Chapter 19 - inflation

"This is great!"

Lynn was overjoyed. The increase in scanning capability meant his future learning efficiency would also multiply.

The knowledge of Wizards was extremely complex and difficult to understand. Relying on oneself to learn and master it would likely consume an unknown amount of time and mental effort.

Although the speed of Analysis was not particularly fast, it was already lightning-fast compared to learning with one's own mind.

More importantly, it was a form of "idle" learning, where knowledge automatically entered his mind as time passed. Furthermore, the Analysis function allowed him to master knowledge without error, eliminating the risk of misunderstanding.

This was crucial, as much of Wizard knowledge was extremely rigorous. A single mistaken character or misinterpreted meaning could lead to severe consequences.

He immediately put the Analysis function into full operation, while he focused entirely on understanding and memorizing the structure of the Faint Soul Impact sorcery model, further accelerating the Analysis speed.

A few days later, through the combined efforts of the system panel and his own hard work, the Analysis progress of Faint Soul Impact reached one hundred percent.

Lynn successfully constructed the Faint Soul Impact sorcery model within his spiritual core.

What surprised him most was that, under the combined effects of his Super Soul Talent, the Soul Whisper Meditation Method, and the panel's 100% Analysis, Faint Soul Impact could omit the incantation and gesture steps.

A typical First-Class Apprentice needs to softly chant a few short syllables when casting a Level 0 cantrip. At the same time, they must point their fingers or palm at the target and concentrate their spirit to complete the model's construction and activation. This process usually takes one to two seconds.

Although Lynn could not yet achieve "Instant Cast," he could perform silent, motionless casting, and the casting speed was extremely fast, compressing the time to just 0.2 seconds. With more practice, this time could be shortened further, and once pushed to the extreme, it would be no different from Instant Cast.

This was the power of 100% Analysis completion, signifying complete mastery of the sorcery.

This greatly increased his combat power and flexibility, allowing him to overwhelm opponents in battle.

Sure enough, choosing soul-type sorcery had been the right decision.

With this skill in hand, Lynn felt an unbearable itch and urgently wanted to test it. This was true transcendent power.

Lynn restrained the faint energy fluctuations emanating from his body. Just as he pushed open the door, he nearly collided with Carl, who was rushing toward him.

"Lynn, you finally came out! We… we were bullied by those scum from Blackwater City!"

Lynn frowned slightly. Trouble had arrived.

He originally did not want to intervene in other people's affairs, even if they were companions from the same city. This kind of childish rivalry, jealousy, and fighting was meaningless in his eyes.

But he had just accepted nine Magic Stones from them as a "protection fee." If he refused now, he'd have no where to find shame.

At that moment, the others from Black Marsh City gathered around. Lillian and Elaine's eyes were red and swollen, their faces bearing clear palm prints. Thomas and Benjamin were also bruised and swollen. Mary followed behind, looking unharmed.

Carl was filled with anger.

"Lillian and the others were harassed by those scumbags from Blackwater City on the deck! We went to reason with them, but we ended up getting beaten! You have to stand up for us!"

Lillian sobbed as she pleaded, "Lynn… they said terrible things, and they groped us…"

A light flashed in Lynn's eyes.

Perfect. He needed to test the power of his sorcery, and these test subjects had delivered themselves right to his door. Besides, Carl and the others had paid a full nine Magic Stones as a "protection fee." According to the records in his "little notebook," the Blackwater City group had only sponsored one Magic Stone in total.

The highest bidder wins. That was only fair.

No matter the relationship or the number of Magic Stones, everything pointed in one direction.

Having made his decision, Lynn calmly said to the anxious Carl, "Lead the way."

On the deck, the scum from Blackwater City were gathered together, mocking other apprentices and occasionally bursting into laughter. Leading them was a tall, sturdy apprentice, surrounded by five or six others, all wearing arrogant expressions.

More than half a month had passed since the ship set sail. Many apprentices, adrift at sea, were becoming restless, and the caution they had upon boarding had long since faded.

Conflicts had erupted not only between Black Marsh City and Blackwater City, but also among other apprentices. The Wizard did not stop these clashes, as the struggles at Withered Bone Spire Academy were far bloodier than this.

However, some people struck without restraint, resulting in missing limbs or even the death of an apprentice. This crossed the Lord Wizard's bottom line.

Escorting these apprentices safely to the Academy was part of the Lord Wizard's mission and directly tied to his contribution points. For every apprentice who died, those points would decrease.

Thus, the first apprentice who caused a killing was made into a "weather vane" by the Lord Wizard and left hanging from the mast, swaying in the wind.

After that, the apprentices understood the rules. No matter how intense the fighting became, it was limited to superficial injuries.

The people from Blackwater City were certain the Lord Wizard would not interfere, which was why they harassed and provoked others so brazenly.

The leading apprentice possessed a Physical Talent, making him stand out among a group of youths. When no one had yet mastered sorcery, his powerful fists gave him a significant advantage. If he had entered a Knight Academy, he would likely have been considered a young genius with "Innate Strength."

Unfortunately, this time he had messed with the wrong person.

Lynn's arrival immediately drew everyone's attention. With the injured apprentices glaring hatefully behind him, it was obvious he had come to stand up for them.

A good show was about to begin.

The surrounding apprentices quickly found different positions, eager to enjoy the spectacle. Many female apprentices who had previously been harassed by the Blackwater City group were visibly excited.

When the leader of Blackwater City saw Lynn approaching directly, his expression changed, and he immediately dropped his arrogant façade.

"Good day, Lord Lynn. I am Rusel from Blackwater City. Five days ago, I lent…no, no offered you one Magic Stone."

Lynn waited patiently for Rusel to finish, then calmly spoke two words.

"Nine stones."

Rusel froze. "What nine stones? I only paid one."

Lynn pointed toward Carl and the others. "They paid nine Magic Stones. If you can produce nine Magic Stones right now, I'll turn around and leave."

"Otherwise, all of you will leave something behind today."

Rusel's face changed drastically. Nine Magic Stones?

They couldn't gather that much even if they sold themselves.
