who is not bound by Fate. You walk a path with no predestination. Beware—your choices may shape or shatter the fates of others]
"Whoa, that sounds more like a warning than a reward," I muttered. "Still… warnings can be useful."
With the Awakening complete, I turned my focus to my gear. I had the time so I decided to equip myself with something better. The Shop was locked, so I couldn't buy skills yet. So, I decided to use my abilities to upgrade my basic gear.
I placed my hand on the hilt of my katana and activated my Innate Ability. The activation felt natural as breathing to me.
The reality shimmered and in an instant, dozens of katanas materialized around me—fifty in total, hovering mid-air before dropping neatly onto the ground.
"Fifty identical swords. Not bad." Next, I focused on my Talent, Fusion, and began merging process, two at a time.
That's the good thing about Talent and Innate Ability, you don't need to practice or feel for it. You just do. The only limitation is you have to explore it on your own.
Halfway through, I paused. "Wait, how high do weapon ranks even go?"
[5 Myth Coins]
"Ah—hold up." I grinned and used my ability to multiply my Myth Points and Coins.
[Myth Points – 1005 ×50 = 50,250]
[Myth Coins – 100 ×50 = 5,000]
"Now that's better." I paid the cost.
[-5 Myth Coins]
[Weapon and Artifact Tiers range from 0 to 21. Tier depends on the blacksmith crafting it. Each Tier is separated by material quality:
Basic > Common > Uncommon > Rare > Epic > Legendary > Mythical > Ancient > Primordial]
"Which Tier can I use right now? Deduct the cost automatically," I asked.
[-5 Myth Coins]
[Player can use Tier 0 weapons up to the Planetary Level.]
[Suggestion: Increase your Grade for smoother communication]
"Okay, I will," I nodded, "but first let's finish fusing my katana."
After several rounds of fusion of my katana, I had one Primordial Katana and several lower-quality katana.
The Primordial katana stood out more—sleek and elegant, with dark multicolored patches along its sheath. The black blade shimmered with a faint cosmic glow.
A weapon that screamed perfection—balance, weight, sharpness, beauty.
Currently, I didn't possess any inspection skills, so I asked the Tower to analyze it.
[-15 Myth Coins]
[Name] – ???
[Type] – Living Weapon
[Rank] – Primordial Tier 0 (Growth Type)
[Bond] – None
[Abilities:]
1. Indestructible (nothing in this Existence can break this blade).
2. Ever-changing (can alter form at player's will).
3. Compatible with all forms of energy.
4. 1000× base damage when infused mana in attacks.
5. 5× bonus damage with elemental enhancement.
"Wait, it became a living weapon?" I exclaimed. "That's awesome! But why does it say no Bond? I made it; shouldn't it already be bonded to me?"
[-5 Myth Coins]
[To form a bond with a living weapon, a player must drop their blood on the weapon and assign it a name.]
"Ah, simple enough." I pricked my finger and let a drop of my blood fall onto the blade.
The moment my blood fell on the surface of the blade, the sword began glowing with brilliant white light, humming like it was alive, waiting to hear my voice.
I smiled. "Your name will be…"
The glowing blade hummed softly in my hands, trying to resonate with my heartbeat. The light wasn't blinding—just pure. Warm and alive.
It was waiting for me, a weapon born due to fusion, strengthened by my will, and now… it wanted my name.
I smiled and whispered, "Your name will be Lamina Veri."
The moment the name left my lips, the sword hummed with power. The light around it turned into waves of black and white energy, swirling together, showing darkness devouring the light and light reclaiming darkness in an endless cycle.
[Bond successfully established]
[Weapon Name:] Lamina Veri
[Type:] Living Weapon
[Rank:] Primordial Tier 0 (Growth Type)
[Unique Skills:] Mnemonic Resonance (Unlocked); (Locked); (Locked)
The air around the blade changed; my eyes widened as a faint thread of energy connected from my chest to the weapon. I could feel it—its presence, hunger, and loyalty.
My gaze lingered on the Unique Skill; I focused on it.
[Mnemonic Resonance:] This enables your weapon to assimilate other weapons, monster cores, dead bodies, or elemental essence to gain that particular trait.
The description was befitting that of a Primordial rank. It wasn't just a weapon anymore; it was alive, and it was mine.
I swung it once, and the air split like paper. The sheer sharpness created a ripple in the limbo space, distorting the view around me.
"Damn…" I muttered in awe. "You really are something special, huh, Lamina?"
The blade let out a faint hum—like a purr of acknowledgment.
[Bond Stability: 100%]
[Lamina Veri recognizes Player Max as its Master]
[Current Growth Limit: Planetary Stage]
"Planetary Stage, huh? That's a lot of room to grow." I grinned. "Guess we'll be climbing together, partner."
