Chapter 204 - Chapter 204: Heading to Kanto, Goal: Miltank!

Ever since he first crossed over into this world, Draconis had heard the name of the Magical Beast Master, Aaron, from Alfred.

Even though they lived in the same era, Draconis truly hadn't expected to meet Aaron so soon.

At the very least... shouldn't he have waited until they developed steam-powered galleons and ushered in the Great Age of Discovery?

Aaron and Lucario were characters from the movie 'Lucario and the Mystery of Mew'.

In the plot, Aaron went to the Tree of Beginning to stop a war, but he never returned.

Lucario, on the other hand, was sealed inside a staff. It wasn't until thousands of years later, when Ash arrived, that the seal was broken, and together they uncovered the truth that had been buried in the past.

It was precisely because of this movie that countless viewers fell in love with the Pokémon Lucario.

And now... Aaron and Lucario were standing right before his eyes, giving Draconis a distinct sense of unreality.

"However, since Aaron and Lucario have come here, it means the events of the movie haven't happened yet. War hasn't broken out in Oldalun City, and Aaron hasn't sacrificed himself to the Tree of Beginning yet," Draconis thought to himself.

He looked at Aaron in front of him and spoke, "You should have already met my father."

"Reporting to Your Majesty Draconis, your father requested that I visit Nimbasa City to see what kind of appearance this place has taken under your governance," Aaron replied.

"Have you seen it yet?" Draconis asked.

Aaron recalled the scenes he had witnessed along the way and gave a slight nod.

"It's just... I am somewhat unclear on how you managed to make creatures like magical beasts live together with humans in such a manner."

Hearing these words, Draconis did not answer directly, but instead turned his gaze toward the Lucario standing beside Aaron.

"How long have you and Lucario been together?"

Lucario was slightly taken aback.

Aaron glanced at it and replied, "Nearly ten years."

Draconis smiled and said, "I think you have already found the answer to that question."

Aaron froze for a moment.

But Draconis continued:

"Humans and Pokémon—or 'magical beasts' as you call them—are inherently part of this world. I believe that over in Oldalun City, they have also mastered using the power of magical beasts to get things done."

"Because humans have already discovered that Pokémon possess incredibly powerful strength. They can bring all sorts of changes to human life. It was only a matter of time before we learned to utilize their power."

"However, unlike us, your side uses force to capture them and relies on whips to exploit them."

"Whereas here... we use a better way. This method doesn't just change human life; it also brings great benefits to the Pokémon."

"Mutual benefit and a win-win for both sides."

As an Aura Guardian, Aaron was very intelligent. Combining his own example with Lucario, he quickly understood the meaning contained within Draconis's words.

This was a path they had never even considered... "Your Majesty, you are truly young and promising!" Aaron couldn't help but say.

Draconis smiled. He was quite happy to finally see a familiar face.

"Just call me Draconis," Draconis said, then asked, "How have things been in Oldalun City lately?"

"Under the governance of Queen Lynn, everything is well in Oldalun City," Aaron answered.

Draconis hummed in acknowledgement. The Kanto Continent... was that the current name for the Kanto Region and Johto Region?

Many Pokémon lived there that weren't found in the Unova Region.

For instance, the most important Miltank; the gentle and kind Chansey, who could serve as an assistant to Nurse Joy; Mr. Mime, a great helper for housework; and Slugma, who could act as natural heating... Since he didn't know the specific location of the Kanto Continent, Draconis had originally planned to wait until steamships were successfully built to start the Great Age of Discovery and explore outwards to introduce those Pokémon to Unova.

But now that Aaron had come to Unova, didn't it mean he could go to the Kanto Region ahead of time through Aaron, bringing enough Poké Balls to introduce the Pokémon there in advance?

Moreover, with the help of the Oldalun City royalty and Queen Lynn, this matter surely wouldn't be difficult.

More importantly, with Dragonite and Kyurem, given their speed, they could travel between the two places within a single day, even starting from the Unova Region.

The more Draconis thought about it, the more tempted he became. After all, Miltank's milk was a very important food in this world; drinking it long-term could significantly improve human physical strength, making people grow stronger and sturdier.

However, he couldn't be too hasty.

Aaron had come from afar; it would be far too rude to urge him to leave right now.

Draconis looked at Aaron and Lucario and spoke, "The two of you have come a long way. Stay in the city today and have a good rest. Alfred, prepare accommodations for our guests."

"As you command, Your Majesty," Alfred replied.

He stood up, walked to Aaron, and said respectfully, "Sir, please follow me."

Aaron was indeed a bit weary. He nodded, bid farewell to Draconis on the throne, and followed Alfred with Lucario to their quarters.

"Sir Aaron, our shops here in Nimbasa City have many foods specially prepared for Pokémon. I think you and Lucario should go and give them a try," Alfred suggested.

Food specially prepared for magical beasts?

Aaron glanced at the Lucario beside him and nodded, "I will go take a look."

Soon, the two of them arrived at their quarters.

"Please have a good rest," Alfred said. "If you need anything, you can instruct the maids."

"I understand," Aaron nodded.

Only then did Alfred turn and take his leave.

Aaron returned to his room. He had originally wanted to rest properly, but seeing Lucario's gaze glancing out the window from time to time, he immediately understood its thoughts.

It must have heard what that man said about there being many foods specially prepared for Pokémon and wanted to try them!

Seeing this, a look of helplessness couldn't help but appear on Aaron's face.

"Lucario, let's go for a stroll on the streets," Aaron said, standing up.

Lucario was stunned for a moment, then asked through Aura, "Sir Aaron, don't you need to rest?"

Aaron shook his head gently, "Don't worry. More than resting, I want to see how humans and magical beasts live together in this place."

"Yes, Sir Aaron!" Lucario replied.

Compared to Oldalun City, the streets here in Nimbasa City looked clean, beautiful, and grand.

The roads were paved with neat red bricks, and flower beds were built on both sides, planted with various kinds of flowers. Some small Pokémon lived there, making the place look like it had both the bustle and prosperity of a royal city and the essence of nature.

Some residents living in the town were Reisurely strolling on the roads, and occasionally, one could see Commoners who had grown tired sitting by the flower beds to rest.

Regarding magical beasts... people's attitudes didn't hold much fear; instead, there was a sense of casual familiarity, as if they were facing fellow humans.

In the past, when he and Lucario walked through Oldalun City, the surrounding Commoners would focus their gazes on them one after another.

But now, people would only take a simple glance, give them a warm smile, and then continue with their own business.

"Is this the scene of humans and magical beasts living together?" Aaron murmured in contemplation.

"If only Oldalun City could be like this too," Lucario couldn't help but say.

"It will be," Aaron said softly.

This trip to Nimbasa City was intended for him to learn, so he could take those lessons back to Oldalun City and offer suggestions to Queen Lynn.

For example, learning to utilize and harness the power of magical beasts and applying them to the military and daily life, thereby improving the overall national strength.

If they could truly utilize the power of magical beasts as skillfully as this, then they wouldn't need to worry about the upcoming war anymore, would they?

"Come take a look! Snacks made with fresh sweet honey!"

While he was lost in thought, a shout suddenly came from ahead.

Aaron looked up and realized that they had unknowingly walked into the commercial district.

Shops lined the area: bakeries, tailor shops, restaurants, inns, barbershops, bathhouses... shadows of people flickered on the streets, and he could even see many figures of magical beasts.

Some children and Pokémon stood before the glass display windows of a bakery, looking at the exquisitely shaped, sweet, and soft bread inside with faces full of longing.

Several noblewomen sat in front of a shop with a few Lillipup and Skitty, chatting Reisurely while the shop assistants used wooden combs to groom their Pokémon's fur.

This place... is so prosperous!

In Oldalun City, one could probably only see such a scene during major festivals and celebrations!

However, when Aaron's gaze caught the figures of flying pokémon taxis flying across the sky from time to time, he quickly understood the reason.

It made sense; with such convenient transportation, the citizens of Eindoak could travel to other cities as they pleased.

This really is... convenient!

"Sniff, sniff!"

Just as Aaron was marveling at the prosperity here, Lucario beside him twitched its nose as if it had caught a scent, sniffing something in the air.

Aaron was slightly taken aback. He looked at Lucario and immediately felt a wave of Joy and excitement through its Aura.

"Lucario? Did you discover something?"

"Sir Aaron, it smells so good!" As Lucario spoke, its eyes couldn't help but look in one direction.

Aaron followed its line of sight and saw a shop at the end of the street.

The shop's decor was very warm, and the sign was an Eevee's head carved from wood, with six simple and direct characters written next to it.

—Pokémon Snack Shop.

At this time, many customers had already gathered in front of that shop—not just humans, but many Pokémon as well.

They were of all kinds and sizes, but what was the same was that all their gazes were uniformly fixed on the interior of the shop.

Inside the glass display window, portions of exquisitely shaped snacks were displayed.

The scent Lucario mentioned must be coming from there.

"Let's go take a look," Aaron said.

Lucario's eyes lit up.

The two of them arrived in front of the shop and heard the shop assistant inside shouting:

"Don't miss out! Delicious snacks specially researched by His Majesty Draconis for Pokémon! We have pokéblocks, poffins, and soufflés! I heard even the Divine Dragon Lord Kyurem by His Majesty's side loves to eat them!"

"What? Snacks that even Lord Kyurem loves? Give me one!"

"I want one too!"

"I was here first!"

The crowd grew even more crowded.

"Alright, everyone, don't worry, there's enough for everyone. Line up and take it slow!" the shop assistant said helplessly.

"Sir Aaron... maybe we should forget it!" Seeing so many people, Lucario couldn't help but try to persuade him.

Sir Aaron held a noble status; when had he ever done such a thing?

"Don't worry, Lucario," Aaron shook his head gently.

He lined up behind the crowd, waited for a long time, and purchased a pokéblock and a poffin from the shop, then handed the paper bag to Lucario.

"Sir Aaron..." Having witnessed the whole process, Lucario was incredibly moved.

"Try them," Aaron said. "I heard these are foods specially made for your kind."

Lucario nodded. It took a pokéblock and put it in its mouth. Instantly, an extremely rich flavor flooded its mouth.

Lucario's pupils shrank, and a dazzling light burst from its eyes.

This is... so delicious!

It had never eaten anything so tasty!

Lucario happily feasted, while Aaron stood by, watching the scene with a smile.

After a good while, Lucario finally snapped out of it and hurriedly said:

"Thank you, Sir Aaron."

"Don't mention it, Lucario. Just as His Majesty Draconis said, there is no master-servant relationship between you and me. We are..." Aaron weighed his words and said, "friends living together."

"Sir Aaron..." Lucario's eyes grew moist.

"Eat up. Once you're done, we'll go back and have a good rest," Aaron said softly.

"Yes, Sir Aaron!"

Inside the castle, Draconis was flipping through a book titled 'Annals of the Continent'. The author was a traveler who was said to have visited many places.

"There is more than just one piece of land in the world" was the content proposed in this book.

The Pokémon world of thousands of years ago might have significant differences from the world Draconis was familiar with.

And now, Draconis was trying to find information about other places from it.

"Your Majesty, do you really intend to head to the Kanto Continent?" Alfred couldn't help but ask.

Draconis nodded: "I've read in books that many Pokémon not found here live on that continent. They possess all kinds of miraculous powers and can play a crucial role in the development of the kingdom. Moreover... with Kyurem, I can travel back and forth between the two places in less than a day."

And he only needed to bring enough Poké Balls to introduce the Pokémon from the Kanto Region to Unova.

Thinking of this, Draconis added, "Additionally, prepare five hundred Poké Balls for me."

"I understand, Your Majesty," Alfred replied softly, then turned to leave to carry out the order.

Meanwhile, Draconis stared at the illustrations in the book depicting other lands, falling into deep thought.

"Not just Kanto, but also Galar, Paldea, Hoenn, Kalos... Sinnoh. No, the current Sinnoh should still be known as the Hisui Region."
