Chapter 4
There was no way in hell she was going to sit in-between those two.
They were literally drooling on each other than she thought. Even if she was meant to destroy a couple, it could come later.
Her way instantly diverted to sitting in-between the two guys.
"Hello" she greeted as she sat comfortably while they all looked a bit… nervous.
"Hi, I'm Jasmine" the dashing girl with pink ribbons and brown hair immediately introduced herself to Fabiola's surprise. Fabiola noticed she had really beautiful skin with cute brown eyes and a slim figure.
"Nice to meet you Jasmine, I'm Fabiola"
"I'm Sean" the guy holding a pillow over Jasmine's head finally introduced. She could guess he was of average height and had asian features, maybe he was mixed.
"Hi, I'm Harry," the guy by her right introduced. He was lean and had noticeably long legs with brown eyes and curly brown hair.
"Nice to meet you all," Fabiola said again and just as she was finishing, the next person was coming. It was a guy of average height with dark short hair.
"Hi, my name's Mason," he introduced. Going to sit beside Harry and they introduced themselves, to him.
The next person was a girl named Raya, she came down and greeted everyone. Her red hair with black glasses couldn't be missed with her fluttery eyes that looked mischievous.
"Wow. Who is that?" Fabiola heard Jasmine exclaimed as she was so concentrated on staring at the flowery decorations.
Her eyes looked in the direction that had stolen everyone's gaze. He had a masculine aura she couldn't fathom, he wore a dark retro suit and his glasses laid perfectly on his perfectly framed face.
"He's sure going to be handsome" Jasmine voiced her thoughts and Fabiola saw Sean scrunching his face, probably from jealousy.
Great that the man was already doing her job for her. Immediately he got to where they sat, he said with an authoritative voice "Hi"
He thereafter removed his glasses and sat down.
Fabiola's eyes widened from seeing his pair of forest green eyes, her body immediately froze in shock! "Braxton…?"
She had no idea when she voiced that question out. She wasn't supposed to!
Everyone's eyes were immediately on her with a questioning look.
The way he looked at her, it was like something flickered in his amazing eyes but it was momentarily as he proceeded in folding his hands.
But… that was Braxton's signature! She couldn't miss it for the world.
Fabiola gasped in schock. Was this some kind of technology or what? Did Braxton come back to life? She wasn't able to attend his funeral but she was sure it was held… but was it really? Was this a dream?!
Even his death that she heard about was through a letter and her family telling her. What if it was all a lie?
"I have no idea who you are, miss…" she finally heard his familiar husky baritone voice say with a straight face and with a faint wrinkle of annoyance on his forehead.
She got up with thoughts of if she was hallucinating.
Day after day, for the past three years, she had prayed and wished she would be given a second chance to be with him and here he was saying he never knew her.
What about all those memories they shared?
She went closer to him to look at him intentively but it seemed he didn't mind as he continued staring at her with an expressionless face.
His forest green eyes were still fanned with his incredibly thick lashes that she liked, he still had his perfectly pointed nose that gave him a male beauty edge. Even after all these years, it seems he never aged.
"You two know each other?" Mason asked for the rest of the people that were wondering what was going on. Fabiola just called out Braxton's name like she knew him but Braxton said he didn't.
She summoned courage to touch his forearm. Surprisingly, Braxton didn't throw her hands off.
Soon, tears started forming in her eyes to everyone's surprise. She couldn't control her emotions any longer.
Not caring if it's a show her career depended on, She broke down "i… I thought i will never get to see you again"
All those memories they spent together were rushing in her head as she stared at him in disbelief. She had suffered all these years because the news paralyzed her.
"As I said before, I have no idea who you are," he said again.
Those words stung her like a bee's sting and the tears increased even more.
Then it hit her! She really was the one who started this in the first place.
Three years ago, before his alleged accident, she had ignored him and now, sitting in front of her is Braxton Tyler, her once upon a time lover.
"Fabiola, let's just sit down. Maybe he's just sharing similarities with someone you happen to know" Jasmine was holding her in a second.
She shook her head negatively and blinked away the tears at the stoic Braxton.
Okay, she really needed to relax first. Her manager and the producer must be in panic right now but even she was in a turmoil.
"Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry" she told Braxton and walked back with Jasmine to her seat with a heavy heart but what Fabiola didn't know was that the producers were thrilled about her little commotion as they thought it was all part of her plan!
The producer thought it was even better that she could improvise.
"Where did you say you got her from, again?" Mr Connor, the producer, asked Mr Owen from his control room as he was sipping his wine. For all he knows, Owen just brought her out of nowhere saying she could do a good job.
"I told you before. She has been an actress in a low"
"Impressive, I must say she's really good. I fell for the tears of her pretending to know someone. That will surely interest viewers to get them talking about them being old flames?"
"Yes… yes" for Mr Owen, he was confused as hell. He knew Fabiola had dated Braxton but he also didn't know that he was alive all these while. However, the producer seemed to be happy and had taken the narrative that Fabiola had improvised the script, who was he to spoil the show?
Meanwhile, back in the show, a female named Natalia with black long hair had arrived. The little drama between Fabiola and Braxton had subsided as some of them were already looking at themselves with admiration while Fabiola and Braxton were just out of it.
Fabiola kept on looking at a particular spot on the floor. The ants there seemed to be carrying a torn pink petal while Braxton just sat there staring at a coconut tree, he didn't even bother to glance at the remaining contestants.
There were times when Fabiola would glance at him and wonder if he was real or not. What was he doing here though? What was she kidding? He must be here to find his one true love too.
The next female to grace in was Zabrina and immediately she walked in, Fabiola felt off without knowing why.
The last person that came after her was Gavin, he was also tall and had brown hair.
Finally, the intercom beeped. Fabiola looked around and it was a total of 10 contestants including her.
"Welcome, Singles, to Single's Blaze, season 5. For the next 6 days, you will live together on Blaze island. Remember, you are not allowed to reveal your age and occupations.
You are to find love, form connections and earn your ticket to paradise.
Now, please proceed to the cafeteria to enjoy your lunch"
Fabiola didn't realize she was very hungry until the mention of lunch came and she didn't know when she was the first to stand up.
"Does anyone happen to know where the cafeteria is?" Jasmine asked and Zabrina scoffed.
Jasmine immediately looked at her in surprise. "Was that in any way directed to me?"
It was already the first day and a fight was going to ensue? Fabiola thought it was a way to get them in the spotlight.
"I didn't call your name, did I?" Zabrina snapped back, as everyone's eyes were on them.
"Let's just find it ourselves" Mason suggested, trying to reduce the tension while the remaining people stood up.
From where they sat, they rounded the corner, quickly seeing the cafeteria that was made up of wood with a banner shading it from the sun and rain, and a tall water tank by the side.
They couldn't help but wonder how they were going to adjust to the living conditions, all except Fabiola though. She could survive in a desert.
As they got there, Fabiola noticed there were 2 groups due to chatter they shared while coming- Harry, Jasmine and Sean. Gavin, Zabrina and Raya.
While her, Natalia, Braxton and Mason seemed to walk solo but it seemed Natalia wanted to talk with Braxton but she kept holding back. Maybe he seemed unapproachable because of the way he had answered her earlier.
"Hi Fabiola, you share my sister's name too" Mason said to her with a smile that was contagious and she smiled too "Oh really. How old is she?"
Mason looked up, it seems he was trying to remember "I think 7 or 11"
Fabiola didn't know when she star
ted laughing "What?' and at that moment, she caught sight of Braxton who was glaring at her. Did this guy remember he was on a show?!
