If I had to summarize my day today, it would sound something like this.
August 15, 2025.
My day started the same as always. I woke up, went to work, and got forced to do tasks that weren't even mine. I completed them somehow, but still got scolded by my self-entitled boss,
It was nothing unusual. At least, that's what I thought.
But everything changed on the subway ride back home. The world I had been seeing in my dreams for the past ten years suddenly became reality.
I used to think they were just dreams. But looking back, no one dreamt of the same world every night.
Every time I slept, the dream continued from where it left off… like I was reading a novel one chapter at a time.
That alone should have been enough to tell me something was wrong. Even the characters from those dreams became real.
They didn't exist until yesterday.
Take Charles, for example. In my dreams, he wasn't just a con artist. He was also an actor… or at least, someone who tried to be one.
A failed actor who only ever got minor roles and still managed to nuke them. I clearly remember one of the shows he worked on.
[Gregory the Cock]
Yeah… even the title sounded like it was doomed to fail.
Still, I searched for that show more than once in real life. A part of me wondered if my dreams were glimpses of the future and if the people of my dreams existed in real life. But there was nothing.
There were no records of such a show. Not even a trace.
I tried looking up Charles too, but the results were the same. It was as if he didn't exist in my world… until yesterday.
Of course, it's possible I just wasn't a good enough detective and had missed him. I'll admit that much.
But then there was "her".
The protagonist of my dreams. The girl whose story I followed through 1,513 regressions.
In my dreams, she was an actress. And just any actress, but a global superstar. Someone whose face you would recognize instantly, no matter where you lived.
There was no way someone like her could exist and leave no trace.
And yet… I couldn't find a single thing about her.
It meant [WORD] was just a world of my dreams.
I know watching the same dream continue for ten years sounds strange. But somewhere I read that the human mind was capable of doing the impossible.
Over time, I thought I was a genius ahead of his time. Some like Newton, who invented calculus, and Oppenheimer, who bombed Japan for the love of the game.
But I couldn't have been more wrong.
Today, my dreams suddenly started merging with reality, or something like that. I have no clue what has caused this.
Either way, the people living in the capitals of each country were the first to be dragged into these sick games of [WORD].
Right now, those capitals were completely sealed off.
Washington D.C., New Delhi, Seoul, Tokyo, London… each of them trapped inside massive, transparent domes.
There is no way in and no way out.
For those outside the capitals, the world was still normal. But that doesn't make things better. If anything, it makes it worse.
Entire countries have been cut off from their centres abruptly. Governments, communication, control… all of it thrown into chaos. And this was only the beginning.
As for me, I managed to survive the first scenario and was currently in the middle of an event that took place before the second scenario called [Sponsor Selection].
[The Event Sponsor Selection is ongoing.]
+
-Please select a sponsor.
-Your chosen sponsor will be your strong supporter.
-The constellations below want to make you their incarnation.
1) Spokeswoman of Justice
2) Ten-Headed Saint-Like Demon
3) Forgotten Shore
4) Amused Prankster
There were four choices in front of me, laid out like a riddle. Each one was eyeing to sponsor me.
Four constellations had taken an interest in me, which in itself was abnormal. Even in the world I had seen through my dreams, being noticed by multiple constellations this early wasn't common.
It meant I had already left a strong impression on them.
The constellations never revealed their true identities. They hid behind modifiers, which were short titles that acted like clues.
To most people, these would just sound like dramatic nonsense, but they were fragments of a constellation's story. They could be used to find the real names of the constellations.
I had spent ten years watching this world unfold. If there was one advantage I had, it was information.
I focused on the first option.
[Spokeswoman of Justice]
The name sounded simple, yet the person behind it was really powerful.
Justice wasn't a flexible concept in this world. It was rigid, absolute, and often cruel depending on who defined it.
The word "Spokeswoman" made it even clearer. This wasn't just someone who believed in justice, but someone who declared it, enforced it, and acted as its voice.
There weren't many beings who fit that description. A goddess of wisdom and war, someone who judged with logic rather than emotion and rarely questioned her own conclusions.
Athena.
If I chose her, I would gain a stable and powerful sponsor. My growth would be efficient, and my chances of survival would increase over time with strong backing. She won't think twice about pampering me if I get on her good side.
However, constellations like hers of the [Justice] didn't tolerate deviation. The moment I stepped outside her definition of justice, the support I received could easily turn into pressure or even punishment.
It wasn't a partnership. It was guidance that bordered on control.
I moved on.
Ten-Headed Saint-Like Demon.
The moment I read it, the contradiction stood out immediately. Saint-like and demon in the same title. That alone narrowed it down quite a lot.
Add the detail of ten heads, and there was no room for doubt.
