Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 — One Shot, One Kill! The Genius Child Emperor

"That's everything I know."

"Please… please spare my life."

"I swear I'll turn over a new leaf and become a good person again."

"..."

The chameleon monster lay flat on the ground, pressing its body as low as possible, desperately begging for a chance to live.

It knew this very well—once its greatest strength, concealment, had been exposed, its actual combat power was so pitiful that it probably couldn't even defeat a well-trained soldier.

Not to mention the demon-god-like Ulric Cinder, or Aiden Cross himself, who was regarded as a supreme existence.

"I understand."

Aiden Cross did not respond directly. He merely nodded, as if contemplating something.

Ulric immediately grasped his intent.

Without the slightest hesitation, he casually crushed the chameleon monster's head in his palm, ending its life before it could even let out a scream.

If the Lord truly intended to spare it, he would have said so.

Since he hadn't, Ulric naturally took care of it.

To be honest, Aiden Cross never believed the chameleon monster would reform.

The fact that it had turned into a monster in the first place already proved that some extreme darkness lurked deep within its heart.

"It seems like it's time to expand our personnel," Aiden Cross said calmly.

"My lord intends to recruit new members from that world?" Ulric asked.

"That's right."

Aiden Cross nodded.

He slowly immersed his consciousness into the Chairman's Ring.

The accumulated energy points had reached 8,425.

After all, more than fifty Tiger-level disasters and over a thousand Wolf-level disasters had been eliminated—this was essentially harvesting most of the monsters currently active in the United States.

Using Random Summoning, he could perform eighty-four pulls.

A Hero League of this scale could not possibly be maintained by just five or six people.

Not only the United States—monsters across the entire Earth had already been listed as valid hunting targets by Aiden Cross.

"Hoo…"

He let out a long breath and slowly closed his crimson eyes.

Random Summoning was ultimately a test of luck.

And when it came to luck-based draws, a bit of ritual never hurt.

Maybe—just maybe—he would land a perfect pull.

Alright.

Let's start with a ten-pull.

As 1,000 energy points were deducted, the summoning system within the Chairman's Ring began to flow.

[Ding — Congratulations, you have successfully summoned D-Class Hero: Unlicensed Rider]

[Ding — Congratulations, you have successfully summoned D-Class Hero: Dark Flame Dragon Blade User]

[Ding — Congratulations, you have successfully summoned D-Class Hero: Tanktop Black Hole]

[...]

The ten-pull ended quickly.

Ten D-Class heroes.

Perfect.

Absolutely perfect bad luck.

Most of them could barely handle Wolf-level disasters, and if they ran into a slightly stronger one, they might even get wiped out.

Still, looking on the bright side—even the weakest D-Class hero, like Unlicensed Rider, possessed the strength to defeat several elite special-forces soldiers single-handedly.

"...?"

Unwilling to accept it, Aiden Cross went for another ten-pull.

[Ding — Congratulations, you have successfully summoned C-Class Hero: Raven Blackwell (Age 13, Triple-Eye Combat Perception, Cursed State)]

[Ding — Congratulations, you have successfully summoned D-Class Hero: Hero League Melee Trooper A]

[Ding — Congratulations, you have successfully summoned D-Class Hero: Hero League Mage Trooper B]

[Ding — Congratulations, you have successfully summoned D-Class Hero: Hero League Siege Unit C]

[...]

Very good.

Aside from one decently promising consolation prize, the rest were still uniformly D-Class.

At this point, Aiden Cross fully accepted reality.

He was undoubtedly cursed with bad luck.

"…Forget it. I'll use Designated Summoning."

Shaking his head, he abandoned any hope of a miracle pull.

If he continued, he would probably just end up with another sixty-four D-Class heroes.

"Designated Summon: Child Emperor."

[Ding — Summoning Child Emperor requires 6,000 energy points]

[Equipped version requires 30,000 energy points]

Child Emperor originated from the One-Punch Hero world.

Only ten years old, yet already ranked among the top heroes of the Hero Association—a genuine super-genius.

Of course, Child Emperor with equipment and Child Emperor without equipment were two completely different extremes.

Without equipment, although his body was well-trained, he was still only ten years old. At best, he could dominate Tiger-level disasters. Against Demon-level disasters, he would be largely helpless.

The 6,000-point valuation was largely based on his intelligence rather than raw combat power.

After all, this was someone who could assemble a super mech at the age of ten.

And once that mech—the Dread Titan—was completed, it could obliterate even weaker Dragon-level disasters.

If summoned with his high-tech backpack and the Dread Titan included, the required energy would instantly increase fivefold.

"That's really expensive," Aiden Cross clicked his tongue.

Still, he did not hesitate and directly chose the 6,000-point version of Child Emperor.

Setting aside the fact that he currently lacked sufficient energy points—so long as Child Emperor's mind was present, as long as materials were available, he could rebuild the Dread Titan at any time.

And if Marvel-world specialties such as vibranium were used…

The Dread Titan's performance might reach an entirely new level.
