Ileana said, and though her voice stayed light on the surface, there was a brief, cold flicker beneath it before she visibly pushed the thought aside and brought her attention firmly back to the present moment.
"It doesn't matter much either way, whatever ends up waiting for us there, we'll deal with all of it together like we always do."
Neil let the subject drop without pushing further, recognizing when Ileana wanted to close a door rather than open it any wider, though he quietly made a mental note to ask her about it properly once the two of them had more privacy later on.
