The moment we sense it—
someone is listening from outside.
The air in the room shifts.
Adrien looks at me and gives a faint smirk, then says calmly,
"Some people enjoy listening to other people's conversations a little too much."
Then his expression turns cold.
Sharp. Commanding.
"Come out.
Now, Lorenzo."
The door opens.
A young man steps inside.
Lorenzo.
Adrien's younger brother—only a year younger than him.
Same height. Same sharp features.
Handsome. Cool. Dangerous.
But his eyes…
they're different.
Unstable.
Lorenzo's gaze lands on me.
He studies me for barely a second before smirking.
"I like her," he says casually.
"I'll take her with me."
For a moment, even I'm caught off guard.
I look at him, unimpressed.
Is he serious?
Lorenzo isn't joking.
Everyone in the underground knows his reputation.
A psycho killer.
Unpredictable.
Anyone who gets too close to him
usually doesn't walk away alive.
Adrien's jaw tightens.
"That's not how this works," he says coldly.
Lorenzo laughs softly, not breaking eye contact with me.
"Relax, brother.
I'm just claiming what caught my interest."
My team tenses instantly.
Sakshi's hand shifts slightly.
Liwa steps half a pace forward.
Mina's eyes harden.
I stay seated. Calm.
Then I finally speak.
"You should be careful, Lorenzo," I say evenly.
"People who try to take what isn't theirs
usually don't like how it ends."
For the first time, Lorenzo's smile widens.
Not offended.
Excited.
"Oh," he says, tilting his head,
"She talks back.
I like her even more."
Adrien steps forward, his presence turning lethal.
"This meeting is over."
But Lorenzo doesn't move.
And that's when it becomes clear—
This isn't just about a deal anymore.
This is about control.
And someone just crossed a line.
