Chapter 3 - The Beautiful Vampire Queen And The Crimson Eye

"Who are you, gorgeous?" Lex asked as he looked at the beauty in front of him. She was sitting on the windowsill with her silvery-white hair flowing down her back. Her appearance was otherworldly, and her ocean blue eyes felt like they could draw anyone in.

"What will I gain if I tell you? Maybe a kiss?" The lady teased while giving Lex a wink. For a second, Lex lost all rationality and was enchanted by her beauty.

When she smiled, two fangs showed between her lips. She looked… vampiric.

SLAP!

Lex slapped himself on the cheek as he brought himself back to reality. He had left his guard down for a moment, and that was enough for him to lose control.

Whosoever he was dealing with right now wasn't just a beautiful lady. There was more to her than met the eye!

"Stop playing with me, just tell me who you are!" Lex said with borderline hostility. He was ready to attack her if he needed to. He might have fallen for beauty for a second, but that was enough for him to learn a lesson.

He wouldn't fall for a second time, no matter how beautiful she was! He wouldn't fall even if she stripped naked right on the spot!

Surely, right? Well, at least he hoped so.

The lady moved from the windowsill and started walking towards Lex with deliberate steps. Now that she was standing, Lex could see her figure even more clearly. Her boobs were big, at least D cup and when combined with her slim waist, an hourglass figure was formed.

But that ass of hers was the most eye-catching part! Her silhouette curved in a way that felt as if her body had been designed to challenge a man's focus.

The slow sway of her steps drew Lex's eyes despite his will, each movement carrying grace that made his throat feel dry!

The gentle arc of her hips moved like a silent spell, hypnotic and unhurried, leaving behind a trail of heat that had nothing to do with temperature.

Lex clenched his jaw as she stopped right in front of him. Her arms circled around him as a fruity smell hit his nose.

"Strawberry?" He blurted out as their face were inches away from each other.

"Oh my, even after all that, you aren't enchanted? I thought you would fold in ten seconds. From the way you were behaving earlier, it looked like you never had experience with any woman. But I guess I was wrong hehe."

Lex looked at the giggling beauty for a solid second before replying. "Women? Women, you say? I… change my girlfriend every week! I might be the most experienced man out there!"

Lex blurted out with full confidence. In reality, Lex had absolutely no experience with women.

None.

 Zero.

He had a legendary record of nothing.

The number of women he had properly seen in his whole life could be counted on the fingers of one hand, and even that felt generous. Most of his life had been spent staring at the white ceilings of the hospital and hearing the cries of different patients daily.

'Change girlfriends every week, huh…'

Lex almost wanted to laugh at himself.

The only women who had ever been around him were nurses. Even they, except Jenny, just checked his vitals, adjusted his sheets, and rushed out. They ghosted him harder than they ghosted their exes. Half of them probably did not even remember his name.

Whereas the doctors were even worse. They were huge, burly men with shoulders like apes and arms covered in thick hair. Their bald heads reflected light like mirrors! And their messy beard reminded Lex of cavemen!

One of them had once leaned over him to check his breathing, and Lex had seriously questioned if the doctor was trying to give him any signal.

'Yeah, you are a real romantic, Lex. You are the Real Casanova.'

Lex swallowed hard, thinking about it.

The closest thing he had ever had to a "girlfriend" was when nurse Jenny first smiled at him and said "Good morning" in a gentle voice. He had replayed that moment in his head for three days straight.

Three whole days!

And now he was standing here, claiming he changed girlfriends every week. But his pride wouldn't allow him to admit the truth! So he straightened his back, holding onto his lie like it was the last bit of pride he had left.

"Mhm~ I wonder how good such a skilled man is at kissing. As for knowing what is happening here, you will come to know about it soon. I am Victoria, by the way. A 5th codex vampire queen."

Victoria finally revealed her name as she looked outside. Lex followed her gaze, and what he saw made his skin crawl!

The sky no longer looked like the sky he remembered.

It had become a vast red canvas as if someone had poured blood across the heavens and never bothered to wipe it away.

The clouds were gone. The sun was gone. Even the moon had vanished, replaced by something that felt wrong.

And in the centre of this new sky, an eye had appeared.

It was gigantic, so large that Lex was left speechless. A single crimson iris stared down from the heavens, glowing with a deep, burning red. Dark rings circled the pupil, spreading outward in perfect, eerie patterns.

The pupil was a black void, so deep it looked like it could swallow light. It did not blink or move; it simply stared at the world.

Lex felt naked in front of it. It was as if even his deepest secrets were left bare and open in front of it.

His skin prickled as a strange pressure descended over him. It was not just an eye in the sky. It felt like something was looking straight at him.

"Wha- what is that?" He asked Victoria who had let go of him and was sitting back on the windowsill. She looked at the eye as if it were the most beautiful thing in the world!
