Chapter 6 - Chapter 5: The Memory

"What kind of girls do you like!?"

-Aoi Todo, Jujutsu Kaisen ch 16

__________

"My name is Akemura Soga, nice to meet you all." A simple bow was all he gave to all of his future classmates in front of him. To be honest, it was more than he thought. He heard that people died all the time when they came to the Jujutsu profession, but here in these classrooms, there were more people than he thought.

Well, when he said there was more than he thought, there were only three of them here.

Two girls and...

"Is that a robot?" It was something I just noticed, something that I couldn't believe I didn't see until now. "Why is there a robot in the class?"

"You can call me Mechamaru," the robot introduced itself, its voice filled with subtle static, yet a male voice was easily heard.

"Ah, don't worry about him, due to his circumstances, he couldn't attend class normally, so he used his robot instead," the blue-haired woman quickly chimed before giving him a friendly smile and an introduction, "I'm Kasumi Miwa, by the way."

Akemura turned his attention to the last person in the class. The woman looked at him intently, as if trying to see something deeper in him. "Mai Zenin."

It was a simple introduction, and Miwa gave an awkward laugh in response, while Mechamaru stayed silent, saying not a single word. But before the silence got awkward, the robot spoke up.

"Was it you who released the Cursed Energy I detected earlier this morning?" Mechamaru questioned

Akemura simply gave him a single blink before answering, "Yeah, that was me."

"Tch,"

An audible click of the tongue rang out immediately, and it was obvious where it came from.

"Another talented freak."

"Mai! You can't be saying that to our new classmate!" Miwa quickly interjected before any tension could rise in the room, while Akemura didn't seem to be bothered by her statement at all.

"From what I could detect, you might even have more than Satoru Gojo." The robot ignored what was happening in the room and continued his analysis.

"So I been told by the man himself," Akemura added in, but the statement quickly earned attention from Miwa herself.

"Eh!? Even more than Satoru Gojo himself!? Isn't that made him-!?"

"A Special Grade? Yes, I had been told by all of the people I met so far." Akemura said as his eyes moved toward the one person that hated him the most in the room, "I, for one, didn't see anything wrong with that."

"Of course, you said that," Mai said as Miwa, who had been trying to be a moderator in this entire situation, only let out a sigh as her smile became a bit more strained.

"Obviously, I can't see myself being weak at all," Akemura said as a smirk formed on his face, "But then again, I'm sure you know a thing or two about being weak."

"Why you-!?"

Before any of it could escalate any further, the door of the class quickly opened, startling everyone in the room except for Mechamaru for obvious reasons, and a figure quickly stepped in.

A mountain of muscle with a topknot and a scar slashed across his face—one look, and you'd never forget him.

"I heard there was a new student here! Where is he!?" He said, as his voice echoed loudly in the room, that two figures stood behind him: a boy and a girl.

"Todo, you can't just barge into the room like that; it is not considered proper." The boy said as he quickly came to stand beside Todo, "But I admit I am also curious to see a new face as well, considering the amount of Cursed Energy I felt earlier."

"I just don't want to be left out alone in the class," the girl said, letting out a sigh.

"Ah! Todo senpai, Kamo senpai, Nishimiya senpai, you all can't be here! Class is about to start soon!" Miwa quickly stood up from her seat and looked at all of the people who had just come in.

"Hmph! Foolish kouhai, a man such as myself has no need for some simple education!" Todo said as he crossed his arms before looking at the one person in the room who had been the centre of attention of everyone this morning, "And you must be the new student."

"How the hell do you even know that? I just got here this morning."

"Naturally, with my superb deduction skill, it was obvious that we would be getting a new student here." It sounded nonsensical to Akemura's ears, but since his classmates seemed to believe him, it only meant that the man's words had some validity.

"But I am not here for pleasantry!" " Todo!" he exclaimed as he took off his jacket, then gripped his shirt, ripping it open to reveal a muscled body beneath.

"What in Kiryu's name?"

"My name is Aoi Todo!" he shouted, his voice reverberating throughout the entire room. "What is your!?"

"Eh... Akemura Soga?" The absolute absurdity of the situation had even Akemura questioning his sanity, to the point that he began to question his own name, as what he was seeing felt unreal. But when he looked at everyone in the room, all of their expression seemed convey one thing to him, and that was the fact that this seemed to be normal for them.

"Akemura Soga!" Todo shouted, this time even louder than before, "Tell me! What type of girls do you like!?"

...

...

...

"I feel like I'm missing a lot of context here..." Akemura muttered as the look of disbelief was as clear as day on his face, "Is this like, a comedy routine or...?"

"No," the boy, Kamo, quickly answered, his voice fully monotone as if this was the most normal thing in the world, "You better answer him, or he'll be asking you all day long, trust me, I know."

"But why?" It was utterly stupid to someone like Akemura; his brain, despite all of the knowledge, simply couldn't keep up with Todo's high-level IQ and his deep question. "Is this even important?"

"Of course it is!" Todo chimed in again, "It doesn't matter who you like, boy or girl, a personal taste is something that everyone has! It is, by our very nature, to have a favourite that fits who we are! People who had boring tastes would then be boring people! And I don't like boring people!"

"To make you feel comfortable since you are new, I will tell you my first! My type is tall girls with big butts!"

Maybe enrolling here was a terrible mistake... The thought echoed in Akemura's mind. Still, if he didn't answer, Todo would hound him all day—and that was a fate he wanted to avoid.

Learning from what Todo had just said, he knew saying something along the lines of 'a girl with a nice personality' would be something Todo considered boring, so he really needed to think about his answer.

Really think about his answer.

To the outside perspective, Akemura was being really quiet, but despite that, his expression was all they needed to know what kind of thought was running through his head right now.

Is he really thinking about it?! They all had the same thought, looking at Akemura, who was clearly thinking really hard right now.

Todo didn't judge as he stayed silent, giving Akemura all the time in the world to answer his question. If anything, the buildup to the question was getting into him, getting him more and more excited to hear the answer from the person in front of him.

"You know," the silence was immediately cut by Akemura, who had now seemingly come to a conclusion, "I never really think about it before, but if I were to answer your question, my type of girl would be..."

The tension inside Todo reached an all-time high as Akemura looked straight into Todo's eyes, piercing his very soul, just before giving Todo something that would change his life forever.

"I love the kind of woman that can kick my ass," Akemura said, and before anyone could register what he said, he continued on, "Appearance-wise, tall or short doesn't matter, I prefer boob more than butt, however, and if you could add spice into it, they must also be quite a bit dysfunctional as well."

Everyone stared at Akemura, faces swirling with every emotion imaginable. But Todo?

Todo was the one who got the most effect from it.

It was at this very moment that a memory was born inside Aoi Todo's brain.

A past that never was.

...

...

...

For Aoi Todo, today was nothing short of legendary.

Right here, right now, he was in the VIP seat for Takada-chan's concert; with it, he could appreciate her appearance even more as her beauty was still as brilliant as the sun.

Nay, that would be an insult toward Takada-chan herself, for a mere celestial body such as the sun could never outshine her beauty.

Her voice, as beautiful as her appearance, was a perfect harmony to his ears, so that if he were to keep listening, he would achieve enlightenment in no time.

And her words were as beautiful as wise; her song would light up even the darkest of nights while giving the most foolish of men a revelation he could never know.

And now, in the front row, he was not just witnessing but experiencing the phenomenon that was Takada-chan. Everything about her could bring the mightiest man to his knees.

Everything about her was perfect.

There were no flaws in this perfect being.

For no one could ever insult her-!

"Man, she is not as good as everyone said."

Such blasphemous words! How dare he!!

"I heard she was great and all, I even bought the VIP seat, but I feel like she's too overhyped,"

The culprit? None other than Akemura Soga, now guilty of the gravest heresy imaginable.

"Someone like Eita is much better than her."

"How dare you!?"

He had enough of this ignorance, man! How could someone like this existed in the first place!?

"Forgive him, Takada-chan, for he knows not of your greatness," Todo muttered to himself as he looked at Akemura in the eyes, the latter of whom stared back at him.

"Greatness? Nonsense, she's not that amazing, you're just too delusional to see the greatness in someone else, like Tairakuri Eita, for example."

"Foolishness! Compared to Takada-chan, that anime singer got nothing on her!" Such a statement from Akemura was heresy in the highest order, and yet here he was uttering them as if there would be no consequence to them.

"You're the one who is foolish, as if her would be as great as someone like Eita," Akemura said before giving Todo the most condescending smirk that he had ever seen in this non-existent life of his, "Her boob is not even that big."

"That's it!" Todo exclaimed, "That worthless pair of flesh got nothing to her glorious bottom, someone like you would never understand the glory that was Takada-chan!!"

"And you are too blind to see the truth! Takada is not as good as you think!" Akemura exclaimed

No one remembered who did it first, but a punch was thrown, and both he and Akemura started to fight, and in the background, Takada-chan continued to sing for her peerless performance could never be interrupted by something as nothing as this.

...

...

...

"Yes, I remember now, at that concert," Todo said, looking up. His face was fierce, with nothing but the fire of determination behind those eyes. "You were there, speaking such foolish things, in her presence."

"Yes, you..."

"My rival."

"I feel like no amount of context would help me on this," Akemura muttered.

A/N

Welcome, Todo. He is the one getting the spotlight for now, but he is obviously worried there will be more about Tokyo students soon.

One thing I must say: I hate writing character descriptions of their appearance, so if you noticed the lack of descriptions, it's just me being lazy and not wanting to challenge myself.

Also, what do you think about Todo delusio- I mean memory? I say I done quite a decent job there.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Leave a review if you want to!

Ciao!
