A Private Question
The palace corridors were quiet.
Alexander sat on a window ledge, feet swinging gently, watching the light shift across Asgard.
Loki approached without announcing himself.
"You're doing something," Loki said calmly.
Alexander looked up. "Something bad?"
"No," Loki replied. "Something impossible."
Alexander tilted his head.
"You understand magic faster than anyone," Loki continued. "Even Mother. Even me."
Silence stretched.
Finally, Alexander spoke softly.
"I just… break it down."
Loki raised an eyebrow.
"Magic isn't mystery," Alexander said. "It's intention, structure, and balance. If you simplify the structure, the intent flows easier."
He picked up a small pebble.
"This is power," he said. "Don't fight it. Ask it to move."
The pebble floated—clean, effortless.
Loki stared.
"…That's it?"
Alexander nodded. "You don't need more than that."
Loki exhaled slowly.
Then smiled.
"…Thank you."
Alexander smiled back.
A Terrible Idea
Later that day—
Loki leaned closer.
"I have an idea."
Alexander's eyes sparkled. "Is it bad?"
"Historically," Loki said, "yes."
They whispered.
They planned.
They refined.
And then—
They waited.
The Hammer Speaks
Thor strode into the training yard, Mjölnir in hand.
The moment his fingers wrapped around the handle—
A voice boomed across the yard.
"I AM THOR! GOD OF THE HAMMER!"
Thor froze.
"…I didn't say that."
The warriors froze.
Then—
Thor lifted Mjölnir again.
"I AM THOR! STRONGEST IN ASGARD!"
Thor's eyes widened.
"What sorcery is this?!"
Alexander bit his lip to keep from laughing.
Loki was already losing it.
Thor raised the hammer again.
"BEHOLD MY MIGHT!"
The yard erupted.
Laughter echoed from every corner.
Warriors fell to their knees laughing.
Valkyries doubled over.
Servants fled—not in fear, but in hysterics.
Thor turned red.
"STOP TALKING!"
"I AM THOR!"
The Palace Loses Control
By the time Odin arrived—
Thor was yelling at his hammer.
The hammer was yelling back.
Odin stared.
Then—
Laughed.
Hard.
Frigga covered her face, shoulders shaking.
"This," Odin said between laughs, "will be remembered."
Immortalized
And it was.
Scribes recorded it.
Bards sang it.
History books later titled it:
"The Day Mjölnir Spoke."
A footnote was added centuries later:
Attributed to the clever collaboration of Prince Loki and Prince Alexander.
Thor was not amused.
Aftermath
Thor eventually found them.
Arms crossed.
Eyes narrowed.
"You," he said slowly, "are both doomed."
Alexander shrugged. "Worth it."
Loki grinned. "Completely."
They laughed—
And Asgard laughed with them.
