Hasegawa didn't just bark an order—she put her foot down, hard. Sena shrank back, her whole "mean girl" act gone in a flash. Kato looked like she'd just seen her own funeral. Hasegawa didn't say another word; she spun around and walked out, leaving the classroom air sharp and cold.
The second the door clicked shut, Sena's smirk oozed back in place. "Oh, this is gonna be delicious," she purred, eyes glittering with malice. "Enjoy your little 'private lesson,' assistant."
Kato was practically green. She grabbed my sleeve and whispered, "Please. Be careful. I've got a bad feeling about this..."
"Shut it. It's not what you think," I snapped, but my heart was pounding so loud I could barely hear myself.
I headed to the office. On one hand, I was trembling with fear, but on the other, I was trembling with excitement, wondering what might happen in the sensei's room, alone with her. She was already there when I walked in, leaning against her desk, arms folded, which made her chest even more voluminous. Her legs crossed, causing her tight mini skirt to ride up slightly. She looked like she was about to pass judgment, no mercy in sight.
"Hello, Sensei…"
She didn't answer. Just stared at me, eyes heavy and cold enough to bruise. "Close the door," she said, voice low and dangerous.
I closed it, clicked the lock, and before I even turned around, she was right in my face.
Bamp!
Her hands slammed against the door, trapping me between. Classic kabedon that will make anyone melt, and my teeth rattled. She was so close I could feel her breath, the scent that could make me drunk if this continues for long. And a bit lewd not gonna lie. Funny, I was actually focused on the beads of sweat flowing from her cheek down her smooth neck.
"How dare you?" she hissed, eyes burning.
"How dare I'm what?"
"Don't play dumb with me, Romi Aramata. You think this is funny? You think it's okay to go blabbing about what happened in here to your little friends? I have no idea you're a chatter type!"
"I—I'm sorry, but there was no hiding it," I stammered, pinned between her and the door. "Sena saw everything. You know what she's like—she'd make up something even worse if I didn't tell her."
"The truth?" She let out a bitter, flat laugh. "You turned a private moment, our private moment, into a circus. Do you have any idea what this does to me? To my job?"
"S-sorry… I'm aware of it."
"I expected you to keep your mouth shut," she spat, stepping back but still glaring. "Guess I was wrong about you."
"Look, it's not as bad as you think. They're suspicious, sure, but they're not running to the principal. I believe they can keep their mouths shut."
"Suspicion is enough to ruin me! You don't know how a girl's mouth works. This isn't a joke. My reputation isn't something for you to play with. Now I have to walk these halls knowing exactly what those girls are whispering."
I'd had enough. "Hey, it's not all on me. You're the one who suggested the 'reward.' You let me touch your boobs. The only real mistake was… forgetting to lock the door…"
For a second, her mask slipped. Her face went red, real and raw for just a moment, and then she forced it down. "That's… that's not the point," she muttered, turning away and yanking her blouse straight. Her voice shook, thick with frustration. "What happens in this office stays in my office. Got it?"
"Fine. I get it, I promise Kato and Sena are the only ones who know about this."
"Even though I still doubt it. But I want you not to let me down. Now get out. Go back to class before I change my mind about letting you leave."
I left, feeling weirdly lighter for some reason. When I got back to the classroom, Sena was waiting, grinning like she expected to see bite marks. Kato wouldn't even meet my eyes, hunched over her desk and red as a tomato.
"Well, well! Did you have a nice 'talk' with Sensei?" Sena called out, loud enough for everyone to hear. "I'd like to know the details, please."
"Nothing happened," I said, leaning over her desk. She flinched. "I just made it clear that if either of you breathes a word of this, there'll be hell to pay. For everyone."
Sena's smirk twitched. She tried to look tough, arms folded, but I saw the nerves in her eyes. "Whatever. I'm a vault. You're no fun, though."
Kato just nodded fast, clutching her pencil like a lifeline. "I won't say anything. Promise."
A few minutes later, Hasegawa stormed in. She looked carved from ice. She dropped a stack of papers on her desk with a thud that shut everyone up.
"Clear your desks. We are going to have a pop quiz. Right now."
The class groaned, but I just grinned at Sena. She looked confused—until her paper landed on her desk.
"One hundred questions?!" she shrieked, voice cracking. ""What the hell is this? This is insane!"
The room fell silent. "One hundred?" I said, playing innocent. "Mine only has ten. Kato?"
"I have ten, too," Kato whispered.
Sena looked like her head was going to explode. "Wait, what?! Why do I get a hundred and you guys get ten? This isn't fair!"
Hasegawa didn't even look up from her desk. Her voice was cold enough to freeze water. "Maybe if you spent less time skipping your detentions yesterday, you wouldn't find this so 'insane.' Shut up and start writing, Sena. You're not leaving until it's finished."
Sena slumped back, looking like a kicked dog. She shot me a glare that could kill, but she picked up her pencil and started scribbling.
Hasegawa caught my eye for just a fraction of a second. The corner of her mouth gave a tiny, almost invisible twitch, a smirk that said she had truly kept her word from yesterday.
"Less talking," she commanded. "More writing."
The classroom's weirdly quiet. Everyone's hunched over their quizzes, just the scratch of pencils and Sena's frustrated groans cutting through the silence. She sounds like she's losing a fight with her paper—scratching away, sighing, stuck. It's obvious she's not even close to being done.
An hour crawls by. Kato and I finish up, stack our quizzes, and as soon as the bell rings, I can feel the relief. People start packing up, bags zipping, chairs scraping back, but Hasegawa's voice slices through all that noise. She's not messing around. "Sena, you're not leaving this room until every single question's answered. Got it?"
Sena just lifts her head, eyes half-closed, looking wrecked. But surprisingly she looked cute with that expression. She slumps even lower, mumbling something I can't quite catch, glaring daggers at her quiz. "This is torture... pure torture..."
Kato gathers her stuff quietly, gives Sena a quick, sorry look, then turns away.
Hasegawa's already collecting the quizzes and her books, not wasting a second. She turns to me, her voice all business, but I can feel there's a bit more behind it. "Help me take these to my office."
I grab half the stack, and we walk out together, leaving Sena hunched over her desk, still muttering in the empty room. The hallway's quiet, that weird tension following us all the way.
When we get to Hasegawa's office, she glances around, cheeks going a little pink. Her voice drops, almost shy. "Hey, can you... lock the door this time?"
