"Why are you still standing there? Come with me," Bloomi asked Nyxar, who was standing in front of her, staring blankly.
Moving her foot, she pointed to the baby badger playing behind her feet and asked, "How do I send this back?"
Bloomi looked at the baby badger for a few seconds, then looked at Nyxar and said, "Put your right hand on its head, that's enough."
Nyxar bent down, placed his right hand on the baby badger's head, and said, "Sorry buddy, I don't like confining anything anywhere, but there's no other way now," and dismissed the baby badger.
They both started walking.
"So what's your path?", Bloomi asked Nyxar, who was walking behind her, without turning her head.
"Hmm... it's a hybrid path and my beast core is a Honey badger," Nyxar said without any excitement or particular feelings on his face.
"Hybrid path!?", Bloomi asked, turning her head towards Nyxar, her eyebrows raised in surprise.
"Is it that rare?"
"Rare? You'll find out in a little while," Bloomi and Nyxar arrived at the red building in Zone A.
It looked like a small training hall, next to it was a cafeteria, and finally, they arrived at a large room where fifteen people were already present, including Senso and Chief Ning.
The room was surrounded by bright white lights. In the middle of the room was a long brown wooden table, with chairs lined up on both its left and right sides. All the chairs were occupied, except for the two at the end, where Senso and Ning were seated.
The place was surrounded by an eerie silence. Except for Senso and Ning, everyone else was around Nyxar's age, or perhaps one or two years older or younger. Everyone's face was intense.
Nyxar and Bloomi entered, and he gestured towards the empty chair beside him, inviting them to sit.
Finally breaking the silence, the werewolf chief Ning cleared his throat and began to speak, "I have called you all here today for two reasons. The first is him," he said, pointing his white, furry hand towards Nyxar. Everyone looked at him, and Nyxar immediately looked up without meeting anyone's gaze.
"Huh... I hate attention, why are you people staring at me like robots?" Nyxar thought to himself.
Chief Ning continued, "Nyxar, tell everyone about your path and your beast core."
"I was chosen by the hybrid path, and my beast core is a honey badger," he said. The faces of everyone present froze in surprise, including Ning and Senso.
The place, which had been silent until then, was now filled with hushed whispers. "No wonder you're awakening the curse so late!" Senso said.
"Why!?" Nyxar asked, completely clueless.
Senso continued, "Since the time humans began to acquire the power of the curse in this world, only twenty of them have awakened the curse late. Fourteen of them were chosen by the hybrid path, and nine of them have died. There are various reasons for this; some died because their bodies couldn't adapt to the subsequent beast evolutions, and some died because they couldn't clear their curse. However, all this information is not definitive, as this information was obtained only from the cities we know. There might be hidden cities in this apocalyptic world that we don't know about."
"Wait...wait..wait... is that mean I am also going to die!?, fuck that's why I hate this shit powers, who asked this why me? All I want my rest of the life peaceful but now I don't even know I am going reach my thirty or not!?". Nyxar's thoughts goes intensely after hearing Senso's speech about hybrid path.
"Nyxar.. Nyxar are you listening or not?", Senso shaked Nyxar's shoulder lightly.
"Huh... yes mister Senso I am listening ".
"Good, if you zoon out again while I am talking, I twist your neck" Senso said sarcastically.
But Nyxar's face shows nothing.
"As I expected from this guy." Senso thought him self.
Senso continued, "Even though you already know about this curse from what was taught at the academy, I'll briefly explain it again for Nyxar. This curse's power splits into five paths:
Predators path
Pack path
Eco absorbing path
Rarity path
And Hybrid path
Then there are seven human evolution forms:
Instincts - awakened - possessed - evolved - beyond evolution - almighty - finally human angel. We don't know if the human angel form exists or not. To be precise, the exact number of evolution forms has not been confirmed. As far as we know, humans have only attained the first three forms to date."
As soon as Senso stopped, Nyxar slowly asked a question he had in mind.
"Do beasts also have seven forms?"
"No, beasts have six forms. We believe that's all there are. They are: Mutated - aberrant - alpha - apex - titan - and nature guardian." If you have any more questions, please ask the chief. I am already exhausted," Senso said lazily.
"Okay then, I'll continue from here," Chief Ning began, scratching his cheek.
"Since we know about our new curse power user Nyxar, let's move on to the second matter. Our human race's first official territory reclamation is going to begin in a few months.
Along with our city, seven other cities will participate in this territory reclamation. This will be a new beginning for our human race. If we can at least capture some of the abnormal and terror territories surrounding us, we can unite our seven cities. Then we won't need to live in this underground city anymore; we can see the sun and the moon like the humans of old, and breathe clean air. Beyond all this, this war is crucial for our city. You know what kind of danger our city is in," Ning paused for a few seconds.
"So this is our do-or-die situation. You will be given training from tomorrow, but it's not in our city, it's at UGC3. So please, everyone here, be ready for tomorrow."
Finally, Ning finished. Everyone there started to leave the place one by one and in groups. Nyxar tried to move away from there.
Senso turned to the left and said, "Nyxar and Bloomi, stay here, we want to talk about something."
